Warren Farrell specifically advocates for a version of what he calls a "gender transition movement." to liberate men.

So male-to-female trans are not the only ones championing gender transitioning. I wonder what traditionalist followers of Farrell think about that?

Farrell's proposal is more radical than that of many transgender people who assume certain behaviors, clothes, gestures & roles remain sexed and that the only way to experience them is by becoming the "opposite" gender. To some extent Farrell's transition dissolves fixed gender roles... hence more radical.

Farrell breaks down his proposed gender transition movement into stages of a grand historical process, which can be described as follows:

  • 1. Historically men and women adhered to strict gender roles for the sake of survival.
  • 2. Women chose to "liberate" themselves from that role to gain more freedom.
  • 3. Men have responded women's "liberation" by proposing they too might be liberated from certain traditional roles.
  • 4. Ideally this unfolding process can culminate in a gender liberation movement for all.
