If you strip away society, take all the modern tech out of the equation then what is left? Males and females eating, and breeding just like they do in the wild. Before looking outwards, pause and consider whether a girl would prefer to be with you compared to someone else, from her perspective. You're sad because you feel alone and neglected. This is the lot of the vast majority of men, so in that respect you are neither alone nor especially unfortunate.

Some chose to stay at home and cry about it while others embrace it as an opportunity. I would argue that the former approach is one more associated with women, so choosing that path is the antithesis of masculinity.

Life is unfair, learn to change what you can and accept what you can't - easier said that done of course, but if you rise to the challenge, that makes you a Real Man™ and that's what women desire and men envy.

With men, the "attractiveness equation" that our brains use to figure out how attractive a woman is is kind of linear, additive equation where things add and subtract to the whole.
