kickboxing, bjj and the whole mma thing were great boosts to my confidence.. I recommend training 100%

Whenever the topic of "what's an alpha hobby to do" most people say woodworking and bjj.
I've been curious about which type of classes would be best for actual self defense if anyone has any recommendation: krav maga (went to one class it was awesome), bjj, muay thai, etc.

BJJ is great for one-on-one and where's a lot of open space
My thing is that I will avoid a fight at all costs; I will run away before I do anything because if I get arrested then my security clearance will be revoked and it's career over.
But if some guy starts an unavoidable bar fight I would like to be able to quickly finish it

Whatever you find yourself most interested in. My opinion, BJJ (not sport BJJ - that doesn't always apply to self defense. Look for a Gracie school in your area). It's going to be hard at first though - a lot of new guys drop out after only a few months because they feel so far behind the curve. Just keep tapping and stick with it, you will not regret it!

I'm glad you said that b/c I feel like that often. I am routinely dominated by colored belts, controlled like a puppet. But yeah, I guess I gotta stick to it. I find BJJ so incredibly effective, while yes it can't compete with a gun or huge knife etc, for one-on-one combat, especially when you want to control but not irreversibly injure the other person, I think it's the best. I recommend everyone try a week or a month. I would think there would be a strong positive correlation b/w RedPillers and affinity for BJJ if they do.

best class for self defense? concealed carry.

I'm not trying to shoot somebody who starts a bar fight

If someone is trying to pick a bar fight just laugh at them and get a bouncer to toss their ass. Seriously. That's literally what they're there for. Why submit to their frame? This is some of the "real alpha" shit that needs to go away. You're going to submit to their frame, and look like the fucking tool that couldn't avoid getting in a bitch fit at your local bar. Congrats. Then someone like me who picks up a bouncing gig as a way to drink cheap and keep current with the music that the kids are listening to these days gets to break up some sloppy gorilla shoving match because you had to show everyone just how big your nutsack is. I understand the idea of wanting to be able to handle yourself but the idea of "oh I'm going to smoke this guy because he stepped on my jordan's" is retarded. Congrats, your secret ninja moves from the government works. Then he hits you over the head with beer bottle or sicks you with a pen knife out in the alley 20 minutes later. There's a reason why Musashi said the best fight was the one that didn't happen.
Everyone wants to be Tommy Tough-Guy and think that they're going to learn how to be some action movie hero by taking a couple jkd or krav maga classes. Everyone wants to be a gangster until it's time to do gangster shit. If you want to get some discipline and exercise, do bjj but don't think it's going make you some street fighting machine. You said classes for self defense and yeah, the best option is a concealed carry for self defense and a good pair of running shoes.

I'm talking about times were you brush shoulders with a guy and he pushes you towards a corner and starts coming out you. There is no way out and it's you vs him.
Carrying a gun into a place that serves alcohol is a felony where I live

How many times in your life has this happened? If it's more than once YOU are doing something wrong.

I'm 200lbs, I was tired of getting injured by being paired with guys pushing 300lbs, so I stopped.
