UPDATE! So I got the job offer thanks to great referances. But before I got the offer, I had the 5 month review where both my bosses told me they were gonna offer me a new contract with a 10k raise. But they have to check AGAIN with the funding, so they would let me know in august.

How do i play this? Obviously im quite thrilled that I do have a plan B. My goal was to have work next year and not be uemployed. The offer from the other company is 1 year, 5k less. Offer B hasnt yet appeared but is gonna be something in the range of extra 10k a year?

Can I, SHOULD I tell my boss this news and how would i eventually do that? Or should I just bite my tongue and wait? What if the offer wont show up? Basically how should i play this.

The situation is Im on a year contract which started in february. I started with 3 others on the same contract in a 1 year project for the government.

A month or two ago, our boss told us that the budgetting where we work was tricky and that he didnt know if he was gonna get enough funds to employ all four of us.

Basically he was saying that he will have funds for maybe two of us, but he will have more info in august.

I had been uneployed for 5 months in 2017, before i got this position and the competion in my line of work is tough.

So i wrote an application last week, went to the interview a few days ago and the interview went well. When they asked me if they could call my employer as referance, i told them that i cant do that unless they offer me the position. They just called me a few hours ago asking about if i could give them a colleague as a referance instead.

How do i play this if I get the offer? Ofcourse i have a colleague to step in right now. I really wanna stay at the place i am now, but not on the expense of me being unemployed next year.
