157 Republicans Just Opposed Renewing The Violence Against Women Act - Surprise, it's grossly skewed against men's rights and due process

My high school friend posted this to FB and the outpour of male support in the post's comments from his other friends was so strong, it inspired me to share it here as my first post along with my own response in the hopes that you guys can use some of the rebuttals and facts I replied with in case you're faced with a similar situation. FYI I'm an independent voter

- Perhaps if it was named The Violence Against People Act, it might appear a less obvious attempt to appeal to the masses' sympathy toward women whilst diverting republican votes as they oppose the bill most, therefore framing them as sexist. This is made apparent by the timing of this report being close to election strategies season beginning and the fact that it was originally drafted by Joe Biden who desperately needs all the voter support he can get including extra sympathy from women, Democratic and disgruntled Republican voters

It's so obviously skewed against men that a few years back activist Beverly LaHaye called it a waste of federal funds which "ends up creating a climate of suspicion where all men are feared or viewed as violent and all women are viewed as victims" and activist Phyllis Schlafly described it as a tool to "fill feminist coffers" including that it promoted "divorce, breakup of marriage and hatred of men"

It is also highly unconstitutional on several fronts, some of which include exceeding the powers granted to Congress (under the Commerce Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause), allowing cops to take DNA samples from arrestees or anyone stopped by police, mandatory HIV testing of those only charged but not convicted, automatic payment of full restitution, giving Native American tribal authorities jurisdiction over sex crimes involving non-Native Americans on tribal lands, banning individuals convicted of domestic abuse from purchasing firearms, giving up to 10 thousand temporary visas per year to battered undocumented immigrants , the latter two of which republicans would never stand for and on top of all that, it costs a fortune (initially 1.6 billion, not sure now). All to biasedly reduce violence against women, which is already illegal

Unfortunately, I think they rejected it more to stick it to the left than out of any genuine concern for mens rights.
