Back story: a couple months ago I came out of a long term relationship and had ZERO game. I'm socially competent and reasonably attractive and don't have much of a problem getting women to like to me once I've met them. Main problem is flirting (haven't had to do that in a LONG time) and kino.

Anyways, a girl that I had met a few times from my social circle started flirting with me. Thanks to the help of some savvy friends who left us alone at just the right time, we bounced, went back to my place and had some wild drunken sex. Long story short we hooked up again the next night, but I turned into a chump when she started asking me about my previous relationship. Then I got needy/clingy, etc. Bad buzz. Especially 'cause she's more of a one-night-stand party-girl.

Since she was a friend first I kept in contact (e.g "how was your trip?") but kept it mostly platonic, non-sexual, and infrequent. This may just have paid dividends.

The following text exchange happened today.

HB: Happy Birthday stranger!!

ME: Thanks dork! What did u get me?? :p

HB: Dork... That's so getting old :p Oh a present.. Hmmmm. What do you want? ;p

NOTE: I always call her dork. ALWAYS.

ME: Anything? That seems like a dangerous proposition...dork :p

HB: I'm good at stealing birthday balloons. Will find some for you :p

NOTE: Last time we were out she stole some balloons, left them in my car, and I damn near killed someone because of them

ME: Bring them inside with us this time...i don't wanna kill another cyclist!

HB: Cyclists are overrated anyways. But if you insist they can be explicitly for inside fun :p

ME: Ok you get the balloons and ill get the wine..my place or yours?

HB: hahaha wow that sounds really dirty ;)

ME: Dont know what you find dirty about balloons but hey ill try anything once...

HB: Oh. So you are serious about this balloon adventure? Interesting. Lol I might take you up on it :p

NOTE: did not think that would work.

ME: Since youre so pro I'll let you initiate me :) tues or fri?

HB: blah blah friday works

I did not expect to get a date(?) out of this!

UPDATE She flaked. Conversation as follows:

ME: got some stuff to take care of this afternoon..how does 8 sound for bowling?

HB: 8 is good for me!

ME: :) will you be on campus or at home?

unusually long time passes

HB: I think I'm going to have to bail out tonight :( I'm pretty stressed about school and would feel too guilty if I wasn't studying!

ME: Understandable..i should probably be packing anyways. Ill catch up with you next week :)

HB: Okay great!! That sounds good! Ttyl :)

It's the end of the semester so the excuse is pretty legit. I found the timing of the flake a little weird, so I suspect a better option may have come her way. Time to be patient.
