Lmao how can someone be pleasant to talk to and a terrible conversationalist at the same time?

Anyway, both people should be putting at least some effort into the conversation and be cooperative when the other party tries to do so. You're not there to entertain her. And you should be less invested than her. However, the line in the example you gave was quite boring tbh, so you can work on it too. I'd say try some more interesting topics next time, but don't overdo it if she's not receptive at all.

Also, it could be that she's just shy. It's not always plain obvious when looking at someone. Try inviting her for drinks if you're old enough, many people I know open up more when tipsy.

Actually, that one is on you. You find these women uninteresting because you aren't really leading and inspiring the conversation. So you are in boring convos.

You are the man, so should be leading the conversation. Also, avoid close ended questions like the one you asked her. You could ask what inspired her to choose her major, or what are her favorite classes and WHY (the why is open ended).

You can always continue a conversation by LEADING. Just ask an open ended question. Share about yourself too.

The best thing to do here is to next her and move on. You're stressing about a girl you barely know and she can feel it. As far as she's concerned, she's got you in the bag. You can keep trying but I think you will eventually come to my conclusion as well.

Your conversation skills need honing. I dated a girl once who was extremely shy, she hardly said a thing but I talked her ear off. She loved listening to me, go figure.

It's your responsibility to make the conversation interesting, not her. You need to dig and find something cool to talk about.
