Hey everyone, I made this post on another subreddit and I was encouraged to post my work here. I know playing video games isn’t the most feminine of activities so it probably won’t be relatable for a lot of you all but for those that do I think it’s a quirky way of looking at the captain/first-mate analogy.
For those of you that play MOBAs (League of Legeneds, Dota, Heroes Of Newerth) you know that everyone has a role. The most basic idea is that you have “carries” (players that inflict damage/kill enemies) and support players which do what their name pretty much says.
In a team, there are different roles but none of them are lesser in importance. A carry won’t be effective without support, and a support won’t be effective without a carry. Does the carry come off to be a more glorious role? Sure, especially to the lower level players, and you often see in low level teams where everyone goes to carry, and they fail miserably 99% of the time.
The point is, that in RPW we feel that this outline for relationships is the best way. Women often date men that are older/smarter/taller than them, and it makes sense having the guy lead. And we feel it is more natural.
Are there people that have success running different relationship models? Sure. If people want to say that they have different ways of running their relationship that’s fine too. My relationship isn’t pure RPW either but I follow the general outline.
But the point of debate isn’t about equality or misogyny, it’s about choosing a relationship path that works for you. Women aren’t inferior to men, just like support players aren’t inferior to carry players, or like running backs aren't inferior to quarter backs.
Background
I don't really plan on posting here (too busy sucking up all the good information :) ) but here is my background in case you all are curious.
My family came to America from India when I was a little girl. My parents have a redpill like relationship, but were never affectionate around each other (never seen them kiss). Growing up for a long time I thought sex was only something White people did (lol).
I had a lot of warped views when it came to sex and relationships. At first I believed boys would only ruin my life and I would become a single mom. Then it was, guys are evil and just want to sleep with me. I never had a real feminist phase, but I believed the bluepill ‘equality model’.
I didn’t really become a RPW until I met my husband. He was always so kind and nice to me, doing things to please him just felt right. I started working towards becoming a stellar wife. One thing I noticed adopting a RPW mindset is just how much happiness chores bring me. As odd as that sounds, when I cook a good meal I can’t help but be happy, when I finish cleaning the house I love the satisfaction that our home is beautiful.
