I opened with a girl who was walking with two dogs. The opener was about something she was wearing. She stopped and was smiling. Was not in a hurry to go. However she stood almost two feet away from me and her hands were busy with two dogs. I was not sure how to go from "friendly" conversation to escalation.

I thought of saying -- hey you are cute and I want to see if I want to meet you again. What do you find attractive in a guy. However I was not getting any flirty vibe from her.
