I never understood why some people get so angry over a woman proposing to a man? Do they consider it demeaning to a woman?

Ironic considering men are literally expected to get down on their knees to propose, yet society deems that romantic instead.

Wow, a TikTok that didn't make me want to rip my face off in the first few seconds from irritation alone! (I don't use TikTok and I'm not going to. I see them on here and they just UGHHHH)

It does go both ways, though. I wish the breaking down of gender roles for women meant that we normalized and even praised men who look after the house and the kids while the women work, that when men are in danger or are being attacked, that women charge in to save them like the reverse is expected/demanded, and that we are as vicious towards abusive women as we are towards abusive men, by words and by deeds.

Bit of a rant, I have a lot of feelings on this, having lived for several decades as a woman stuck in a male body and all the crap that comes with it. I don't ask for special treatment, I barely ask anything at all, I just feel horrible for how I see so many men being treated like their status as a human is conditional and can be revoked over any perceived indiscretion.

The reason is very simple. Women have social control over the relationship ladder. If men did, marriage would likely not be a thing, or a much less important thing. Women proposing puts some of the control into men's hands, and that destroys the social power of women. It's a key reason why there are such angry attacks on women like my wife, who proposed to me
