There is absolute silence about his 2 divorces. Having to pay so much alimony that you have to sell your house, no that wouldn't be related to depression at all. This is so scary.

It's too early to tell, but it's possible that RW could become a tipping point in the wider culture regarding the negative effects of divorce on men. Divorced men committing suicide at 9 times the rate of women moves no one because men are disposable, and men who self-terminate are doubly so, essentially proving their unsuitability for service. But RW puts a hugely loved face to that statistic.

Creatively, the man was a giant. We're talking about the Genie from Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Peter Pan in Hook, The Fischer King, Dead poet's Society, Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam...The list goes on and on.

His death is one that can't be ignored or minimized.

Free Domain Radio is probably the greatest podcast available on the internet. Stef consistently puts out new videos and is always on point. For all of you ADD-ridden guys who can't fathom an hours worth of content, download the audio podcast from iTunes, other podcast feeds, or direct from his website and listen to it over the course of a few days. I personally use an app called Pocketcasts on Android.

Listen while you commute to work or are working out. Not everything can thoroughly be explained in a 5 minute TL;DR video. Educate yourselves instead of waiting for someone to simplify it for you and leave out something. I always have FDR or Rogan's JRE loaded up on my phone.

That was much better than I anticipated. Seeing an hour long video is very intimidating, who has that much time? But Stefan Molyneux is an excellent speaker and makes his points quite well. I watched the whole hour. Stefan lays the blame for Williams's death at the foot of his vampiric ex-wives and the State.

I'm not usually a huge Stef fan, but he absolutely nailed this subject-matter, and said everything that needed to be said with reason, empathy, and pathos. This needs to go viral.

I don't think it was the divorces that hurt him so badly, although they definitely hurt. Depression isn't always so straightforward and the person who seems to be the happiest and brings the most joy to others is sometimes the one who needs joy in his life the most. I know I'll miss Robin Williams, and I hope that everyone learns to listen a bit better from it.

I don't mean to go all mushy here but his death is really affecting me, I am still in disbelief.

Williams was a bipolar addict, and he gritted his teeth a lot longer than many of them can.

If money killed him, it was having TOO much. The ability to sit at home with no distractions from the black dog and the bottle was a curse.

He had more money than any of us can imagine. His support obligations were at most $1.5 million a year, tax deductible, and he just made $4 million for six months work on a shitty sitcom and probably $2 million for Night at the Museum 2. A 150-night-year, $50k a night Vegas gig was his for the taking if he needed it ... That's $7.5 million for an hour of work every other day.

I'm amazed at some of the parallels from Williams' struggles in life (and Molyneux's analysis of their origins) and my own struggles/origins -- specifically the concept of "me plus" (both in adolescence and adulthood). While most of it is reframing things I already consciously understood, hearing it play out as someone's life is humbling, educational and motivational; that it was such a brilliant man's life makes it even more so.

I posted on askTRP whether they though RW was a beta, without seeing this. Down voted to oblivion because it's Mrs. Doubtfire, but, I still think he was a beta fag. I would go as far to say, that if RW had spent as much time reading TRP as most of the subscribers here, he would still be alive.

Molyneux should be avoided at all costs. He makes fun of his listeners for not donating "enough" money, he used to tell people to deFOO, this means cut off all ties to your family bcause they are not a "voluntary" relationship. This mans projects his own experiences, we don't know what he has embellished or plain made up, onto the rest of society. He gives opinion as fact. AVOID STEFAN MOLYNEUX.
