A lot of redditors don't use their name in their email address, which I assume is the main concern you have for privacy; furthermore, there are many people who share common names in the west, further increasing the difficulty of identifying us.

Reddit as a company wouldn't be able to do that; a leak would screw their reputation, intentional or not. The greatest threat to MGTOW is being shut down like the RedPill sub.

Acting on that information would be to be complicit in a hacking scandal, and I smell many a wrongful termination lawsuit, especially if the man's smart and records the conversation and catches word of the reason. Socially, if someone resents you that much for being on what is technically a men's help forum, to hell with them.

As long as we don't post things that make us identifiable to our real-life acquaintances, such as AITA (Am I The Asshole) posts describing a specific situation which couldn't reasonably belong to anyone else, or show ourselves in photos then we can safely assume that we're safe in our anonymity.

Use a VPN I highly suggest Express VPN 256 AES encryption. Great for banking and other online services like shopping while hiding your identity and encrypts all your traffic keeping it secure. Very easy to install and use and works on mobile devices as well as Mac or pc. If you have an Android I highly recommend putting it on there since they’re very vulnerable.

Although you have to pay a monthly subscription or annual subscription it’s totally worth it with the protection it provides.

Also use ProtonMail (Encrypted mail service)

Or create a new email and Mgtow account with a fake email generator.

Also using the mobile carrier network (WiFi Off) is the most secure way to do banking or using reddit. Your IP isn’t traceable through the mobile networks if you use it along with the VPN since it’s dynamic. If you have no contract with your provider you can change numbers as well.

There’s no such thing as being completely safe especially when it comes to any form Of criticism of feminism or female nature. That’s one of the driving reasons mgtow exists. My advise to you would be to learn the lessons here, unsubscribe if it gives you comfort but if for any reason people try to shame you for participating or shame you for your opinions to stand by them. Defend them. Defend yourself. 9/10 anyone that tries to attack will actually have no defence for anything you say. Likely they’ll just try and shame you further with insults and if they do call them out on it. Point out their own hypocrisy and their high horse will shrink pretty quick.

Don't post stuff that would give away who you are (ie, where you work/live/hangout/etc.)

Do what I do, use a VPN and then TOR. It is overkill but whatever, I am safe.

Still, yes, reddit can know who you are, and other providers could link your profile to your true identity through browser fingerprinting etc.

But the biggest threat realistically is to post enough specific details which narrow down who you are to somebody who knows you or has background info on you.

Much as I don’t declare my views to everyone unannounced, I have been frank and honest with my friends who ask about why I don’t get married or commit to a relationship.

there is no anonymity on the internet.

If someone wants to find you they will. advertisers these days track you via so many way, even when using incognito mode. especially on mobile. battery level, mic noise, etc. you'd have to be security paranoid to get close to a level of anonymity that is decent.

And freedom of speech is a right. I have several different reddit accounts and each one serves a specific purpose(professional life, private life, autodidacticism, porn, etc).

Dont use the official reddit app on your phone. I prefer using the "reddit is fun" app instead.

For the most part you'll be fine as long as the email you use to register your reddit account isn't one that can be traced back to you. ProtonMail is free and encrypted.

I have seen posts connecting to a Google doc/form that will attempt to phish for emails but they dont stick long and you would have to be stupid to fall for it.

I highly recommend that everyone use a VPN. It's only a couple bucks a month.

Using Tor is only effective if you know what you're doing. It is unnecessary if you have a decent VPN and you arent using darknet services.

I'm always running under the assumption that my identity is known. Most people just don't make the effort to try and find out. If you want to go anonymous on the 'net, there are ways. Zeitgeist Eater on Youtube has some good advice on how to accomplish it, check out his MGTOW channel if you are interested - it involves mainly the use of the Linux distro Tails. As for my mail address - you're not using a spamcatcher Gmail address or likewise to register on forums with? Let 'em find that mail address if they so desire.

But even if that all fails, I doubt I'd care to be named. That's a fun fact about selfactualization - shaming thrown directly at the person is pointless. Most of us keep anonymous to avoid having to deal with proxy shaming - with activists targeting relatives, parents, ~~spouse~~, and most importantly, the workplace. I suspect we're fairly secure for the most. Folks aren't idiots.

They won't bother with mass naming and shaming until MGTOW gets quite a bit bigger and begins having a more serious impact. We're noteworthy, but not yet devastating the fabric of society.
