I am not sure I completely agree that women had it so bad for, well, forever. I am open to the idea, but I would like to see some evidence of that!

It seems to me that for thousands of years, women were trading submission/housework/childbearing vs providing/protecting.

I think that both parties had duties and responsibilities, and it seems to me that the man's side was far more difficult and dangerous.

Can you imagine having to provide and protect your family forever (there was no divorce back then), without electricity, sanitation, running water, communication, police, medicine, transportation? You really think it was easier than staying in the kitchen?

Women only decided that they were oppressed and wanted out of the kitchen, after we had air-conditioned offices. And even today, you don't see them doing any of the hard jobs.

Exactly! The living standard that we take for granted is less than 200 years old. And even that is probably overestimated: the 19th century which saw the birth of the Industrial Revolution was not a fun time to be alive!

Most people don't realize that just a couple centuries ago, there was no democracy, no freedom, no jobs, no capitalism, no economy, no fiat currency and no property rights.

Having too much wealth was considered a sin by the Catholic Church which didn't hesitate to torture and kill the wealthy during the Great Inquisition (and of course confiscate their wealth - in the name of God!).

In my opinion, the claim that women were oppressed "forever" is just another feminist lie, that relies on people's ignorance about the human condition throughout history. But I am willing to change my mind, if someone presents proof!

You are correct, but I would like to add one thing. Women and men are biologically different, and this plays out in what we find attractive. To suggest that men are women are the same is adopting the flawed feminist argument -- that all our gender differences are socially programmed.

A man's initial interest in a woman is like 95% driven by looks alone.

A woman's initial interest in a man is spread between looks, social status, and emotional wellbeing.
