In an effort to incentivize better content, I'd like to start a community "Post of the Week" award. Winners will get sweet, sweet bragging rights and subreddit-wide acknowledgement that they provided an interesting and stimulating idea. The rules are simple:
- This week's PotW contest is for posts/comments from 8/6-8/12 (last Saturday through today).
- Nominate high-quality posts or comments by making a top-level comment in this thread and linking to your nomination. You can nominate any number of posts/comments from any user, and can even nominate a conversation between two users (but no more than two; that just gets confusing). Quoting a brief excerpt is considerate but optional.
- You can vote on posts/comments by upvoting their top-level nomination comment in this thread. The highest upvoted comment will win.
- Voting will close Friday, August 19th and the winner will be announced.
The idea is to encourage higher-quality posts/comments by bringing greater attention to them. Nominate liberally. For ideas on what should be considered "high-quality content," see my comment below.
Last Week's Winner
Last week's PotW was from /u/DrunkGirl69 with her post "What is love?" The full nomination thread from last week can be seen here.
