[X-posting on The Red Pill as well]
Hey guys,
To begin with, I would appreciate if this is read as a prompt for discussion, not an attack or accusation.
So I just got finished reading The Rational Male. I read Models a few years back, and subscribed to that mentality for a long time before reading TRM.
From what I can observe, seems like Models is a more general (as well as) positive TRM, almost as if its a good starter book if you're just entering the PUA/Seduction/Self-Improvement/RedPill society. TRM, however, is a bit more specific in it's definition of the structure of our current society when it comes to the Sexual Marketplace, and thus I believe to be the better read.
While I do say that, I referred to Models as the good starter book because TRM can be a "tough pill to swallow" for lack of a better phrase (no pun intended.)
To follow that point, I personally am having to think through and restructure my mental perspective, which is a minute struggle so far, but a struggle none the less, so I assume it's a struggle for others as well.
All this to say, I would like to subscribe to The Red Pill on Reddit, but it's difficult to read anything from the "100% Red Pill" redditor perspective.
It always sounds absolutely devaluing of the female human being, and I feel personally from the way Rollo Tomassi writes that this is not his perspective. He seems to be very respectful of the female mentality in regards to what motivates them is completely logical/biological as it is for males as well.
As I was reading, I could see where this vigor or objectivity in the "100% Red Pill" redditor is created, which is that Rollo Tomassi's perspective can be easily interpreted as being completely objective of the woman's place in society and biology. But I think upon further inspection, you can see that Rollo Tomassi HAD to write this way in order to get his points across. If he was not assertive/aggressive in his writing, than the Beta male reader would not be able to realize the truth that Rollo was giving them. The Medium is the Message as he puts it.
In TRM, theres a section where Rollo talks about the different mental shifts that Beta males incur as they try to swallow the red pill, one of them being denial/nihilistic negativity (if I remember correctly, don't quote me). He states that the Beta male says "fuck all of this, I don't need to change for this situation, I am a good human being and I deserve better, yada yada yada"
Correct me if I'm wrong, other red pill subscribers, but it seems to me that that negativity is transferred into your current psyche in terms of how you see women. I feel that you read the book with the wrong perspective and are not utilizing it's information correctly or in how Tomassi intended. He does not EVER degrade women in his book in terms of their equal rights. He writes about the feminine imperative, yes, and when he writes about it, it can seem like he's writing that it is enforced by women, however, he always states that all of the things that occur are in service to the feminine imperative. When he writes about the feminine imperative, he means the feministic influences of society from the past 60 years. Not women pulling strings (although there definitely were women pulling strings for this to happen). You seem to take the perspective that all women are conscious of their efforts to enforce these things, and I would say that they might be, but I don't think that they are conscious of why they do other than that they should for "equality", which is an enforced social convention from an early age. While I put "Equality" in quotes, that is not to degrade "equality" but more to assert it as an idea of being.
However, at another point in TRM, Tomassi writes about how it will be difficult for Beta males to drop their "Romantic" ideals. I put "Romantic" in quotes because I am referring to the influences of the historic cultural movement of Romanticism on our society. To help you understand who I am, I subscribe to these ideals and have been surrounded by them all of my life, but I doubt I am of a select few, but really a part of a mass majority. To further help you understand, Mark Manson writes about how males are raised by their mothers more so than their fathers, thus not taught a positive masculine perspective. This was most definitely the case for me, my mother was a best friend to me (she's passed away now) and my father was very absent due to being a workaholic. I sought out male role models in uncles and other positive male characters, but that only puts a bandaid on the problem. Still I am working on it.
The Point of this Post
The reason I write this post is because I am concerned that I fall under that previously mentioned category Tomassi spoke of and I am just missing something. I'm currently working through my thoughts on who I am in a red pill society and need assistance and perspectives from other individuals who have been through the same transition. I don't mean to degrade anyones perspective or accuse them of malpractice (for lack of a better word). I realize it looks like I am attacking the Red Pill society and I want to assert that I am not. I respect others individual perspectives, I am just trying to figure out mine.
TL;DR Just finished reading TRM. Trying to transition into a Red Pill perspective but finding difficulty balancing my personal ideals/values with the RP perspective. Looking for explanations of Red Pill subscribers perspectives in order to compare/utilize to shift my own.
