I'm in a dilemma I'm sure most of you have faced or will face.

In my present situation I'm enrolled in a program in an in demand field. Starting salary is 50,000. In 2 years time, involving upgrading certification, I could be in the 100k club.

I'm 27 years old and prior to this I was in an awful dead end situation: no education or career.

My program is excellent and I'm excelling; my internship coming up is at one of the best companies to work for in the province.

The issue at hand: this career will provide me with comfort and financial security. It will also make my life predictable.. mundane. I'll be another cog in the wheel. Something in me yearns to live life on the edge, and I feel the opportunity to do so has a limited timeframe: while I'm young. Some of the things I've pictured are working on a ship, or going west and working on the oil fields.

The sensible thing to do would be to continue on my current trajectory. But that doesn't tug on my heart. I could be taking for granted what I have now. I want to live and take risks. I want adventure. Am I being naive?
