Can I get some input on what I can do at present when my long term goal is so far away?
Background: I'm 37, he's 40, married 18years almost, been together 21. We are still happy together, sex is great generally about 3 times a week. Juggling an 8 year old with ASD, home school, my Uni study, hubby working full time out of the home, and mental health issues for both of us. We're in lock down again here in the UK.
So, my big issue is that I need to lose a lot of weight. I've never been a good weight even as a child, and even when he and I first met I was at the top end of normal after several months of serious restriction. So my long term goal is to get to a normal weight. I know my weight is a huge problem and that he deserves better. I know he would be happier if I was slimmer, and I'm working on that.
But in the mean time, I want to improve in ways that are quicker. In the last few years I tackled a lot of the sexual aspects that had caused years of unhappiness (taking us away from a deadbedroom caused by my starfishing and disinterest).
I listen to the Laura Doyle podcast, and I am implementing "whatever you think" and trying to implement the duct tape, as well as trying to always assume his motivations are good, rather than jumping to conclusions.
Do you have any thoughts on what I can be doing for now? Thank you
