It's a good book. What's especially good about it is that, as a proper philosopher and not some pretentious wordsmith, he is meticulous about his conceptual distinctions (e.g. between disadvantage, discrimination, and wrongful discrimination), and makes great pains to present his case modestly. The average reader can read it and learn from it, although it won't be an enthralling experience, and it won't give the reader an illusory feeling of cleverness for reading such erudition.

You can kinda tell it's a decent book, because the only things Suzanne Moore could come up with in her hilariously bad review was that Benatar was suffering from 'victim-envy' and that "Victimhood is not an Olympic sport" (could have fooled me, Suzanne!).
