Hello Guys! I am 19.
Well before discovering TRP, I frequented the gym on an average of 6 times per week, amongst the other sports I do, including Rugby. This means I'm a big guy. I have an active personal life. I lived for myself well before discovering TRP, and lived, and continue to live for myself. Unfortunately, despite being a member of multiple sports clubs and other places, I have no social life, to which Autism no doubt contributes somewhat.
Personally, I believe that Autism can be made decreased by increasing social experience, which I always strive for, and attempt to take advantage of every opportunity to talk with someone else. The brain is plastic, and I firmly believe it can be changed completely by different ways of thinking and experience. Only a few minutes ago I attempted to "pick up" a woman at Pets At Home. Unfortunately, this did not go well, but I'm sure something will work eventually.
Now, I have trouble understanding implicit meanings, and it can be very hard to converse. Writing, on the other hand, is much more easy. When reading through TRP, it can take me perhaps 3 re-reads and a considerable time to understand most of the implicit meanings and sarcasm in a post. But I'm sure practice will improve my understanding.
Another problem I have had is talking to guys at my rugby and other sports teams. There is no conversation between me and them. There was a time when a guy from Rugby was pressing his ***k against my butt and I didn't know what to say I just turned and said no and pushed him into a wall. It's hard to feel a part of the team, but I like rugby. I also have some problems with creativity. By academic standards, though, I'm a pretty smart guy.
I am interested in developing my social skills, and applying TRP principles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
