The problem with what you did is that randomly telling a girl you like her is something unexpected and which doesn’t really make her feel anything.

You expect her to say what? “I like you too, let’s start dating?”

It ain’t gonna happen. Because she is not feeling the spark or anything. You are being rational and logical, you haven’t been intimate, you are not experimenting a romantic moment. It’s all cold, rational… There is no seductive vibe.

This means that the woman is likely to say she doesn’t feel the same way, that she ain’t ready to date anyone now or that you could be just friends.

This is why “confessions” are not really how you start dating anybody. I like you” and what? She ain’t gonna say i like you back so what then? Don’t you realise how forced and awkward this is?

It’s not about chasing. It’s not about declaring your official confirmation that you are interested in her like it’s a big step forward. The problem is you try to change a dynamic from friends towards something romantic and the girl is unlikely to go along with it because it just doesn’t feel right.

If you like a girl you should have hit on her from the beginning, not become her friend first and then randomly say that you want to go from friendship to romance .

You dug your grave and just waiting to be put in it. Never do that again. She’s really just taking time to say no and disassociate since you risked and most likely ruined the friendship. Funny thing is you might have been able to bag her but admitting your feelings gave her the upper hand.

Invert the way you’re thinking about this. You shot your shot & there’s nothing wrong w/trying to get out of the FZ as long as you’re straight up about it. Ball is in her court and you gotta respect her process and decision.

You can lighten the mood a bit by telling her something like, “I had to tell ya - you’re a catch and I’m not blind to it. I don’t want to overthink this anymore, and hope you don’t either. It’s not a chess match. I just like you, and if you’re on the same plane let’s give it a shot. If not, then not. But I think we have chemistry.”

That’s a shity first draft, but something along those lines. GL bro.
