“When dealing with people, remember that you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion.” -Dale Carnegie

Shed Emotions and Aspire to be a Pure Logician.

Summary:

Emotional input is detrimental to your decision making. Allowing irrational feelings to affect your goals is helping no one, especially not yourself. Meditation will help you attain mental clarity. Observe and learn. Your emotion is like brain fog that blinds you and does not allow you to see things for what they actually are.

Body:

It is to our own peril that we have let our emotions get the best of us. However emotionally satisfying, it would be in our best interest to have never entertained such trivial chemical responses in our anatomy.

However, we as human beings are prone to depend much more on our emotional stimuli. It requires lesser critical thinking upon actioning certain decisions. Which is, ironically, more often than not, much more damaging to our well-being in the long run and, considerably so.

When you think about it, we are the only species on earth with the capacity for critical thinking. I consider it quite bizarre that we don’t exercise it much more often than it’s emotional counterpart. We have evovled into a species with the powers of insight, yet we prefer our raw and primal emotions take over and get the best of us.

But likewise, too much thinking isn’t really any good either. Too much analytical processing and you would just end up with information overload. This is where meditation comes in. Meditation helps, it really does. At first I was cynical of the effects it does to your mind, but after months of religious meditation, you will start to feel your thoughts become clearer, your ideas much more fluid, and your reactive behavior much more natural.

Into the years that I have dedicated myself to a path of unending self improvement, I have come across TRP. Albeit, I do not adhere to all of its core teachings, I have applied every single philosophy and majority of its theories into my life. In that process, I have discovered that I am a Machiavellian by nature. Life has been much easier since then.

Conclusion:

Excessive attention to your emotion is not healthy and rarely is it beneficial for you. Step back, observe, and calibrate your actions in accordance to your environment. Remember that hindsight, even if 20/20, is unchangeable. Your have the power of foresight. Use it. Change what you can, plan for the best outcome, and be prepared for the worst scenario.
