One of my biggest hobbies is reading.

It's a very affordable hobby. Get a library card is the first step, most libraries have great online databases and ways for you to reserve books.

The next step is reading as many books as you choose to. Making it a priority to take the time to read a book, earning the right to understand the information it contains.

Reading is a phenomenal hobby and a great way to have a lasting positive impact on your overall well-being and worldview.

I play PC games like Rimworld and Oxygen Not Included. Others like RDR2 but I really like games that are mentally stimulating.

I like learning things in general. New skills as well as what I consider, common knowledge, but probably isn’t. It jumps wildly from physics and rocketry to boating and playing instruments. Even if I’ll never do most of these things, it’s fun to find out how they work/how to use them.

I read science-fiction almost exclusively. The appeal of it to me, I guess, comes from the notion that most of the tech in hard sci-fi has the possibility of becoming reality one day; even after its long after I’m gone.

I also write sci-fi. A nano-punk series about humanity leaving Earth and colonizing the solar system. Bringing our problems into the void and learning to live with the problems that have plagued humanity since we crawled out the mud. For example, one of four empires, which’s spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers, is a meritocracy with sanctioned combat. Essentially, the law is that even murder is allowed, but only on the condition that it’s done on the surface of one Jupiter’s moons. They live hedonistically, but not like barbarians. There’s honor to it. In combat and in daily life, you gain or lose merit as you live, based on their values and beliefs. And ones merit will determine ones standard of living. The houses, cars and spaceships you can by. Restaurants, brothels and other places you can go to. Cybernetic implants and augments you have access too. Etc.

Well my hobbies are a little different. Since I live near a red light district, mostly I visit hookers. I don't have any expensive habits, and I cook for myself, so most of my money goes into savings, and what I leave for hobbies, I mostly spend on hookers. Visiting a hooker, getting a blowjob without a condom is cheaper than taking a girl to a date, buying gifts etc., which I have sworn not to do to myself.
