It's a defense mechanism, like a lot of their "red pill truths". If women are all bitchy, entitled and not worth chasing anyway then they don't have to place any blame or responsibility on themselves for failing to attract or maintain relationships with them. But on a deeper level I think it comes down to lack of emotional intelligence and communication skills. If you have one bad relationship thats one thing, but if the same arguments and problems pop up in many of your relationships, even non-…

A few of my friends in college briefly dated guys with 10+ year age difference...and hid them. They didn't bring them to parties, or show them off on social media, or even talk about them very much. On the rare occasion they did bring them out in public it was very awkward for everyone. Then they got with someone their own age and were suddenly showing them off all over the place. Not to be cruel but they were definitely embarrassed to be going out with someone so much older that they couldn't e…

It's even worse than that, basically a ground zero sub for indoctrinating and recruiting young people into RP or incel ideology. I've seen so many kids start out relatively normal if somewhat insecure or inexperienced then fall deep into hating women, society and themselves. It's sad as fuck.

Righteous anger is a motivating force. Black people are the ones leading the charge because they are overwhelmingly the victims of police brutality and over-policing in neighborhoods. This is absolutely worth acknowledging and turning a blind eye to the race factor just allows it to keep happening. There is a real problem with white supremacy in law enforcement, military, FBI, the flipping executive branch... It's not a coincidence that black people are targeted more often and suffer the worst e…

For men who identify as red pill it seems like they're clinging to status symbols of the past. On the surface it's: sleep with lots of women and you're a stud, admired by other men. Dig deeper and it's about maintaining dominance over women in relationships, propped up by many nonsensical beliefs about inherent male superiority/female inferiority. TL;DR they're insecure af edit: contrast them with men who rejected those old beliefs and grew up with/adopted gender equality as a new belief system

You want psychology in general, there are very few differences between men and women on that level and the few there are tend to be heavily exaggerated. If you want to understand why women behave differently than men in some situations (like romance) study history, specifically women's history and how women's status in society has changed over time. Religion and economics have a lot to do with how much/little power and status women have had historically.

 > women who are more reserved, religious to some extent and when married, prefer to stay at home (similar to the 50s-80s). Yeah those aren't the kind of women who usually hang around bars. Of the religious women I know, many of them got married shortly after high school around 18 - 19. As for this type: dressing conservatively more often than not, acting mature and taking life seriously more or less. They are the Type A's, career-oriented and not usually looking to become a SAHM. If you're…

No it's not looks, I have crushed hard on guys who were overweight or short or both, but they were also funny, smart and charming. Social competence is key way more than looks, ime. A handsome face wears off pretty quickly if the guy is tiresome. A guy who makes you laugh, who you can connect to on a more personal level can become the most beautiful person in your eyes even if he's not stunning right off the bat.

> I remember growing up being told that women should be put on a pedestal. They're the "princess", and you need to do everything to get their affection. I have this theory that concepts like chivalry came about as tacit acknowledgement of women's inferior position in society. But it's never stated so clearly because a. that would acknowledge a fault in men's treatment of women and b. it would upset the status quo of male dominance/female subservience. So we inherit this ancient, clunky, unfort…

If a woman cheats, she deserves to pay for child support and kids should go to father. Cheating isn't good for a relationship but its irrelevant to whether or not that person is a fit parent. Custody doesn't go to one parent to punish the other, its about the best interests of the child. Actually, human evolution started when women started to be extremely selective and changed to serial monogamy. That resulted that only 30-40% of men during early history of humankind had kids with about 60-70% o…

WRT communication styles it might be more beneficial to research both you and your wife's individual styles (there are online quizzes you can take) rather than looking at it like a man/woman thing. It was really helpful in my relationship to figure out I am more prone to acts of physical affection or labor in expressing love but shitty at gift-giving and talking about it overtly. My partner does his own style that is different and we meet in the middle. This website has a lot of useful material:…

You don't want to create an alternative to TRP because you just want those men who don't "get it" to shut up and keel over without inconveniencing you or making a fuss. Yep, not wanting women to be abused is just the same as wanting men to keel over and not make a fuss. How dare I point out the hateful shit on TRP without first solving men's dating problems. This is what people mean when they say RPers are entitled.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/18 06:02 PM
3

I'm an unbiased onlooker and you seem to have a real chip on your shoulder. Right, that's why you save your criticisms for people calling out TRP instead of for the awful shit TRP encourages. A few bizarre points sure, but anyone with half a brain will just disagree with the parts which dont fit. And take no responsibility for propagating bias and harm against women, of course. Just don't notice the strong correlation between "red pill" and the alt right and how men are being actively recruited,…

Yeah but that something stupid could've been Frisbee golf instead of "how to ruin a girls self esteem" and "do women really need the vote" bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/18 03:16 PM
3

No one cares about men being selfish, it's that TRP is teaching men to hate women and hurt them as much as they can get away with. It's because TRP recruits vulnerable men to alt right fascism. The idea that anyone is mad about men being selfish is laughable, and clearly just what RPers tell themselves to feel better about belonging to a hate group.

You're missing the key point: BS perpetuates ideas and behavior that keep women subordinate to men. It's not favorable to most women most of the time. How do these subjectively hostile and benevolent attitudes co-exist? As combined positive and negative feeling, ambivalent sexism might seem to induce cognitive conflict. Actually, ambivalently sexist men avoid this inconsistency (Glick et al. 1997); they split women into “good” and “bad” subgroups that embody the positive and negative aspects of …
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/18 02:39 PM
2

You surely understand the concept of "benevolent sexism" right? That's pretty much exactly what I described, only it's painted in a way that still looks at women as victims. Don't be fooled, just because the concept contains the words benevolent and wonderful doesn't mean it's a good thing for women. Contrary to the idea that one pole of ambivalence is suppressed when the other is activated, we thought that, in men's attitudes toward women, the very same men who said “can't live with them” were …

I'm a bi woman, I did think a couple of the average male photos were attractive. The second photo in this comment is kinda my type. Some of them even had attractive faces they were just a bit overweight like in this comment. For the women, like I said it was surprising because a lot of them seemed either above or below average to me. This is an average woman to me (or on the pretty side of average) and would probably be the gf/wife of one of the guys in the second comment I linked.

Men know that if your a women's first, you have a much better likelihood, both practically and statistically in staying with her long-term. Worried, concerned with, care about, whatever. The anxiety produced by the thought you might not be able to satisfy her/could satisfy her better if she had less experience is insecurity.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/18 12:57 PM

Right, so you're worried about satisfying a woman who has been with other men. That's insecurity. You avoid experienced women so you can alleviate that concern, not because virgins are so much better in bed or whatever.

These men boys typically have social status at school. I have a feeling these teachers aren't having sex with omega incels. Your comment is really sickening, tbh. Those underage boys have "status" among other boys and that's what makes adult women want them? Really?? Whatever it is that makes an adult want a half-grown child is a mental illness, not a sexual strategy and certainly not one that would pertain to the general population.

This is a lot different than "can't stand a woman rejecting them". The guy I replied to said RPers would get mocked for complaining on TRP. On the contrary, I think RPers complain a great deal but other RPers will lap it up if it sounds derogatory to women.

Your argument is simply to remove responsibility for the man to speak up for himself or remove himself from a situation he doesn't want to be in. Person A wants sex with Person B. Person B wants to fool around but not have sex, they make this known to Person A. It's now on Person A to either accept Person B's offer to just fool around or reject it, NOT on person B to immediately leave...that is incredibly bizarre unless Person A did something offensive. It also seems like you're insinuating a wo…

TRP works great on a subset of emotionally damaged and oftentimes sexually abused women. They typically put out easier and more often and are more likely to accept their place as a FWB. Why do you think RPers always deny this when non-RPers say it? And don't you think those tactics are kinda scummy?

And women who make false rape accusations also use their power and influence to threaten careers and reputations. It just seems like kind of a non-issue, where are all these women who are using metoo to falsely accuse awkward men? Society enforced chastity for women because it benefited men. There have been means for both birth control and abortion since antiquity. Many of the methods employed in early and primitive cultures were non-surgical. Physical activities like strenuous labor, climbing, paddling, weightlifting, or diving were a common technique. Others included the use of irritant leaves, fasting, bloodletting, pouring hot water onto the abdomen, and lying on a heated coconut shell.[5] In primitive cultures, techn…

its not an imperative. It's everyones individual responsibility to ensure they are being fulfilled. First off I agree with your point that many RPers and RP ideas, especially the more emotional and hostile views, seem to be coming from the lower SES end of the spectrum. Think Matt Forney, RooshV, the top mod of TRP, none are super wealthy, high SES kind of guys and they're big on outrageous, click-bait type material. Where I disagree is that high SES folks don't also have terpish views of their own, they're just better educated and better able to disguise the bias. They don't really subscribe …

Annoyed would be more accurate. Even if women are more neurotic than men there's no causal relationship between that and working in tech, other than Damores delusions.

Unsurprisingly the comments ITT are a huge circlejerk. These people who have no problems harassing people for conservative or un-PC ideas such as, "I don't think women enjoy tech work on average relative to men" This seems like a glossover of what he said: it was due to biological differences and women being more neurotic, biotruths essentially. Can no one else see how incredibly insulting that is and why people were upset? It wasnt just "hmm women dont seem to like tech as much!" What do you th…

Its almost as if even after keeping a low profile for years the internet just won't let go. The harassment reached a new level of creepiness last month when an employee at a liquor store took a screenshot from surveillance footage of Chanty at the store committing the dastardly act of buying a bottle of wine and put it online, effectively telling the world where she lives. my god

Im not really agreeing with those people, but I wont disagree with them in favor of someone doing the same thing Calling someone out on their shitty behavior or beliefs isn't "doing the same thing". This is in line with those that argue calling out racists for being racist is racism. One is a belief system or behavior that actively oppresses one group, the other is defending against that oppressive belief or action. Stop with this "both sides" nonsense and ask yourself if you really want to live…

Who cares what its called if it means the same thing? Because TRP says they have the "truth" and "advice that works" unlike what "delusional BPers" either can't or won't acknowledge, but their "truths" have been watered down to the point its the same "BP" advice you can find literally anywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 11:35 PM
1

I think that's a bit naive, they quote actual passages stating plainly that women are inferior. No one disputes that at all, not even the ECs.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 11:33 PM
2

I don't think there's enough detail to support that interpretation here.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 03:24 PM
8

At that point it's not negging, it's just teasing but I can see you're simply trying to conflate the two to score for RP. I think many RPers are becoming aware that their ideas are bad advice and that's why they have to get watered down: negging becomes teasing, dread game becomes 12 steps of hygiene, backing down from the original RP definitions and replacing them with "blue pill" advice everyone already understands.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 02:39 PM
7

Over time RPers have backed down from the original definition from PUAs and tried to say that "light teasing" = negging = red pill, and why wouldn't they negging was such a bad, cringey idea to begin with. But teasing still isn't negging.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 02:33 PM

Eh, you can be embarrassed at being called out for fucking up but did he attempt to lower her self-esteem with backhanded compliments? Anything less is just white-washing the concept to make it look like a less shitty tactic. You're reading too much into a brief story without much detail, IMO.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 02:28 PM

What did he actually say though, that's not much to go off and claim he was "negging".
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 02:21 PM

Impossible to say if it's real or not but I believe the same experience could happen to a man, yeah. I do think it's kind of laughable to say this guy "negged" her, unless you're using the loosest possible definition of "light teasing".
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 02:14 PM

I agree those ideas aren't hard-wired, that's the trouble with spreading them around like like that - they can be learned and adopted. I disagree that I'm doing the exact same thing because I'm not posting a bunch of garbage about men being inferior to women. That's the thing you don't seem to understand, it doesn't matter if they're doing it to "avoid oneitis" or to "center themselves", they are continuing to spread and applaud revolting and sexist beliefs about women. This has to do with women preferring men making more of the moves, like asking them out, being the dominant one more of the time in bed. Women aren't being forced to endure this, women just aren't up to asking men out...But the point is nothing is preventing women from playing the dominant role in approaching men for sex. You only see part of the picture: women are aware that we're "supposed" to be pursued, and that women who pursue can be seen as desperate or low value failures, and feedback fr…

The right to get an abortion isn't "free shit I didn't earn", what the fuck kind of logic is that? How would one even go about "earning" the right? they seek to limit government involvement in people’s lives Kind of like how TRAP laws limit women's access to abortion? So why are conservatives pushing for more government involvement in the realm of abortion and not less? Sexism and control over women.

We already had the argument over abortion being a fundamental right, I'm not doing that again. Refer to the link I posted. conservatives seek to control sex and sexual conduct. Only the upperclass had the option to not work (ever heard of "men of leisure"? rich dudes with no job). Women have always performed hard labor alongside men. Men have been protectors, sure. They died in wartime. Women died often during childbirth, whether there was war or not, so trotting out the old "men died to protect you" is ignoring half the story where women died to give life.

What you eat and when is what matters and most people don't know that. But yes, I don't care about a woman's health at all. Not surprised.

You can be skinny and unhealthy, after all, but losing weight is very very simple. So as long as she's skinny who cares if she's healthy, right? CICO works for a little while, then your body needs even less calories and more exercise to maintain the same weight. Soon enough you're fat again.

“Circle Jerk” is a pejorative slang term referring to a positive feedback loop which occurs when an idea, belief or meme that is already customary within an online community becomes re-iterated and rewarded in a perpetual cycle, giving rise to redundancy, clichés and karma whoring. A circlejerk on reddit commonly takes the form of a sequence of low-effort replies using sarcasm to affirm a belief and "cash in" on karma for agreeing with the prevailing opinion. This includes posts which imply that…

/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/17 05:17 PM

laws are meant to be broken by the cunning and wise That's a pretty stupid platitude when plenty of people who break the law end up in prison. The law obviously has a great deal of power whether it catches every law-breaking individual or not. Can you explain how "purchasing power" (guess I'll get Ivory over Dove soap!) is more powerful than being the majority in charge of writing and enforcing laws that can strip individuals of their freedom and lives?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/17 04:03 PM

In particular, men out earn women and yet they are willing to hand over those earnings and give women 80% of the power in the marketplace. Is that really the case? None of those women are single and/or using their own earnings? There is a saying that behind every man there is a woman. The green box is clearly attempted rape, the red box is rape. Yes, green = attempted rape and red = completed rape green box + red box = 1 in 4 rape statistic blue box (coercion) and orange box (unwanted sexual contact) are not included in 1 in 4 statistic
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/17 06:51 AM

Rape and attempted rape, that would be the box highlighted in green. "Attempts at using these behaviors that were unsuccessful also count in the survey in a separate but included category which makes sense to me if the purpose is to express risk - a victim is a victim whether the crime was successful in its purpose or not."
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/17 06:40 AM

Then the 1 in 4 statistic is disproven because the 25% bunch here is for coercion, not rape. No, that is wrong. Coercion is not included in the rape category at all. The sections that make up the rape category are the ones that meet the legal definition of rape: "insertion into an orifice by force, threats of harm, or through drug or alcohol incapacitation" edit " the rape category is at 6-8%" where are you getting that from?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/17 06:32 AM

Your interpretation is incorrect. Coercion is a category that was measured but not included in the rape statistic. The narrator says exactly that at 4:10 "any answer of a or b gets counted as coercion, not rape" and 4:40 "So just to really come out and say it, insertion into an orifice by force, threats of harm, or through drug or alcohol incapacitation are what are counted as rape in the survey results. In all the reports where specific terms are used, such as 'rape', or 'without my consent', the findings are much lower. That is a huge problem, people who rape or have been raped don't always realize what they did or what was done to them was rape but if you and I saw someone forcibly hold down another person and have sex with them against their will that would still be rape even if neither of the two believed it. The goal of equality, of feminism, is ultimately fairness but perfect equality can be imperfect. People like you tend to take a very hardline approach to equality and often ignore that treating people exactly equally doesn't always produce fairness. For instance, it makes no sense to give men a say in abortion because they don't become pregnant, they face none of the physical pain or permanent bodily changes that women experience during pregnancy, none of it, so how would it be fair to give men …

It would be called Equalism if it were about equality. sigh https://www.reddit.com/r/AskFeminists/comments/66a5f6/why_isnt_feminism_called_humanism_if_it_is_for/ There are other ways to not make men parents without giving them a choice in abortion. It has nothing to do with equality. The birth control thing is an example of that. Abortion is another. How do you figure that? Feminists aren't holding back male birth control and men don't become pregnant so there's no way for abortion to ever be equal. They are for the benefit of women. Their impact on equality or men doesn't enter into the calculation to push for the measure. Men benefit from women having birth control. Other forms of contraception like condoms were free from Planned Parenthood as well, I benefited from them giving away bagfuls to my boyfriend. Encourage fathers to nurture. One detrimental result of restrictive gender roles is that fathers are discouraged from nurturing their children. By telling fathers that nurturing is meant for mothers, we are encouraging their absence during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Unfortunately, (and especailly with children) women have unilateral control. The “heighten value” part would be passive dread, as explained in the 12 levels of dread post. Oh yeah, it comes off like such a cop-out though after having seen so many examples of "active dread" on their forum, and how they will use it in very petty circumstances (example 4) and not as a "last resort". Like "passive dread" is an afterthought they invented to make the original dread game sound less awful. So yes I acknowledge its a thing, but I also think its kind of a cop-out.

It's the idea that he could leave or cheat very easily because he has options, not that he actually has to directly imply that he will. I think we agree on that part, I just don't think you have to actively do any of the things TRP suggests in order to get that across other than be an attractive person. Dread game is just being and looking like a man who has options. That's clearly incorrect based on the posts by RPers I quoted in the EC. "Dread game" is a vague term that has no exact definition. You seem to define it as "fearing for your relationship", I define it how the RPers define it, I quoted several examples.

Knowing your partner has options and isn't afraid to pursue those options if you get shitty is probably beneficial though. That doesn't require any of the behavior RPers proscribe though, people know you have options if you're attractive - no dread (as described in the examples above) necessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/17 04:54 PM

The idea of dread is to "heighten value" of the partner though. In their own words, RPers describe the point of dread is to make her fearful of getting dumped. The "high value" portion of it secondary to that, if anything. Seriously, just look: To purposely set out to create an appearance that you would or could cheat on and/or dump your partner, unless they comply with your demands. Dread game, or fear of relationship loss, apparently doesn't work to increase attraction though, feeling like your relationship is in trouble leads to a decrease in commitment and affection. So even if "beta game" helps, fearing for your relationship is still not doing what RPers claim it does, actually it does the opposite.

You would have to assume all the women see in the experiment see their partner as low value for this to not be true. But really the low value/high value man thing doesn't make much sense to apply here, it's focusing on fear of losing the relationship. If women didn't care about the men and relationship then the idea of losing them would have no impact whatsoever. But the idea of losing the relationship, whether we know the woman's personal idea of high/low value, seems to kill feelings of commit…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/17 03:21 PM
4

Your conditions would be impossible and unethical to test, having men purposefully "dread" their gfs and wives for an experiment would never happen. The study lays out a situation where they manipulate the variable "risk of relationship ending" aka "dread" as described by RPers above in their own words, and it leads to a decrease in commitment and positive feelings in the relationship instead of increase in affection that TRP predicts.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/17 03:15 PM
8

They're still distributing the advice to other men and telling them it will work, that TRP is "the truth". RP ECs are supporting the advice in the comments. The only excuse RPers have had for years is "TRP works, unlike delusional blue pill advice" but even that doesn't appear to be true. So it would seem TRP has no credibility and no value other than appealing to cheaters and woman-haters.

Yeah hiding sexual intentions or being too pushy, neither is ideal. To clarify, what I mean is if you're on a date that already involves sexual intentions (meaning you both know you're interested in each other enough to go out) and some people will push that into sexual expectations, like they expect sex just because they're on a date. Even when I point out the leader of TRP subreddit, or a number of ECs or prominent MRAs like Karen Straughan and Paul Elam hold a certain view, MRAs and RPers still cry No True Scottsman, that's not all of us wah wah wah. Even if I pull up a post with hundreds of upvotes and comments in agreement it's still somehow cherry picking. Tell me how that is an honest discussion. Either way, the feminists MRAs take issue with really are often outside the main feminist movement, like TERFS or Valerie Sol…

Basically, I think a healthier approach is trying to teach men how to convey their interest in better, safer, non-pressured ways, rather than just tell them "try to grow your relationships out of friendships" instead. I've honestly never heard anyone give or receive the advice "grow your relationships out of friendships", but I agree teaching people to be sexual without pressuring or intimidating would be better. The reason I say sexual pressure is more to do with what I've heard RPers preaching…

You can rape and be raped without realizing it if your only concept of rape is stranger by gun in a back alley. Or that only men rape and women are raped. Or that rape can never occur between "normal" people in "normal" relationships or marriage. And you believe rape myths like it's not rape if she wears a revealing outfit, or you pay for her dinner, or she flirted earlier. Rapists don't always know they're raping, victims don't always know they're victims.

I'll attempt to CYV on this part below: Because of this, I believe that one thing the red pill is right about is that it is almost always to your advantage as a man to make your sexual interest known early. Not just because it can save you from wasting time, but because, generally speaking, if there's no spark there within your first few times of interacting with a woman, the odds that you can change it in your favor are slim to none. An archetypal woman would stay safely in the cavern by the fire while the man gets out to fetch food and wood. In most HG societies men hunt and fish, women gather plant foods and small game. In some cases plant food counted for most of the diet, not meat. Women would often fetch water and fire wood as well. Even in societies that relied mainly on hunting by men for food women still made clothes, built shelters, preserved the meat, etc. Please stop spreading evo psych nonsense.

If a guy has low test and isn't wealthy or attractive - being faithful is 100x's easier then a rich man, who is very attractive with high test. That's not really a matter of faithfulness but of opportunity. If you would cheat given the opportunity, even if you have none, you're not faithful but simply waiting for the chance to cheat. If you wouldn't cheat given every opportunity, that's real faithfulness.

From what I've read about cheating it seems to have a lot more to do with power than sexual offers, and as women gain power in society (not being housewives with no income of their own) that makes them as likely to cheat as men. I'll look for the study, brb. Data from a large survey of 1,561 professionals were used to examine the relationship between power and infidelity and the process underlying this relationship. Results showed that elevated power is positively associated with infidelity beca…

Edit: "I can't dispute what you say but I don't like it so I'm downvoting you" Formal power is what matters though. Even the people being influenced by sexual power are doing so voluntarily, they can abandon the other person anytime they want and retain all their real, formal power. What's more women's sexual "power" was heavily restricted for most of our history, a…

Having a college degree doesn't necessarily translate into a well-paying, high-status career. One theory is that men pursue college degrees less because there are more male-dominated fields that pay well like tradework and don't require one, while female-dominated fields like teaching do require a degree but pay much less.

I don't think it's as simple as you're making it out to be, most murderers don't walk around with a sign plastered to their face "hey I"m gonna murder you". If there are no social restrictions on women riding the CC, they will demand high value Alphas and only be fully satisfied with this. Even if this were true (I don't think it is) that's not good enough reason to restrict and punish women for wanting hot sex just like men want. If some men don't get laid in this scenario, well, it's better than the alternative of going back to making women dependent on men and all the horrors that accompanied it.

Why is my facebook feed always filled with puppies cuddling baby ducks and stuff like the cinnamon challenge instead of people making serious posts about the reach of American imperialism, the modern-day repercussions of colonialism, slavery, or capitalism? You can criticize nearly any group on the planet for that kind of sensationalism, …

And then, more popular and more mediatised articles about laws developed against manspreading??? Come on though, that's not exactly an issue at the forefront of feminism; it had it's 5 min of fame years ago on twitter and the only time I see feminists talking about that is when anti-feminists bring it up (hint: a lot). "all men are rapists" "all men should be punished" "there should be laws for men to be forbidden to talk to women" and other shit that is all about misandry and discrimination. I'…

It's not relevant because there's no reason we have change people like myself that are civilized and look down on promiscuity. garble garble? A tribal society in bumfuck that probably eat each other Nice, real open mind there. I think we're done.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/17 02:18 PM

That difference is irrelevant in this context because we are not going back to hunter gatherer tribes. If you're questioning and fighting against outdated slut-shaming practices towards women that have for so long been justified as "natural biological instincts" then of course the difference is relevant. That explanation is dead wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/17 02:09 PM
2

actually slut aversion is a bad example because i dont actually beleive slut aversion is biological ermagerd we are in agreement?? but openign up the convo in general culture and biology are a dynamic system and ar enot distinct, Yes, agreed although the I would throw environment in there too. All of them influence and shape one another. the culture a group creates comeout of its biology and then shapes its biology into the future That sounds like the biocultural model of anthropology.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/17 01:56 PM
3

To be clear, are you saying humans learned slut shaming from their culture or that humans evolved a mechanism to be disgusted by female sluts after societies became agricultural/pastoral? The difference being, if you took a baby from say an agricultural slut-shaming society and raised it in a society without slut shaming, would he still grow up to feel instinctive disgust for female sluts or would he need to learn it from his surroundings to feel that disgust?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/17 01:39 PM
2

But many of those HG cultures lack the kind of slut shaming and restrictive roles for women we see in ancient and modern agricultural societies, which suggests they aren't instinctive but learned. It makes much more sense that humans adapted to a changing environment and formed new societies and rules rather than having evolved an entirely new biological mechanism for instinctively being disgusted only by female sluts. Especially when the societies that feature slut shaming and slut disgust have…

My point is RPers say be yourself means be a slob and don't try when that isn't the common understanding. It can be a useless platitude in some contexts, but it doesn't mean that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/17 02:35 PM
2

You've never seen kids try to fit in with different cliques to win someone over? I did say my example was cheesy but that's the context I hear "be yourself" in aka don't act like someone you're not to get girls (or guys). Or alternatively, it's said to people who are worrying in a "just relax, you'll be fine" way. Literally no one means "be a slob and don't work on yourself at all", that's a strawman you guys fall back on to blame others for lack of success.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/17 01:58 PM
5

That's the RP strawman, most people understand "be yourself" = be the best version of yourself/don't act like someone you're not or you'll attract people who don't really like you. Ex. Kind of a cheesy example but imagine a high school kid trying to dress/act like a jock to impress some jock girl when he's actually into music and artistic stuff. He gets the girl to like that jock version of him, but he's not happy because he's not being himself and once he goes back to artist mode he gets dumped…

According to the bloops and feminist discourse, simply being attracted to a woman based only on looks without taking into account her personality is objectification already. Uhh, who have you been speaking with? I can't say I've ever heard a feminist or a BPer argue just finding someone attractive is objectification. In all states a man's gross income is used as his income for child support. It can be gross income depending on the state. Unless you live in one of the few states that uses gross income as a basis for setting child support amounts, your net income (what's left after the allowed deductions) becomes the money from which you pay your child support obligation. Different states use different methods to allocate child support payments between parents. Most use percentages, and the percentage usually …

The snark in your comment is not justified as you didn't answer my question at all. What I asked for was a source for these statements: Often times child support is 50% of his take home. Also, 15-38% of alimony payments is considered his income. And from the looks of it, alimony payments are deducted from taxable income: When you pay alimony, the payments are deducted from your taxable income, lowering your tax liability.

TRP says that women benefit from divorce financially while men suffer. This is indisputable, here from the horses's mouth: This is why feminism pushes to increase alimony and child support. In the USA where feminism is completely unchecked, women can meet another man and profit from having two providers instead of one. Alimony and child support will ensure her lifestyle isn't the one that suffers. The only risk a woman has for leaving her husband is if she's too old and ugly to hook another guy.…

Which counts money that men pay to their ex wives as the men's income. And doesn't count it when figuring the woman's income. It does count it, under maintenance income. They say that they are better off than they would be had the government not forced her ex to hand over half of his assets and income. It's not likely at this point in time but even today fathers are much more involved with their kids, much more likely to ask for custody than a few decades ago. plus cash social security and social assistance receipts from the state, less income tax payments, employee National Insurance contributions, and local taxes. I think the author is saying the net income is total income such as wages, pensions, etc. minus income tax payments, employee National Insurance contributions and local taxes, which is the same as the definition I quoted you earlier of gross income - taxes/expenses = net income, not that net income is somehow not taxed if that's what you'r…

Each couple's situation is going to be different, some won't be able to afford that kind of flexibility and some can. Ideally, both parents would put in roughly the same amount of childcare, housework and working hours which would help narrow the respective gender gaps.

Its not illogical, most couples decide on their own that the kids should go with the mom. When cases are contested in court custody is based on several factors in the best interests of the child: children's ages needs of the children each parent's ability to meet the children's needs relationship between the children and each parent relationship between the children and other family members keeping stability in children's lives children's physical and mental health physical and mental health of …

Single men are better off than married men who are better off than divorced men holding all else the same. Who are better off than their divorced female counterparts, which is the exact opposite of what TRP claims. This really isn't hard. I know, how are people not understanding this. TRP made a claim, that claim is false. The end. Where did you get your definition, because that sounds like available income which is very different. Here For a wage earner, gross income is the amount of salary or …

Some men would actually want to take care of the children, yet custody is granted to the mother the majority of the time. Would it make things better if men were granted custody of their children more? Like I quoted from the article, the way to narrow the custody/financial gaps are to better balance work life and child care between mothers and fathers: fathers get more claim to custody, mothers are financially better off after divorce. That sounds like a win-win to me.

Expenses that a lot of men have to get a second job to pay for. You are measuring income which is at best secondarily effected by a divorce. Are you basing that on something concrete or just speculating? The Guardian uses the phrase available income which is found nowhere in the paper. The paper uses a widely accepted definition for net income which is essentially income less taxes. net income is the final amount of profit or loss after all expenses are included I don't see the issue with the ar…

So also stop stigmatizing stay-at-home dads and more often favor dads more as custodial parents. This is something I and many feminists 100% support and is the take away message of the second article. We need more balance between mothers and fathers working and caring for children for the financial gap and custody gap to narrow.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/17 07:14 PM

Comparing incomes and poverty levels of men and women overcomplicates the matter and isn't even a direct measurement of what you are intending. TRP says that men are worse off financially after a divorce. Numerous studies say this is wrong. How is that over-complicating the matter?

Sure, I hope no one understood this as me saying only hot men get lots of female attention. Wealth and fame are obvious factors too, and some plain looking guys can be very funny and charismatic. The difference I see is women will flock to handsome men, their attraction is genuine, but they just seem to hang around rich/famous guys as obviously hired arm candy, not out of actual attraction. Edit: to elaborate, Trump is rich and probably has a sky high N, but who actually finds him attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/17 12:53 PM

Even if inheritance was agreed to go down the female line, men would still not like being cucked. Why don't you read up on life in matrilineal societies to see if that's actually true? You are arguing that because some tribe of 100 people somewhere in the tropics focused on hunting and warring was sexually unrestrained, civilized people in the civilized world should have been as well, lest it's OPHRHESHUN You don't seem to be grasping my argument very well.

it wasn't out of malice or the desire to oppress that this was done. I have no idea why you keep saying this because that's not what I think. Men do not like being cucked. Women also don't like being cheated on, but the part about restricting women's sexuality specifically comes from patrilineal societies wanting inheritance to go down the male line and restricting women was a way to ensure (not always, and not very well mind) a pure male line from father to son, or some other male relative. Again, ignoring that RPers have literally told me the admiration comes from hard work, not standing around being hot. Sorry, that's feminist nonsense. The aversion to sluts came first, society has just codified it. So, no. Patrilineality, also known as the male line, the spear side, or agnatic kinship, is a common kinship system in which an individual's family membership derives from and is recorded through his or her father's lineage. It generally involves the inheritance of property, rights, names, or titles by persons related through male kin. It was necessary to restrict women's sexuality, for them to remain virgins until marriage because men wanted paternity certainty to pass their property, land, etc. to the…

I agree that men are thirstier (for certain reasons we would probably disagree on) but as has been explained to me the admiration for studs comes from working game, not relying on looks. This isn't the only reason sluts are shamed, there's a long history of denying and suppressing women's sexuality that pre-dates modern slut-shaming. I see the slut vs stud debate as modern day people rationalizing to themselves centuries old values about female chastity that don't even apply to our society anymo…

I've been told countless times that's it's about casual sex being "easy" for women while men need to "work hard to game women into sex" and that's why studs are admired and sluts get shamed. But IME, good looking men just walk into a room and women start making themselves available to him. Flirting, giving extra attention, help or praise, etc. Women aren't that different from men, just more subtle I think. But those men aren't doing anymore "work" than standing around being gorgeous.

That's pretty interesting, personally I would love for western societies to be at the point where no one gives a damn if you're gay, trans, whatever. I think it's more difficult for us in the west due to the lingering hangover of Christianity and its feelings about non-straight, non-heteronormative folks. Very attractive men don't need "game" in the TRP sense, because women are highly attracted to them and interested in them anyway, so they can just be nice, right? It's on easy mode for them, so they can just be nice, and women will be highly receptive, as long as they're reasonably masculine. But no "game" is required for them. They can be nice. /r/PurplePillDebate06/09/17 09:22 PM

I think because toxic masculinity is used first and foremost to change men into acting in ways that women can control and influence better. Men that are mostly feminine are quickly made to be below women in society, and women's treatment of them(eww, so creepy) reflects that too. OP, again, this is not neutral enough for discussion. You lost the argument the moment you did the usual feminist tactic of claiming that all of the male-centric groups are the same. The Red Pill and the MHRM are not the same. I think most of us know groups like TRP and MRA have different goals and interests, it's the hate for women and feminism they all share that makes them similar. It could be argued they hate a fair number of men, too.

iirc the Jake/Josie thing wasn't around for long and it was like one campus. The rest of your examples aren't saying any drunk woman having sex is being raped, they're noting the common method of guys getting women super wasted to the point of being incoherent is rape. That taking advantage of someone too drunk to give meaningful consent is rape, especially if they're a stranger/hook-up without the trust or understanding a couple might have.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 01:26 PM

You see, but the problem here is that while it might partially sounds reasonable on paper, in reality it offers an umbrella under which any woman can hide. Ok, no. Most rapists walk free. Most women don't make up false rape accusations and of those who do even fewer do it for revenge or regret. Because while feminists claim that they're just advocating female sexual autonomy, in reality they're for all intents and purposes advocating for a woman having untouchable interpretational authority over…

Kipnis often describes sexual assault allegations in these terms. She says that there was a consensual sexual encounter, and then, months or years later, someone “retroactively withdraws” consent, converting what had previously been a permissible sexual encounter into an assault. So my best friend was stalked for several months in college. She worked on campus and part of her job was helping people get set up on the public access computers in one of the few public buildings any non-student could enter and use the facilities. There was one regular, a guy a couple years older who she said seemed nice and chatty. After they'd known each other a few weeks they add each other on Facebook, where he proceeds to lose his fucking mind. He sent her multiple messages trying to sell…

As other have pointed out, it's a guide not the law although I agree that there are plenty of non-verbal cues that can be taken as consent and being tipsy doesn't negate consent. My issue is with those who act like paying attention to your partner and taking note of red flags like stopped reciprocating or responding gone silent and/or rigid seem like they're not enjoying themselves and checking in to see if they're ok is too much to expect, not their responsibility, etc. It's kind of sickening t…

Everytime this topic comes up it becomes obvious some guys would rather risk raping someone than stop to check in and see if they're ok. Some are actually insulted by the notion they should pay any attention to their partner's well-being at all (not muh responsibility reeeee!!).

If a person is having sex and then wants to Stop, is no longer enjoying it but continues anyway because they don't want to displease or disappoint the other person, is that considered rape? If they make no effort to say or do anything to stop it then no, but I wouldn't consider it sex anymore either just one person giving another permission to masturbate with their body. I'd also ask how the other person doesn't notice their partner's not into it anymore, not reciprocating or moaning in pleasure…

justifies giving women the power to seriously fuck up any guys life with a lie. Ok, I disagree women actually have that power based on how difficult it is to report and prosecute even a genuine assault. And if you take a look at how women branded "false accusers", even if they're not, are treated you'd see it's not just men being treated unfairly. I agree with you that there are issues within the justice system, within the press, some that especially affect men, but to act as if women have been …

I am pointing out that handing half the population a tool to fuck the other half over at whim, with little to no consequences to liars if caught, is dumb. My point is there are consequences to reporting rape even if you've actually been raped, and that most false accusations don't follow the "she just regretted it later" narrative that RPers tell themselves. Simply saying women can screw a man over on a whim when many who report assault, even genuine victims, are treated with suspicion and disbe…

The Steubenville High School rape occurred in Steubenville, Ohio, on the night of August 11, 2012, when a high-school girl, incapacitated by alcohol, was publicly and repeatedly sexually assaulted by her peers, several of whom documented the acts on social media. The victim was transported, undressed, photographed, and sexually assaulted. She was also penetrated vaginally by other students' fingers (digital penetration), an act defined as rape under Ohio law. Or I was drunk and cheated on my BF/hubby. better say I was raped to avoid those consequences. While that does happen, it's far from the most likely scenario in a genuine false rape accusation. Skeptics — including many police officers — tend to assume that false rape claims are made by women who had consensual sex but later regretted it, or who are trying to get back at a consensual sexual partner. According to the research, many police officers look for "red flags" that might reveal accusers' …

You can withdraw consent and stop having sex at any time for any reason, if your partner wants anal and you don't he doesn't get to keep fucking your ass because you consented to PiV initially. If you want someone to stop because the sex is hurting, they don't get to keep fucking you until they're done because you consented earlier. That is what is meant by revoking consent after sex starts, not just deciding later it was rape because "omg I'm a sloot!" made up RP straw feminist .

You see it sometimes on MRP: man is married and getting sex but wants some secret strange on the side, or a mistress, and it's usually explained as men have lots of sperm so the male imperative is to fuck lots of different women while women's imperative is to put her limited eggs in one alpha basket (based on old study on captive flies, of all things). You also see this explanation a lot on the main RP sub but it's more about spinning lots of plates than justifying cheating.

Why are women, more than men, driven to quit due to workplace pressures and stress? The article went into more depth but basically women are expected to also be performing household chores and childcare on top of the stressful work hours and conditions. It can be difficult to manage. women are factually more risk averse That's debatable, some cross-cultural studies on risk preference have shown interesting results.

I'm not going to reply to multiple comments but I will point out that one of your links is citing Archer (2000), which is made up of many studies using the original Conflict Tactics Scale. The CTS had a number of flaws, among which it didn't take into account the context of the violence (defensive, protective or antagonistic), it didn't include sexual assault and it only asked about incidents with current partners (much DV takes place after separation) within the past year.

You are still ignoring the part where women are also being arrested and discriminated against, although I concede simply being arrested when you're the victim of violence is probably trauma in itself, and would be an awful experience for man or woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/17 12:56 AM

I don't think that's the whole story, not when many women have experienced not being believed or even arrested when they were being abused. Edit: fwiw, height, weight, potential for injury are also helpful for determining aggressor in same sex couples, or where the woman is much larger/heavier than the man. And if height and weight were the only things the cops had to go on for arresting the man, lacking signs of injury or struggle, priors, etc. that would be a pretty weak case.

Women are more likely to be emotional, and scared, and even if a man is emotional he's more likely to be angry and outraged that his partner hit him, meaning the police won't provide him the help he needs. Most DV is reciprocal, but men usually get in trouble for it, whereas women do not, due to primary aggressor laws. Primary aggressor laws are supposed to encourage police to look at the context of the violence rather than equating self-defense, for example, to a pattern of abuse. Does any of this seem unreasonable? Police must identify which injuries are due to self-defense and which are offensive injuries. The police must also look beyond the visual evidence and consider the context of the act …

If one guy says he likes big titted blondes and another guy says he likes bookish brunettes is the second guy lying and "virtue signaling"? Or is it possible different people can have different tastes, and a woman who likes muscular guys doesn't invalidate a woman who likes smart guys? Could the world possibly be more complex than WOMEN ONLY LIKE CHADS LYING BITCH IS JUST VIRTUE SIGNALING BLARGLEBARGLE!

Plus in the context of the show, whenever the doctor gets a new body it's supposed to be random. He just happened to get straight, white, male British guy like 12 times in a row, there have been other time lords who were male/female. It's not literally implausible or anything to be female once in awhile.

Everything in the study was purely hypothetical and this was known to the people in the study. Are you talking about the 2nd study? Where does it say the participants knew? Procedure. Participants were asked to provide feedback on the materials of an undergraduate science student who stated their intention to go on to graduate school, and who had recently applied for a science laboratory manager position. Are you talking about this? Hardly occult. For example, if a task can only be solved by representing the geometry of the layout, we do not see a difference between men and women. But if the task can be accomplished either by representing geometry or by representing individual landmarks, girls tend to rely on the landmarks, and boys on the geometry. To take another example, when you compare the shapes of two objects of different orientations, there are two different strategies you can use. You ca…

I already addressed this, RPers often confuse blank slate theory with theories about socialization and learning. When you say "blank slate theory" that is something entirely different and inaccurate so of course you will get people laughing at you for saying so. RPers tend to subscribe to gender essentialism, that most if not all gender differences come from biology rather than learning. Feminists and BPers say it's a mix of both. If you want sources you can refer back to the ones I linked earli…

This passage is from The Origins of Sex Differences paper I linked to you earlier (the authors are referring to evolutionary psychology and social constructionist theories): Social structural analyses suggest an evolved organism, but one in which evolutionary pressures yielded a variety of dispositions, such as the capacity for group living and for culture. These analyses do not imply that people's minds are blank slates, because humans possess facilities, such as for language, that develop in c…

There were some, decades ago before neuroscience had made much progress, that believed pure social constructionism was the only answer but that hasn't been the case for a long, long time. If you're arguing based on that you're like 50 years behind. Modern feminism has moved on to a more nuanced understanding of nature and nurture as you can see in the links I provided, but if you would prefer to cling to what was believed decades ago before science advanced and isn't relevant to most feminists a…

My point about communication style was purely about the politician study. It obviously doesn't apply to the STEM resume study as the resumes were identical and there was no interview. My original point was that the same effect (men and sometimes women seeing women as less competent) repeats in several other studies beyond the political one, which makes your gender communication argument not very convincing, to me at least. That's not what blank slate theory means. John Locke in his Essay Concerning Human Understanding restated the importance of the experience of the senses over speculation and sets out the case that the human mind at birth is a complete, but receptive, blank slate ( scraped tablet or tabula rasa ) upon which experience imprints knowledge. Can you reply to one comment at once? This is getting too convoluted answering multiple comments. The idea of gender being a social construct created by society is not the same as saying everyone has the same brain. You only need to look at other cultures' views of gender to see that it's a variable, social construct.

All I wanted to point out to you is that your theory of men having a different communication style doesn't hold out when you look at the second study, because the faculty looked at the exact same identical application but with randomized gender. Seriously, why do you keep ignoring that the application was identical?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/17 12:53 PM
3

For all you know, the effects of the differences in communication style show up even when they're not speaking in that particular case as a kind of echo effect. These studies don't occur in a vacuum after all. Did you not read the part where the applications were identical? There was no difference in communication style. Maybe the men are more skeptical of the gender-bias evidence because they're tired of being told that they're biased against women in science a priori? And the mountain of suppo…

You don't think saying men have a communication style better suited to politics isn't jumping to conclusions or confirmation bias? Can you quote where it says most pregnancies come from an alpha? And since it seems like you've changed your position at this point and are no longer insisting that female primates choose only one mate, or that human women would prefer to be on an alpha harem, we can put that to rest.

It contradicts you saying "a female primate will only choose one mate" It shows female primates seek males other than their "alpha" Gives a more sober description of female primate behavior than "she accepts beta sperm because the alpha is too busy to impregnate her", which I'm not sure how you could even determine anyway because you'd have to know what the monkey was thinking to figure that. A harem member is motivated to cheat because the bigger the harem, the greater the chance of not being impregnated by the alpha...So you accept beta sperm as better than no sperm. No, not exactly. Did you happen to see where I posted this above? I'm pretty sure that female primates are usually not choosy during estrus I point out that this includes estrus because earlier you said bonobos exclusively mate with the alpha male while fertile, and because it shows female primates choose more than one mate, regularly it seems and during all phases of their reproductive cycle, counter to your initial claim that a female primate chooses only one mate. There are hundreds of primate species, and virtually all of them use harem mating. One species is highly promiscuous, a tiny handful do pair-bonding. And quite a few show polyandrous mating preferences so I have to disagree that harems are any sort of default. If that were the case how are the above examples of females, in estrus, seeking multiple mates even possible? I disagree since women also feel love and see their partners as unique, and you could argue that those men are confusing their fear of loneliness for love and their resentment of their perception of women's greater options as "women don't love the same". It's essentially coming from a place of lacking and scarcity when love is...well everyone will describe it differently but love is more selfless, and wanting the other person's happiness and well-being as much as your own. They are two completel…

Whatever you say, but this The fear comes from the fact that you'll potentially look at years of loneliness and lack of sex because you won't find someone like that again. is just pure fear and scarcity mentality, I would never want to be "loved" like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/17 01:29 PM

That's a decent explanation, you're probably right. It's just petty to paint it as women "aren't capable of love" when it's really just scarcity mentality.

The man feels a more desperate attachment because if he loses his woman he's potentially looking at years of loneliness and lack of sex. That's not really love though, that's fear.

That guy Adam Frost did in fact form his men's society, with the support of the feminist society on campus. The request for the SFU men's center is currently under review. Not feminists shutting them down but the school choosing not to fund their group. When I said I was looking for examples of feminists shutting down mens groups I meant actually stopping them from happening, not just protesting them. Protesting is not suppression, feminists are allowed to exercise free speech as much as anyone …

Women are less likely to orgasm from casual encounters than men...might have something to do with it. Edit: link here The gap, which is closely linked to cis-women, comes with the publication of a new study by W.W. Norton whose findings proved that college women have “orgasms half as often as men on repeat hookups and only a third of the time in first-time hookups.” Men aren’t only lacking in casual hookups, though. One, major feminist organizations weren't really involved in Gamergate/anti-gamergate. And they are also large, public-facing institutions with a lot of money and a lot to lose. So I'm not sure how reasonable it is to use lack of harassment by Ms. Magazine, for example, as a point in favor of anti-gamergate. I understand they have more to lose, but the point I was making was Elam is supposed to be a leader of the MRM and held to a higher standard than some forum poster on AVfM, but that's the be…

I'll grant that on an individual level insults and mockery (I'm as guilty of this as anyone) and doxxing are done by liberals and conservatives alike. Can you read this summary and tell me if his assumption still makes sense? In statistics many statistical tests calculate correlations between variables and when two variables are found to be correlated, it is tempting to assume that this shows that one variable causes the other. You'll find that's not true when it comes to Hunter Gatherer societies. Of course some are more patriarchal, but many are more gender egalitarian. Women aren't just fuck holes / baby machines, that's more typical of post agrarian societies. On balance, the study of hunting-gathering peoples in the world today suggests that there probably was no ancient matriarchy because there was no "archy" (power concentration) at all. Once more, just because two variables correlate doesn't mean one causes the other, this is basic. He's presented his opinion, that's fine, but a solid argument that is not.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/17 12:47 PM

Again, can you directly relate unhappiness to equal rights? Because naming a list of items is pretty meaningless without showing causation.

I can believe that's your take on it, but a lot of those guys seem to really think women are the scum of the earth and barely human compared to men. More likely those kinds of statements draw in men who already believe them or are in a state where they're willing to believe.

Some of them are truly despicable, and seem to really hate their wives/gfs/"plates" to the point you wonder if they're only keeping them around to torture and look down on. Really, there is no evidence so far that any true equivalent to a patriarchy has existed (as in women hold most of the power, status and privilege in the society). I could be wrong, but if you know of an example bring it up. The Red Queen by Matt Ridley Are you able to pull quotes? It's quite an old book, too are you sure it's still relevant? It's common sense and basic logic. If eligible bachelors are scarce (as they are in polygamous societies) Ok, can you show the society we're talking about …

You mean matrilineal, no one has found evidence for a matriarchy so far. Matriarchal cultures are more hypergamous and polygamous. Therefore competition between women is much stronger. Citation needed. Higher competition for sexually desireable mates compels women to engage in more risk-taking behavior in order to achieve any success, and I suspect probably in spite of their natural inclination Citation needed. Futhermore, in tribal societies versus a larger more individualistic society, culture…

One thing to keep in mind is our brains physically adapt to our actions and thoughts. Men in our society are encouraged to take risks, while women are often discouraged from doing so and this may very well lead to physical differences in the brain. Something to chew on, if women were truly predisposed to be more risk averse how do you explain the equal rates of risk-taking behavior from the cross-cultural sample?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 11:19 PM
7

Nice theory but "harm avoidance" or risk-taking is culturally based, not a genetic predisposition for women. We use a controlled experiment to analyze gender differences in stereotypes about risk preferences of men and women across two distinct island societies in the Pacific: the patrilineal Palawan in the Philippines and the matrilineal Teop in Papua New Guinea. We find no gender differences in actual risk preferences, but we find evidence for culture-specific stereotypes. Like men in Western …

That's not my understanding of how the information was presented. More like: "Our report shows over 30% of the [city] earthquake victims suffered injuries or death." And then they cite the specific report that stat came from, which has the exact breakdown of deaths and injuries. The point is the stat describes a general harm of sexual assault that women experience. It's not like they group together something awful like rape with something that's totally fine and would be misleading - sexual touc…

Your being entirely ignorant here. Be civil, don't insult others. If someone doesn't state it in the report they are writing they did that for a specific reason. They did state it. Do you really think saying rape and/or sexual assault has no bias behind it? No I don't and I'm very confused as to how you see it that way. They don't say 32% have been raped, they say 32% had been raped or sexually assaulted. The 'or' there is not a trick, it's not a lie, it's not bias - it's a part of speech signif…

If you're referring to the one in four stat, they do distinguish between rape and other forms of sexual assault and the number does repeatedly come out to about one in four or one in five.* Edit: this often includes attempted and incomplete rape attempts, but I think that's fair enough to include since rape was the goal.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/17 02:43 PM
3

The studies I've read have always distinguished between different forms of sexual assault and don't equate bum swatting (ha) to rape or sexual battery. Sexual assault is sort of an umbrella term that can cover anything from bum swatting to rape, but the researchers make a point of distinguishing and breaking down the numbers by category.

doxxing: search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the Internet, typically with malicious intent. I'm not going to spend a lot of time finding those. You have Google and I'm certain you'll find a reason to dismiss literally anything I present. Your argument amounts to what you bring to it, one example is not "regularly". But you did show an actual example, congrats on having exceeded my expectations of you. So out of curiosity would you also consider this unsubstantiated claim by AVfM about feminists sending death threats to their conference to be false and they're just "hiding their tracks"…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/17 07:31 PM
1

Feminists get caught pretty regularly sending those messages to themselves. Presumably the rest are just better at hiding their tracks. Examples? You claimed those fake death threats are why MRAs and feminists can't work together? Consider looking at a mirror. What feminists have sent threats of rape, physical violence and death to MRAs? Also, you look into a mirror not at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/17 06:25 PM

Your link shows exactly none of this. It does, but I suspect you may have skipped over quite a bit of it. So he's "threatening" to call her out if she makes false statements. What's unfair about that? What false statements has she made? How is this any different than, say, encouraging readers to contact (via publicly available info) a Fox News host to express their disagreements with his statements? When "talking like a man" = "women are less intelligent and hateful divorce raping harpies" of course you should expect criticism. I think it depends on the reason for killing. If it's for a practical reason getting someone else to do it makes sense, men do this as well: gang leaders have lesser members do their dirty work. I have a question for you now: if you were Mike in the above situation and one of the women who didn't want to sleep with you did get an illness only you could cure...would you want to sleep with her if she was only doing it for you to heal her? If you knew she had no attraction to you at all and was only doing it to save her life would you really be ok with that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
