Wait, so you tried to kiss her and she gave you the cheek or you actually wanted to kiss the cheek? If she gave you the cheek, move on. If not, the "nice try" was a signal to go for a proper kiss.

Wait for a few days and then call her up and ask her out. If she agrees to it, it is salvageable!

If you're going out with her again get it out of the way early. Let her know that you're planning on taking care of that kiss right away. She will think about it constantly.

Then, when you first see her actually do it. Grab her, ideally with your hand in her hair and pull her in. Don't kiss her right away and lock eyes, then kiss her.

If she refuses, rejects, pulls away don't even bother with the date IMO. if she's into you she will kiss you and then you can move on. Either way you know without wasting your time.
