She had intended just to burn the tip of his penis with a candle and a beaker of petrol to save their marriage.

The fact that she thought this reasonable, to the point where she happily used it Court to defend her actions, demonstrates how fucked things really are.

Just for the record, if a partner of mine tried to burn the tip of my penis with petrol, 'saving my marriage' would be at the very bottom of the list of 'what happens next'.

Um, because she killed the person she claimed had wronged her, and he killed HIS CHILD?

Neither one is OK, but wow, are they not the same crime.

Now I'm aware that this doesn't need to be said but if a man had burnt his wife to death for cheating on him he would probably be on death row or in prison for close to life. (Not sure if Australia has capital punishment)
