Same thing is happening in video games. I’m happy with women in leadership roles. I’m not happy with the extreme of that which is all women only in leadership roles while men are portrayed as incompetent.

I found it funny that in the women led ghostbusters movie they made the make assistant be a bumbling but hunky idiot "reversing the genders" but in the original the secretary isn't an idiot, she has an additude but she holds her own and is good at her job. The bumbling comic relief was Rick Moranis' role.. which was not in the woman led version.

This is why I cancelled my Netflix account... The amount of new movies where men are portrayed as meek or the villains is staggering.

This has been the trend for decades now. Nearly all movies are made to promote women and humiliate men. I have given up on all movies. I watch some sports and YouTube. Even men’s sports have become feminized. The NFL is really pushing the boundaries. It wouldn’t surprise me if they go too far and start losing the men that have supported them since the beginning. I am close to jumping ship.

Andor was legit. Strong female characters on their own merit, not because “men r dumb”. Male characters well written. All around showing that better characters make better stories. Man hating lead female action stories rely on tearing down men due to poor writing for female characters (and even worse for men)

It's pretty much why most marvel content is failing now. It's been that way for years. In Captain Marvel, they gender swapped Mar-vell, relegated it to a nothing role, and then emasculated every other male character in the movie. Nick Fury went from a badass to a bumbling comic relief character for no reason. He's extremely competent in every movie up til this point. Then here we find out he lost his eye to a space cat. They keep trying to steer male dominated media towards women. It doesn't work. Women aren't interested in the first place, and men can't be shamed into liking things we don't like. I just wonder how much more money can be lost before somebody puts their foot down.

I don't really watch movies anymore. I used to be a huge movie buff until hollywood went woke. Same goes for video games.

Last movie I watched was actually national lampoons vacation and loved every minute of it. They don't make movies like that anymore. I feel sorry for the future generations that will miss out on great movies like that.

I just watched Lilo & Stitch with kids - the alien leader, who was shown as a just ruler was a female, and she sent two characters to earth, when they came to earth they transformed into men -- needles to say they were bad guys and also shown as dumb and silly.

what is your point exactly? movies have routinely objectified and dumbed women down by either sexualising them or portraying them as weak and helpless compared to the male characters. only recently there has been more women in leadership roles on screen, and even when they are, they are often still overly sexualised and held to unrealistic beauty standards. if you’re bothered that men are sometimes portrayed as lazy or stupid, maybe ask why you weren’t equally as bothered when that was the default portrayal of women for so long. it’s quite telling that it only seems to be a ‘problem’ now that the power dynamic is shifting. film and media have a strong influence on how the world views women and men, so why is it such a bad thing that some movies are now portraying women as leaders? it seems like it’s only a problem to you guys when the roles are reversed and your male masculinity feels threatened lol
