I think the scariest part here is taking advice from Reddit instead of sitting down with your partner and having a discussion, even though "testing" your partner is in and of itself a red flag. People assume these random strangers have this plethora of knowledge and are coming to your aid in your time of need, however more often than not these people have absolutely 0 dating experience, may just hate the opposite gender, or are just trying to cause trouble for the inevitable follow up post. I can't imagine possibly ruining your relationship with someone you're very happy with because the internet strangers told you to. Insane.

I think she's doing mental gymnastics to turn his reaction into an excuse for her going against her word and changing her mind.
