This insecurity buzzword that everyone seems to be throwing around these days is getting way out of hand and is being used to shame men into doing a lot of things are are aginst their own best interests.
Everyone is bit much. It was just a few people.
Having preferences doesn't make one insecure, but basing those preferences on insecurity is. And by calling it out I'm trying to help you guys.
Insecurity isn't attractive and often leads to shitty behaviour. It also leads to a warped world view where you filter everything through the insecurity filter. Like some chick that used to be fat and gets turned down might think she's getting turned down, because she's still not fit enough even though there can be plenty of different reasons.
Some examples:
I don't want to date a woman that has riden the CC, because that shows that she has different ideas about love and sex
is okay, but
only a cuck would date a woman that has ridden the CC, because she will always compare you to the amazing lovers she had in the past
shows insecurity.
I don't want my wife to go clubbing alone, because it shows a lack of respect and that we have different interests
if you let your gf go clubbing alone you are a cuck and she will absolutely cheat on you
is insecure as fuck.
I've got a small penis, but fuck it I'm going to give my best
I've got a small penis and no women will ever love me and they will cheat with some hung guy
is insecure.
By calling it out I'm trying to open the eyes of some guys and make them realize that if they simply stopped worrying they could be happier. IDGAF and such

That is true, I should have specified blue pillers. It's only TBP and feminists that abuse the word.
My point here is that something being "insecure" does not make it bad. Everyone has some level of insecurity and that is a good thing.
My second point is that the word insecure is getting used more and more to manipulate men into doing things that they are unconfortable with and directly reduce their happyness. It's basicly the modern verson of the typical schoolyard taunt "if you don't jump into that yard with the big dog you are a pussy"
My third point is that people who are so concerned about being called "insecure" that they change their behaviour and do things that they really don't want do do, are in fact the most unsecure of all becuase they are letting themselves get manipulated with a shaming label because they are so concerned that others might think less of them if they set proper boundries.

I don't understand how someone pointing out insecurity is an insult. Insecurity is a lack of confidence in your own abilities.
If someone says, "you are being insecure" it means they are saying you are more capable and worthwhile than you yourself believe.
If someone is concerned about being called 'insecure' it sort of proves that they are. "I lack confidence in myself and I don't want other people to point it out." so... why not just start believing in yourself? And what exactly would be wrong with that change in behavior?
"if you don't jump into that yard with the big dog you are a pussy"...concern that others might think less of them if they set proper boundries.
Proper boundaries is more along the lines of self respect than it is confidence although both are very similar as insecurity can lead to a loss of self respect. It is lack of self respect that makes someone jump into the yard. They don't owe anyone anything and why would they care what someone else thought of them? However, an insecure person might be bothered more about what others think and is willing to sacrifice self respect in an attempt to change what someone else thinks.
Reality is, those other people will just think the yard jumper is easily manipulated. If a person has a lot of insecurity, then yes, he is.

That means I can spend the whole day on the most important mision in the world: Proving that I'm the top dog of the security pile. Only 9am and I have already proven my security in a whole bunch of ways. Of course that means dropping pants in the most public place posible[sic], never let a perfectly good chance to prove my security go to waste. For some reason he dosen't[sic] want to help me prove how secure I am in my manhood. that would prove that I'm really not insecure about my penis.

Here's the crux of it, though: the man in your hyperbolic, over-the-top example is engaging in unhealthy behaviors in order to prove to everyone else around him how "secure" he is. But because his actions are motivated not to satisfy himself and his own standards and ethics, but instead to try and manipulate how others perceive him, all of his self-destructive behavior is still motivated by his need for validation and approval for other people, which is insecurity. He is actually massively insecure.
If he were actually secure, he would do things that benefit himself, his ethics, and his goals (go to work, maintain a nice living space, learn useful skills, pursue interesting hobbies, etc) without being overly concerned with how others see him. He doesn't need validation and approval from others. It's a nice thing when he does get it from people he respects, but he's still okay if he doesn't get it. He has nothing to "prove" to anyone but himself. He knows down to his soul that he's trying every day to be his best self, and that personal satisfaction is all he really needs.
TL;DR - OP's example of a "secure" guy is primarily concerned with how other people see him and bases all of his actions on whether or not others validate him, which is the definition of being insecure.
[–]NalkaNalkayou call it virtue, I call it cowardice[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Exactly my point. Feminists are pressureing men into doing things that they don't want by publicly shaming them with the "insecure" slur to get them act against their own interests in order to "prove there are not insecure"
Use of the "insecure" slur is manipulation, plain and simple. Ironicly the biggest insecurity is worrying about others thinking less of you because you don't comply whith their ideas of how a man should make choices relating to his wife or girlfriend.
My last point is that there a many things about which it's good to be insecure. It keeps you healthy and alive.
[–]madethisfortaleden 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But if you were secure, someone calling you insecure wouldn't bother you at all. You'd have nothing to prove because you know that you aren't insecure, and that's the thing that matters. They're entitled to their wrong opinions, but proving them wrong doesn't even occur to you, because you have other things to think about.
If someone calling you insecure makes you worry about what other people think of you, and act against your own interests to try and prove to them that you aren't insecure, then you are insecure. It's not a slur, it's a statement of fact. They're calling you insecure because you are insecure.
It's not the responsibility of "feminists" to protect your feelings and sustain your insecurity. The onus is on you to develop yourself productively, practice self-acceptance, and reject the notion that you have "something to prove" about your character to anyone that isn't yourself.
Firstly everyone is insecure. Everyone has doubts about themselves, everyone is concerned at least a little about what other people think. It's part of what makes us human.
Creeps who use the word "insecure" to play on peoples weeknesses in order to manipulate them into doing things they are not confortable with are grade A assholes and deserve all the contempt that one can heep on them.

If you think “shaming" men against their own self interest is new, you need man up and let women and children go first if you are a gentleman.
Part of the “social value" men have IS disposability, let that sink in.

Never been TRP. I nibble at the edges of some manosphere sites, take what I think is intereting but pass on the coolaid.
