Reddit's opinion on this sub is, unfavourable to say the least, this would be one of the more tame gender related subreddit's compared to literally any other feminist subreddit. People don't like the fact that men are advocating for actual gender equality around here, and not forms of gynocentric mainstream ideas around gender equality.

Women are welcome here, for the MRM to gain ground we need support from both women and men, especially women since society favours their opinions on matters, especially on topics like gender relations.

If you see some people try and redirect you to Men's Lib, don't join, the mods on that subreddit blatantly state that misandry against men isn't real, and they operate on feminist theories, people on any mainstream subreddit try and redirect you there when the topic on "men's issues" come up, they blatantly deny the existence of male oppression and focus purely on women's oppression.

I also recommend r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates and r/Egalitarianism.

Be aware that some of the men here have suffered injustices and may want to vent. Please don't take it personally if any do. Most of us are welcoming to anyone who believes in genuine equal rights for both sexes.

We do have rules against hatred, so if someone posts a comment that makes negative generalisations about all women, or all men, please report it to the moderators!

Yeah, the annoying thing about most of these is that they have really mundane explainations. Like only 2% of directors being female. If we encouraged more women to become directors and make films, the problem would fix itself.

From my time on this subreddit all of the discussion I had were calm compared to other places. People here can present their point here without need for insults or belittling. You can voice your opinion here regardless of gender or ethnicity.

You also bring up a good point with personal choice making the equal 50/50 split femenist want impossible.

My thoughts on the 4 points you brought up:

Women whining when they aren't as equally represented at the Academy Awards. Well, maybe... just maybe... the judges judged things fairly and it just so happened that men did better.

This one is tough. Are there as many female leads in big budget movies? It's probably getting better in recent years, but going back a decade this was probably less the case. I'm no movie buff so maybe I'm following the wrong path here, but there might be some merit to this. I will also give the judges the benefit of the doubt that they are actual fair judges. That being said, we all know how teachers can be sexist / racist despite needing to have a degree to teach.

Women wanting standards to be lowered so they can get certain jobs. I'm sorry, if a woman wants to be a firefighter (that's fine), she needs to pass the same physical tests. I don't want someone that's not qualified trying to save lives. Personally, I wouldn't want to be given a job unless I'm qualified.

This argument from feminism makes no sense to me. I don't understand why it should be easier for certain people to get a job. Imagine if white supremacy actually existed (or maybe I should say, still existed?) and white men would be prioritized for any job, regardless of qualifications of other applicants. It's hypocritical just from the stand point that feminists believe that this is how the world works, but instead want to flip it in their favor.

Women being the default parent in custody cases. This is tragic and devastating. Children need both parents.

Huge... So many men here and in other places of the internet talking about their experiences with divorce. It's also assumed men will have to pay alimony / child support. I worked in a financial institution and it was part of the training that you should ask if a women is getting child support / alimony when applying for a loan, but not for men because realistically a men will never be awarded either by a judge here so no need to ask.

Women telling lies about their exes to make the Children think their father is horrible. (I'm against men doing this also). One-children need their fathers. Two- this can backfire anyway. Three- it's petty.

Parental alienation. I wonder if this is just because of the sheer numbers of women as a sole guardian (due to your point 3) giving way to many women being able to do this, or if there's actually some biological wiring to creating these scenarios.

If your worried if women in are allowed here don’t worry I seen quite a couple woman MRAs [men’s rights activists] and they all have been treated well people even suggested MRA stuff :D! [I suggest Dr shayman]
