At least you have someone you can mirror yourself in. There are really people out there whose entire lineage is filled with losers.

It must be so rough to look at your parents and realise they are losers. To realise your lineage is filled with losers.

I disagree. The people you should observe are whoever you deem most successful. Watch the actions of someone succesful and try to replicate it. What may constitute as succesful is different to each person.

If that’s the case then there shouldn’t be a wedding. You should just go to the court house.

It’s just fake. You could make that commitment over dinner
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:47 PM

I just view it as hollow. The whole “I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with you” speech doesn’t make sense when you’ve already lived more than 50% of your life span. As I’ve said earlier it’s also a highly traditional spectacle. It doesn’t make sense to value something traditional when that same person have lived a life opposite of what’s considered traditional.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:53 AM

Agreed. A wedding is also highly traditional. It does not make sense to have a traditional ceremony when you haven’t lived a traditional lifestyle.

CMV: Marriage is not an old age activity. Marriage was intended for young people to find “the one” and grow old together. It was not intended to be a large Galla hall for people in their early 30s, late 30s, and 40s. It’s — in my opinion — a bit pathetic to care about your wedding as someone old.

You’re straw-Manning. Pointing out women’s homophobia is not manipulating women to date bisexual men. Women are not homophobic for refusing to date bi men. Women are refusing to date bisexual-men because they are homophobic.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 02:40 PM

You’re straw-manning. No one is forcing you to do anything. This discussion is about self-introspection and facing the biases you may or may not have. Hope that helps…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 02:18 PM

The discussion is about self-introspection. A lot of straight women are homophobes, and that reflects itself in their dating choices. Women are not homophobic because they refuse to date bisexual men. They refuse to date bisexual men because they are homophobic. I think society would be a better place without homophobic people, and it’s therefore important to have these discussions. Bigots usually don’t think they are bigots.

Making a comment on an online debate forum is not coercing women. No one is holding a gun to your head… The definition you put in does not apply to this discussion.

You’re right you don’t have to date anyone. That’s not my argument though. My problem is that your argument is logically inconsistent. The only difference between a bisexual man and a straight man is the bisexuality itself — ie. his attraction to other men too. That is the only variable that makes him immediately disqualified. I thought about using an example with a strawberry, but since you brought on single moms we can use that too. It’s like me saying “I wouldn’t date a woman who is a single …

Firstly, what does “some women” mean? Two women or 200.000? If I have to find evidence for my quantitive statement, then so do you. I don’t understand why you think you’re exempt from providing evidence for all of your claims, but expect others to do so. Secondly, your articles and the studies — validity aside — do not explain why women are disgusted. They explain stated reasons and not actual reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 01:22 PM
10

Your primary argument in this post is very bad. You’ve expressed that the reason women immediately disqualify all bisexual dudes is because of a subset of bisexual guys “bad image”. This is what’s known as a generalisation. Generalising a group negatively is the dictionary definition of a prejudice. Your post is admitting that women are prejudice towards bisexual men. Prejudice is also the precursor for homophobia. The definition of homophobia is: “[…],prejudice against people who are lesbian, g…

Firstly it’s very rich of you to expect me to provide basis for any of my claims when you haven’t either. Your entire post is unsourced speculation. Secondly, There is no explanation for why women are disgusted. There hasn’t been done any studies — as far as I’m aware — on what triggers homophobia in women. Your entire post is a speculation for why women are disgusted. It’s like making a post about why Pete doesn’t like the taste of strawberries.

The reason it kills your attraction is because of homophobia.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:40 PM

The discussion is not about “getting in”. It’s about self-introspection. Asking yourself why you think the way you think is very important. Do you think bigots walk around thinking their world views and prejudices are wrong? Obviously not.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:38 PM
5

You don’t understand what the word “coercion” means. Open up the dictionary.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:35 PM

I completely disagree. The reason is pure disgust. The vast majority of straight women are disgusted by the idea of having sex with a man that has sex with other men or find other men attractive. This value-proposition argument — besides your use of vague phrases — should translate onto men too if that was the case, but it doesn’t.

I’m certainly not mad. The thing is it’s very hard to have the discussion because it boils down to “it’s icky” as the primary reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:18 PM

No one is mad, and no one is demanding for straight women to date bisexual men. The discussion is about why straight women immediately disqualify bisexual men.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:15 PM
1

There is no functional difference between a straight man and a bisexual man. The only difference is that the bisexual man also has attraction towards men. The root of the problem is the mans attraction to other men, which has nothing to do with the inter-partes relationship of the (bi) man and woman. What the bisexual man is being disqualified on is solely his attraction towards men. That’s the only variable that changes. This singular variable has no barring whatsoever on the relationship, but …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:11 PM
2

Who they’ve previously slept with doesn’t matter when it comes to their inter-partes relationship. People in committed monogamous relationship don’t sleep with other people. In the confines of a relationship their past doesn’t have anything to do with the functionality of the relationship with a bisexual man.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:59 PM
1

I completely agree. I feel like whenever this topic is brought up you’re just going in circles with these people. I think the only thing I can compare this discussion to is the n-count discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:55 PM
3

The problem is you categorising straight men as functionally different to bisexual men. Besides bisexual men’s orientation how are they functionally different? They aren’t. Why do straight women care about orientation? There is no functional difference so in practice it shouldn’t matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:49 PM
3

You’ve redefined the definition of “straight” to suit your own argument. Being “straight” means you’re attracted to men if you’re a woman. Bisexual men are men. The reason straight women are overwhelmingly attracted to straight men is because of disgust, which is the entire topic of this discussion. We are legit just going in circles.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:19 PM
2

Sexual orientation is not the same as physical appearance. You can’t see on someone that they are bisexual or gay unless they behave within the social norms of what’s considered queer. You can’t see on visibly see if a woman is white, tall, fat, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:10 PM
4

Gay men aren’t attracted to women at all. Straight women are attracted to men (100%). Bisexual men are men. Therefore straight women should be attracted to bisexual men, but they aren’t. The immediate disqualifier is the bisexual men’s attraction to men too. Straight women can’t articulate the cause for why they won’t date them because there isn’t any that makes sense.

Why aren’t those bots and scammers showing interest when I use my own pictures? Just lol at this explanation. Believe what you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:03 PM

It’s cause and effect. The cause is disgust. The effect is unwillingness to date. I dont eat broccoli (effect/result). The reason I don’t eat broccoli is because I think it doesn’t taste good (cause). Straight women don’t want to date bisexual men (effect/result) because they are disgusted (cause) by them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:56 PM
4

I’m not bisexual, but I think it’s an important discussion to have. Straight women are not homophobic because they refuse to date bisexual men. They refuse to date bisexual men because they are homophobic. They innately have a disgust towards male on male sex which is why they can’t see themselves in a relationship with someone bisexual. The funniest part is who men have sex with ie. their sexual orientation is part of their sexual history (past). In this very specific scenario straight women ac…

You could say that about every single interaction on any dating app. The facts of the matter is that the catfish profile in every single metric outperformed my own. Amount of likes, amount of matches, response time from women, enthusiasm in response etc. the difference was so large that it became irrefutable evidence. I remember when I first fell down the looks pipeline I would catfish as male models on dating apps. I had seen a lot of the “Chadfishes”, but I didn’t believe it. Truthfully I refused to believe it. I thought my experience — a couple of likes and matches from women here and there — was the experience for all men. I was genuinely so delusional. I’m by no means ugly. Every “question for women” thread always turns into shit. A few women know how to stay on topic and actually discuss the question, but the vast majority just stray into whatever nonsense they want and disregard the topic entirely.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 08:16 AM

I’ve made a response to this point at least 3 different times..
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:51 PM

I’m of the belief the why is always important, but before you can argue “why do women view [blank] as a negative trait” you first need to connect immediate qualifiers to something being viewed as negative.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:49 PM

It’s very important for me to know if you’re on the spectrum? My post is not complicated but it seems as though you’re struggling to grasp the point I’m conveying. Perhaps I need to “dumb it down” a lot more so that you’d understand. This comment is written in 100% good faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:46 PM

This post isn’t about the person who has the trait. The post is about the person who has the negative disqualifiers. If someone is rejected because of an immediate disqualifier the person who is disqualifying definitely sees that trait as a negative.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:44 PM

I think most straight men would give a very precise explanation as to why they wouldn’t date a trans woman if that’s the opinion they have.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:41 PM

Nothing. My post isn’t concerned with the validity of the disqualifers. We haven’t reached that point yet. First we have to come to the consensus that certain traits are negative. After that we can examine why they are viewed as negative.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:03 PM

If it’s an immediate disqualifying factor then it’s not neutral…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:01 PM

It’s a negative trait to you… Or else it wouldn’t be an immediate disqualifier. You inferred my views (this post) was the result of mental illness. You thereby called me (borderline) mentally ill. That was uncalled for and served no purpose.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:00 PM

It’s important. Dating is a numbers game. If you want to optimise your options and you understand what the other gender views as immediate disqualifiers then you can adapt and change to fit most people.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:58 AM

Please point to where in my post I used the word “bad”. My point is that for you distance is an immediate disqualifier. I’m not concerned with the validity of immediate disqualifiers I’m only concerned with pointing them out.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:57 AM

I’m not concerned with the validity of the disqualifiers. That’s not for me to judge. My post is an observation.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:53 AM

My post has nothing to do about morality. If a conservative doesn’t want to date someone liberal then that means they view liberal negatively.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:51 AM

This is a nothing response. It’s an ad hominem that serves no purpose to the discussion. If a woman views white as an immediate disqualifier then obviously she views whiteness itself as something negative and there is subsequently nothing that can be done about that. It doesn’t change that they view it as something negative though…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:50 AM

Something that’s “not right for me” is something negative… You view getting kids as something negative and that’s okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:39 AM

It’s important for maximising your dating prospects. If you don’t know what a lot of women view as immediate disqualifying factors then how can you improve your odds? Dating is a numbers game after all. If a lot of women have fatness/low amount of money as an immediate disqualifying factor you could get in shape / earn more to have better dating prospects.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:36 AM

When you quantify the immediate disqualifying factors and you realise a lot of women have them then you can behave accordingly.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:29 AM

My post is about the subset. If 100% of men are excluded then obviously this post doesn’t apply to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:24 AM

The difference is as a straight man you don’t find any man attractive. 100% of men are excluded. If your disqualifying factor would be money and you were gay then you would find men attractive, but not men who make under [blank amount] amount. In this scenario you could deduct that low amounts of money is a negative trait to date you. I don’t get how this is hard to understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:23 AM

There is something to debate for the people that disagree with my post. Since you’re not one of them this post doesn’t apply to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:15 AM

My point was that this doesn’t seem to apply symmetrically to immutable traits within the sex you’re attracted to. As a straight man, “being a man” isn’t part of your dating pool to begin with, so it’s a category exclusion rather than an evaluation among potential partners. As a straight man, men aren’t in your dating pool so you’ve already excluded them.

An above average income does not make a man more attractive. The difference between earning 60K and 175K is negligible to men’s dating prospects. It’s first when you increase the pay by around 15x that it means something. Even if that is the case; Those same men can just stop improving their western wage and go to a different country.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 06:29 AM
12

If every man improves then no man improves. The baseline for women’s attraction is the minority of men. Women do not deal in absolutes they deal in relatives. Women do not care that a man makes 200K if that’s the average. Women do not care that a man is 6’4 if the average is 6’4. Women want a man better than average which means most men by default won’t be good enough. What men can improve is negligible.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/26 08:49 PM

The thing is who decides what’s dirty and what’s not? I think very few men would live in a dirty house, but what you may consider dirty is different to what a man may consider dirty. That’s why women do more of the house work, because they find it necessary to do “maintenance” more frequently.

In 99% of relationships someone is gonna have a lower tolerance for cleanliness. You fall down to the lowest denominator. In my opinion it’s unreasonable to demand the person with the “uncleaner” person to raise their level.

All right I acknowledge that women invest something in the courting phase. However men generally invest so much more in the courting phase that it becomes negligible whatever little bit women invest compared to men.

“Men complain about having to court when they’re only interested in sex” I disagree with this statement. At every turn in the courting phase the man is investing his time and money. The woman is investing — compared to that — nothing. At every turn either party can say “I don’t want to see you again”. That means the man is the only one who has to carry the burden of the financial loss if it doesn’t turn into a relationship. The man is therefore more invested in the relationship to work. Claiming…

The reason men complain about the social dance is because the woman gain more than the man in the courting phase — and women know this. In a traditional sense the societal expectation is that men have to initiate the date (ask her out), plan the date, pay for the date etc. The burden in the courting phase solely lies on the man. Even if the man wants to spend time with the woman — all of the expectations and demands surrounding the relationship falls on the man. Even if the man likes the woman a…

Non of what you wrote in your response refuted the title. Women control the grey area when it comes to sex precisely because they are the ones you have to ask. They view sex as something demanding, as if they were the employer or co-worker per your examples. Women view sex as something they can leverage the same way the employer views the raise as something they can leverage. The “dance” is pure jestering.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 02:16 PM

You need to look at the situation in its entirety. First she said idk, then she invited him over to her house for a second date. That certainly needs clarification.

That depends on her viewing “not seeing him” as something bad. Some women would view it as a dodged bullet if a guy sent them that message. Either way that’s for her to decide. There is nothing wrong with ultimatums.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 01:24 PM
1

She invited him over to her house for a second date. He then sent a voice note where he expressed his intention. “I would like to have a sex. If that’s not possible I feel like I’m wasting my time” I am paraphrasing.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 01:23 PM
-4

She didn’t say no other, which is why he asked for clarification. She wanted their relationship to be in the grey area. He didn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 01:21 PM
2

He asked for consent and gave her an ultimatum. He isn’t obligated to take her on dates and continue seeing her if his desire isn’t met. If she doesn’t want to have sex that’s fine. He will thereafter stop seeing her. He wanted clarity on whether he was going to have sex and that’s why he sent the voice memo.

Are you dense? If you listened to the voice memo and the original video he asked her on the first date, she then invited him over on their second date and between the first and second date he sent the voice memo. He asked for clarity before coming over.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:23 AM
6

Women have largely expressed 1) that they want men to express their intentions and 2) express their emotions. The voice memo guy is an example of a man who expressed his intentions and expressed his emotions. Women have a problem with that. That’s the topic of discussion. I don’t care that he is socially inept or whether this was a good strategy. I’m concerned with women saying they want x, and when they are presented with x, they don’t like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:22 AM
1

She isn’t obligated to give him consent. He is giving her a choice and asking for clarity. You’re presuming that if she says yes, he is gonna rape her… which there isn’t anything that points towards. She is well-within her right to say no after he asks. Do you understand? You’ve conjured an imaginary scenario where he is actually a rapist who wants to cover his tracks for court. Absolute lunacy.

I think a lot of women would disagree with this take, but idk.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:10 AM

Cool. That’s exactly what the voice memo guy didn’t do. He asked beforehand and made his intentions clear. He told her “I want sex”. Ie. Making his intentions clear. And that’s apparently a problem. My conclusion from your response is that it’s better to hide your intentions and not communicate.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 10:57 AM

You absolutely did presume Ill-intentions. If she express “yes we can have sex” and he came over and then she said “you know what, I don’t want to have sex” she is within her right to do so. No one is saying that she isn’t. The problem is that you’re presuming in the scenario where this would happen there is a possibility of him saying “I don’t accept that answer, you will be raped now”. Which is absolutely insane.

A lot of women like grey areas because it benefits them. If you don’t ever give a direct answer to a question you always have plausible deniability — which is what this scenario shows. There are more women against the voice note than men. Men like and appreciate clarity a lot more than women.

Vague nonsense. You didn’t address the point I made. You just typed whatever you wanted to type. Whether high n-count plays into patriarchy is irrelevant. Unacceptable to who? A persons sexual past is just information. If that information is fundamental to whether the man wants to enter the relationship it would be wise for him to obtain the information. Whether she wants to disclose it is her prerogative. To have this discussion its first important to clarify what a marriage is. A lot of people have a different opinion of the purpose of a marriage. I haven’t had one argument in this entire thread for why the social obligation should fall onto men. I hope those “shy and naive” men you talk about never fall under peer pressure. It’s completely nonsensical.

If two people go out to do an activity, they are both liable to pay for the activity. The only reason the man has to pay for the bill is because of his gender. The expectation is not rooted in a promise. It’s rooted in something that the man didn’t have control over — the gender he was born in.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 05:05 PM
1

Then my question is why does the duty of “being nice” fall on the man? Obviously I would like an experience for free instead of paying. That goes without a say for both men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 05:02 PM

This is the point of my post. The problem is the assumption. In any other scenario the assumption is that the bill is getting split.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 04:59 PM

But if a woman says no, don’t argue with her In the classical example of a dinner date where the bill comes after you’ve eaten and nothing about payment has been talked about prior: What is a woman gonna do if the man tells her that she has to pay? She doesn’t have a say. The man paying isn’t an obligation. It’s out of courtesy. In that example the bill is getting split whether the woman wants it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 04:58 PM

Mostly in Europe. I have an inkling that the people who are telling me that the default is the man paying are from the US or other third world countries.

It would be very pleasant if the men advocating for paying for the first date would admit this. “If we had to split the bill on the first date, I wouldn’t get any dates at all”.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 03:39 PM

I did make a point, but I guess you struggled to catch it. In your example (the quotation) the man deviates from the default by expressing that he will not pay, which means the default is that he has to pay. He is giving a notice. Why does the man have to give the notice that he doesn’t want to pay, instead of the woman giving the man the notice that she expects for him to pay. It’s a shame you didn’t understand my post. I’ve also reported your comment. Be civil.

Well that’s obvious, but you aren’t paying for one ticket or one ice cream. You are paying for two. Why does the man have to foot the bill for another persons enjoyment? No woman wants to be some old man’s caretaker when she’s only in her 40s It’s not “some old man”. It’s her partner. Whom I presume she has grown to deeply care for the 20 years prior to him needing care. Taking care of your loved ones is usually a moral obligation in relationships. Every obligation is burdensome, and who wants burdens? If the woman decides not to be with him because he has become too much of a burden — ie. the cons of the relationship outweighs the pros — she can leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 09:47 AM

Connotation ≠ meaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 09:41 AM

There is something very fundamental that you’re not understanding: A relationship can both be interdependent and transactional at the same time. The transaction is the outcome of the relationship. The interdependence is the relationship itself. Did you even read my post?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 07:40 AM

Yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 06:25 AM

A relationship is by definition two or more parties interdependent on each other. If you weren’t dependent on the other person you wouldn’t enter the relationship. The expectations is what comes out of the relationship. Most people have an expectation that their partner is gonna be faithful. That means both people are obligated to be faithful. If there aren’t expectations and obligations, there simply isn’t a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/26 06:23 AM

Being faithful is — in most relationships — an obligation.

The problem is that the word transaction has a negative connotation, when used in a relationship context. Most relationships are both transactional and mutually benefitting. The moment someone doesn’t see the relationship as mutually benefitting, that’s when they break up.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/26 06:32 PM

I fully understand what people mean when they say “transactional relationship”. When people describe a relationship as transactional, they mean something along the lines of two people not actually liking each other but getting something from each other (often money but not always). If they actually like each other then people wouldn't describe it as transactional, even if it would fit the dictionary definition, because it's not a specific kind of transaction they find undesirable. The people who…

"Transactional" as traditionally used in language usually has a negative connotation. Why? Because some things are considered "more transactional than others." Prostitution is considered more transactional than sugar babying, which is more transactional than FwB (sex for sex), which is more transactional than marriage (implied to have some degree of sacrifice involved). You’re presuming that either party requires high amounts of “compatibility” when they enter a relationship. Why either party enters the relationship is completely irrelevant for you and I. What’s relevant is whether both parties can consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 07:23 PM

The people who say “the brain is first fully developed at 25”, got no clue what they are talking about. They don’t even know what “fully developed” means in a normal context.

This is genuinely a laughable example of you trying to absolve yourself of breaking the rules. You replied to me after I replied to you, grouping me into “you weirdos”. You’re blinded by American imperialism. No one asked the US to do anything. On one hand the US puts economic sanctions on emerging economies and then on the other hand sends care packages through the UN. US foreign policy is not about aiding other countries, it’s about global expansion, and it has always been. You’ve just viewed it as something more noble because that’s what you’ve been taught by your elders. The only reason the US invaded Venezuela was for personal gain (ie. Oil). Nothing noble…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/26 08:04 PM

I’ve been to the US and I’ve lived in Europe my whole life. If you think Europe is doomed I seriously wonder what’s happening to the US. The US is a third world country compared to where I live.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/26 07:21 PM

Lmaooo if my question isn’t loaded with anything explicitly you cannot call it a loaded question. You genuinely don’t know what a loaded question is lol. You could say every person has a “hidden assumption” when they ask a question. That would mean all questions are loaded. It’s fine to say you don’t know what a loaded question is, but don’t imply my question is loaded if you can’t say what it’s loaded with. There is no “hidden assumption”.

What are you talking about? Those variables are not present in my question. My question itself is not loaded with anything. A loaded question is for example: “Have you stopped cheating on your taxes yet?” The question itself implies that the person that is being asked is already cheating. That’s the entire premise of the question. Nothing in my question is loaded with anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:17 PM
1

Your question is about what constitutes as a steak. It’s a question for clarification. When we agree on what constitutes as a steak, then you can answer the question. That’s not what (a slight majority of) women on ppd do. They obfuscate the content of the question and add/remove things so as to answer a question that they want to answer and not the question that was originally asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:15 PM
1

You don’t know what a “loaded question” is. There is no premise in this question. But for amusement sake, I’d like to ask what is my question loaded with?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:06 PM

“Do you expect for your partner to lay down his life if push came to shove?” This is a yes or no question.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:04 PM

If I ask you whether you had steak or not, then that is a very black or white question. There is no point in trying to obfuscate it further…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:03 PM
1

That’s because the word “confident” is vague. The meaning of the word varies depending on who asks it and in which context it’s asked. Some words are more vague than others, and this is funnily enough also a concept people struggle with.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 08:01 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/26 07:59 PM

No. There can’t. When you ask a yes/no question there are only two outcomes… Did you have steak last night for dinner? Either you had steak or you didn’t.

I asked a Q4W 3 days ago about whether they expect for their partner to die for them. That’s a yes or no question. There were, however, a slight majority that included variables that didn’t have anything to do with the question, made up a stance of their partner or just outright refused to answer the question. It was in my opinion a shameful display.

Your belief that promiscuous women are more faithful than women who don’t do casual sex is built on this more than idealism. You want to live in a world where that’s the case, but empirical evidence proves otherwise.

That is literally the definition of saying someone is undeserving of sacrifice. You are using the words “protection” and “sacrifice” as synonyms, which they are aren’t. To sacrifice something means giving it up. If her husband sacrifices his life he is giving it up for her. By her admission, his life is worth more than her life. Therefore it’s contradictory to expect him to give up his life so she can continue to live since his life is - by her admission - worth more.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 01:52 PM
1

Why are you bringing children into the equation. That was not my question.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:24 AM

I didn’t say she was undeserving of protection - you did. I said why should he lay down his life to save hers, if he is worth more than her, which is hers admission. A king is worth more than a pawn. It doesn’t make sense for a king to sacrifice itself to save the pawn. If you admit that there is a hierarchy and someone is above you in that hierarchy, then it doesn’t make sense for the lesser person to expect the superior person to sacrifice themselves.

You earning more than your husband and having this opinion makes sense. I don’t mean any harm, but your situation is the one that would be viewed as the lower status situation in the hierarchy of women’s social status, since it’s expected for the man to pay. By your husband not being able to fit the gender expectation, it would viewed from the outside that you settled (traditionally speaking of course).
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/25 12:20 AM

A lot of markers of social status in relationships are built on gender traditions in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/25 12:15 AM

It would also be incredibly tacky for a woman to tell another woman in real life that she is “less than” for contributing to bills. It’s my impression that women who do contribute however, gets a bit of shade in terms of the intersexual hierarchy.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/25 12:06 AM

That might very well be true, but inversely if a woman admitted that she pays for everything, would that not be viewed as her being taken advantage of? I definitely think most women would view it as such. Especially with the gender expectation of “the man having to pay”. That’s why I think it would be viewed as a status symbol for other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/25 12:04 AM
2

No. If a woman tells her female friends that she pays for everything in the relationship she will be viewed as “less than” by her female peers. That’s my entire point.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/25 12:01 AM
3

You’ve completely misunderstood my post. If you say that you pay for everything in your relationship to your female friends, that makes you seem “less than”, the girl who gets everything paid for by the man she is dating. It’s in terms of women’s hierarchy that women gets viewed as less than.

Men are not manipulating women to their liking. It’s bold of you to assume most men even have the capabilities/skillset to manipulate women at all. If we did, most of us wouldn’t be raving about sexlessness/male loneliness. Could you please tell me when do I unlock the skills to manipulate women? Young women are even more difficult to date for older guys compared to women who are in their mid to late 20s. The whole argument is a red herring

Why is the discrepancy in “emotional maturity”, an eliminating factor when you’re considering potential partners? To a lot of men the emotional maturity is so far down the priority list, that if the woman you’re trying to date fits the criteria above, you aren’t worried about the emotional maturity gap if there happens to be a discrepancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/25 03:51 PM

Women are not morally superior, because they value different traits differently. The presumption behind the age of consent is that humans at 18 can consent to romantic relationships. 24 year olds can also consent. Therefore there is nothing wrong with the two people dating each other.

For most people the older they get, the more wealth they amass. If you own a house and you’re seeing your wealth increasing because the housing market is booming it would be best to want the least amount of houses built. Every person is self interested, and Gen Z self interest lies further with socialism than liberalism and conservatism.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/25 07:21 PM
2

“A rising tide lifts all ships” is only beneficial to the people who own ships or are on the ships. If you’re stuck in the ocean it doesn’t matter to you that the tides, and subsequently ships, are rising. Ie. The market growing is only beneficial if you have capital in the market. If you don’t have any capital in the market you couldn’t be any less bothered if it grows. It would actually be more beneficial for the market to crash so you could have an easier time staying a float instead of drown…

Gen Z being significantly more socialist than the previous generations makes a lot of sense. Gen Z doesn’t have any capital stake in the capital system, nor do Gen Z in the immediate future see a way to acquire capital stake. Turning against it therefore makes a lot of sense. The greatest quote I’ve heard today: It doesn’t make sense to be conservative, if you don’t have anything to conserve.

No. I’ve actually read the article. It is in my opinion badly written. There isn’t coherence between the presented premises and the conclusions the author draws. Obviously, there’s no shame in falling in love. But there’s also no shame in trying and failing to find it—or not trying at all. This is a quote from the article. The problem is the bisexual men being attracted to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/25 03:36 PM

I disagree. If a woman is attracted to men and she explicitly states she isn’t interested in bisexual men she is de facto discriminating based on sexuality. No one can enforce women to date bisexual men, but let’s call a spade a spade. It’s definitely homophobia.

I think the reason a lot of young people get fucked over is because we care a lot more about ideology compared to the older generation. Whether it “sits well” or not is irrelevant. The real “unfair” thing is forcibly taking what they have and giving it to other people.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 06:13 PM

“Unfair” doesn’t mean anything. It’s a nothing word. you have obligations and you have rights. No one is obligated to give their money, and no one has a right to other peoples money.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 05:52 PM

I never said inheriting money showed personal merit. I said there are people who have a hard time of understanding others work harder than they do themselves. Whether most billionaires inherent their money or work for the money themselves, it’s clownish to think you’re owed any of that money in for example taxes.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 05:49 PM

Being born into it doesn’t matter. If I became a billionaire in this life and decided to give every penny to my kids guess what… My kids aren’t obligated to pay it forward. Some people are just luckier than others. It is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 05:32 PM

Some people struggle a lot with recognising other people just work harder than them. I just saw that jubilee YouTube video of 20 regular people confronting 1 billionaire, and some of them genuinely expected him and other billionaires to catapult them out of their shit financial situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 05:17 PM

This idea that people’s freedom rights are absolute fortunately isn’t the case in my country. The regulation doesn’t stop news outlets from sharing news. It just delays the time of publishing till after the person has been found guilty, so the charged person doesn’t have their reputation tarnished. The detention itself has to be done according to due process.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 10:52 PM

Making it harder for people to find out, is better than nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 08:22 PM

I ask her if she is hungry, and if she likes lobster, then I take it from there.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 07:39 PM

No. Relationship is a mutual agreement between both people. If the other person doesn’t want a relationship, it will not happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 07:37 PM

As a men’s right activist, the easiest way to discourage false rape accusations is just a media blackout law. It’s already a thing in Scandinavian countries. If someone is charged with rape/murder or another heinous crime, you can’t write articles where you mention the person by name, and you can’t post pictures of the person/talk about the case until there has been a verdict where the charged person has been found guilty. The person charged won’t have their reputation ruined, until after they’v…

/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/25 12:53 PM

Controversial opinion: Romanticising the “lazy genius” is inherently feminine. The idea that some people just know it all without hard work is an inherently feminine idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/25 12:02 PM

The best analogy I have for tax is when a lot of people go out to eat dinner. The bill comes, and there are two ways to split it: 1) Each person pays for what they ate or 2) the whole bill gets divided by how many people are present. If you ate a large portion, obviously you want solution 2. If you didn’t eat a large portion, obviously you want solution 1. Make of this what you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/25 02:49 PM

That’s not the case in Hinduism either. Karma refers to what you’ve done previously in the life or a past life catching up to you. It’s the ultimate just world fallacy
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/25 09:23 PM

Theism very much believes this. The whole premise of heaven is what you do good in this world will reward you in the next and when doomsday comes around.

I understand why men are bitter. If you genuinely want to see the problem in heterosexual dating we need to look at homosexual couples to see which one is the odd one out. Lesbian marriages have a higher divorce rate than gay (two men) marriages. Lesbians are less likely to be fulfilled in their relationship too. No shit women are the problem in heterosexual dating.

No. Your point is, “there would be long wait time”. That’s not a problem with my proposal, that’s a problem with the bureaucracy. Family court ≠ criminal court. It’s as if people don’t understand the country they live in. Just typing words on their keyboard to make up sentences. It’s only the government that can enforce punishment. Having your assets redistributed on equity depending on whose fault it is the relationship breaks down is not punishment.

As I’ve said in this thread, that depends on the vows and commitment between each person in each relationship. One of the reasons to outlaw something is to prevent someone from doing it. It’s the punishment. Just because something is costly, doesn’t mean it should be non-punishable. I don’t think it’s going overboard. No such thing as cheating by mistake. Did you slip on the vagina/dick? lol. The government should be involved to punish the individual breaching the contract. We cannot have a func…

/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:42 PM
1

To answer all of your questions. “Cheating” depends on the relationship. It should be specifically defined in the contract between the two people getting married.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:40 PM
1

lol at the Alabama law. No I don’t think that wearing a fake moustache and making people laugh is morally wrong, and therefore I don’t think it should be illegal.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:39 PM

That depends on the relationship. Each relationship has a different dynamic. When you get married you should sit down with a lawyer and put it in writing. If one party breaches the contract, the other party can sue.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:36 PM
-10

Exactly, and if the court tells me I’m right I will either get my money returned or they’ll have to send me the meat. Additionally I’m pretty sure this is a felony in the US so the prosecutor would get involved too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:35 PM
-1

You haven’t refuted any point I’ve made. You’ve just written sentences in English lol. I think cheating is morally wrong. Therefore it should be outlawed. Are you saying cheating isn’t morally wrong? In that case we don’t have anything to discuss.

Neither is person A murdering person B. The state still punishes person A
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:31 PM

I understand what you’re saying. Cheating depends on the relationship. There could be a standardised contract of what’s considered cheating, and then people could rewrite the definition of cheating in their own contract. Some people are polyamorous and other people are not. Cheating very much so depends on the relationship and that is also why the contract/vows are important.

I didn’t write this in my original post but contracts are very free in terms of how you make them. The wedding vows should be the terms of the contract. I think all couples that get married should sit down with a lawyer (or maybe get a lawyer each) and thoroughly put the prompts of their relationship from mouth to in-writing.

Let me give you a thought experiment. Let’s say I’m a restaurant owner and you’re my supplier. We enter a contract where I bi-weekly send you money and you bi-weekly send me meat. The contract is that I give you 5K and you give me 50kg of minced meat. I sent you the 5K and you don’t sent the meat. Obviously I’m not sending you another 5K the following week, but you’re gonna get legally dealt with for scamming me. It’s the same thing with a marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:21 PM
1

I don’t know, that’s a separate discussion that could be had. First we decide if it should be outlawed or not, then we decide what the actual punishment should be. All I’m arguing is that it’s morally wrong and should therefore be a punishable offence.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:17 PM
1

No. Policy is definitely about enacting moral edicts. Even if it wasn’t, cheating on someone brings them harm, so by outlawing it, you minimise harm and you’re punishing morally wrong behaviour.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:16 PM
0

That’s what I’m trying to find out. I’m arguing in good faith. I used to think cheating should be legal, until I stopped and thought about it. I think it’s very morally wrong, and it has severe consequences on a person. Therefore the person that cheat should get punished. Maybe that would help fix the divorce rate too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:14 PM
1

The end of a marriage has financial consequences…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 02:12 PM

This is a flawed argument. Let’s just remove all laws then because the enforces of rules “are just as bad”. When you make claims such as, activity x should be illegal. You do it on the presumption that the legal system works.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 01:47 PM
1

You got no clue what you’re talking about. It can be settled privately. Cops don’t patrol for people that do tax evasion either, but there are plenty of people being convicted for that. Think a little.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 01:46 PM
0

Why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 01:27 PM
1

Do you not understand how the legal system works? Cops don’t just walk around looking for people committing crimes. You press 911 and give the police station a tip, the cops investigate, they then send the work to the prosecutor, you go to court, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 01:27 PM
0

De lege lata ≠ De lege ferenda. Whether it is illegal today is different from whether it should be illegal tomorrow. Free will doesn’t excuse anyone from fucking people over. When you enter a relationship and put obligations on another person and yourself, you have to uphold those obligations in good faith. By cheating you’re breaking the social contract and I believe you should be punished for that, especially when it has economic repercussions when you’re married.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 01:09 PM
0

Agreed. In a lot of industries there are standard contracts. If the two parties don’t like the writing on the standard contracts, they can change the terms in writing. There could be standard vows (which there actually already are. For example in health and sickness), and if the people getting married don’t like the standard vows they can change them with their lawyer.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/25 12:30 PM
1

All criminal laws are something we have collectively decided that society should punish. I think cheating is morally wrong, therefore I think you should get legally punished for cheating. I can’t really find a reason why someone would say “yes cheating is bad, but it shouldn’t be illegal”. If you think it’s bad, surely you would want that behaviour to be punishable and stamped out of society.

I think it’s a great solution. It would make marriage a lot more reasonable. I’m thinking when you get married today you usually do vows. We could make those vows contractually binding. In the case someone breaches the contract and cheats they should be punished with prison.

If the consensus is that cheating is immoral and evil, why shouldn’t it be illegal and punishable? You’re not putting an argument forward.

There is a couple of different reasons: This is gonna sound harsh but I think a woman with kids is beneath me. I’m convinced I could do better, because I have done so previously. I believe the mother should prioritise her kids. I want the mother to prioritise her kid when the kid is also my own. I couldn’t stomach her prioritising another man’s seed over me. These are the two main reasons I wouldn’t date a single mom. All other reasons I can think of is a byproduct of the two reasons stated abov…

The first set of millennials and gen x’ers have lost the plot. “Kids don’t play outside amymore”… And whose fault is that? Are kids biologically different today compared to 20-30 years ago?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/25 10:10 AM

There are specific laws for that. A loitering law is so widely defined it gives the police too much of a say in harassing strangers

The white feather is a widely recognised propaganda symbol. The white feather was most prominently used in the 'white feather movement' in Britain during the First World War, in which women gave white feathers to non-enlisting men symbolizing cowardice and shaming them into signing up.

If you’re younger than 25 then the #1 trait you should look for in the people you surround yourself with is… The ability to self govern. From 0-18, your parents governed over you. The years between 18-25 it seems like most people are in the same stage of life. Some travel to the same destinations, some go clubbing the same places etc. By 25 the small decisions that people make will become noticeable, and it was the people capable of self-governance that will reap the fruit of their labour.

Affordable housing is a fugazi term. Housing is worth what the richest buyer is willing to pay. The only way to offset it is to flood the market and supply more than there is demand for. The current home owners don’t want this, because the value of their asset will depreciate drastically if supply is increased.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 07:46 PM

One may ponder. The biggest issue isn’t on the demand side it’s on the supply side. There isn’t a housing shortage in Arkansas, but there is one in Miami, Chicago, New York etc. There aren’t enough homes for the people who want to live there that’s why the housing market is the way it is… Then again all of the jobs are in the big cities so it’s really a catch 22.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 07:40 PM

In the UK housing prices are the same today compared to 2003 (if you adjust for inflation). If we take the UK as an example: The problem is the purchasing power of the average Brit has plummeted relative to the purchasing power of the average Brit in 2003.

Pair bonding ability is very real and has been empirically studied. Next you’re gonna say water isn’t real. The reason they leave is because they are alpha widowed. Women with low body counts either 1) never met an alpha or 2) married their alpha. High bodycount women marry draft pick number 36.

If I got nothing out of it why would I do it? Why would the truck driver working 3AM-1PM drive through the night to get the meat from the factory to the restaurant. Money is just an intermediate exchange of value. Why would anyone produce anything valuable if they got nothing out of it?

Are you a woman LARPing as a man? I don’t know how you can ask this question… When you’re smashing someone it’s just low effort. When you’re out with a woman you’re claiming her as an extension of yourself. It’s like having a cracked Nokia from 2011, sure you can use it to make a phone call but it’s not viable as a long term phone.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 08:39 PM

Smashable and women I want to claim in public are not the same. Women I’d just smash are significantly uglier than women I’d LTR.

What’s attractive? Smashable or LTR worthy? Smashable I’d say 25%, LTR worthy I’d say 2-3% honestly, most likely less.

Very common, do you feel inferior when you see a man significantly taller than you? For guys above average I’ve gathered this is a common experience. If you’re 6’4-6’5 and you meet a 7-footer, it’s very common for guys to feel inferior when they’re suddenly looking up to someone taller.

I’m 5’11. I rarely run into men that are 5’5 or shorter, but whenever I do I feel an incredible surge in power to be able to physically look down on another man. It eats me up inside that my friends who are 6’5+ view me the same way.

In healthy relationships, people do things for each other without expecting anything in return. This is just not true. Everyone who believes relationships aren’t transactional has a misconstrued idea of what people like OP mean when they say it’s transactional. It’s not a momentary transaction where your partner does X and you are expected to do Y within a short time frame. The transactional relationship is built on credit. Once the credit runs out so does the relationship (and this is common se…

The post does make sense. Every rule we have is made up and built on morals that enough people share and agree with. The reason a lot of people agree that you shouldn’t lie to your partner is because it’s morally wrong to lie. There hasn’t been signed a contract that says you can’t lie, but it’s morally still wrong. The only reason you wouldn’t think it’s wrong to lie to a stranger is if you’re morally bankrupt. No contract has been signed, but when you walk in public you don’t believe strangers…

Morals are subjective. If we truly claim “nobody owes anyone anything”, then that phrase should be applied absolutely. Nobody owes anyone anything - not even the truth. If you disagree with that statement… well then you do believe people are owed something.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 02:06 PM
1

This reminds me a lot about game theory - in particular the prisoners dilemma. If I go by what you’re saying, the social contract should be nobody owes anyone anything, and we should do as much as possible to teach everyone about the rules of the game. Inversely, I think that’s morally wrong because people do owe each other something. Since there aren’t rules that can be enforced, people are losing without even knowing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 01:59 PM
1

Why do you owe people respect or kindness and not intimacy? What’s the difference between the two?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 01:53 PM
-3

I don’t know and I think it’s irrelevant. We are currently discussing the claim “nobody owes anyone anything”. What I think people should or shouldn’t do, doesn’t matter. I don’t hold any power to enforce my views. What I can say for certain is however, we all believe that we are owed something from strangers.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 01:34 PM
2

You clearly don’t understand my argument. You’re talking about how the world currently is when I’m talking about the idea behind “I don’t owe anyone anything”. You said the reason people owe you safety is because you pay taxes. If nobody doesn’t owe anyone anything, then I don’t owe my government taxes…

You’ve already drawn up lines and outlined the purpose of dating. What if someone doesn’t look at dating the same way? What if it’s about extracting as much money from the other person as possible?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 12:28 PM

A very smart economist won a noble prize because of it: Asymmetry of information being the biggest reason why it won’t work in dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 12:25 PM
-1

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m writing. I would illustrate it better with a question: What happens in a relationship of people are dishonest? I think people should be honest, but there are no repercussions if they aren’t. What people owe and don’t owe is something that’s been talked about. Honesty and trust is not one of those things, since it’s part of the decision basis. Nobody goes into a relationship with a person they don’t trust.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 11:52 AM

I’m not gonna make this into a central planning v. Free market debate, but what I will say is In the free market there are clear winners and losers - but at least the rules are defined. In dating no rules are defined. I want you to explain why not having defined rules is in anyway a good thing? Even in a free market you need rules to regulate the market such as anti trust laws.

Could you expand a bit more on what you think women owe men? This isn’t a men v. women post. As an example I think it’s morally wrong to sleep with x amount of women in rotation and lie to them (even though I’ve don’t it myself in the past). My problem with the phrase “nobody owes anyone anything”, is what the phrase promotes. It’s incredibly short-sighted. Even though it may technically be the truth, because I can’t get punished for it, I don’t think it’s something society should promote. I don…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 11:30 AM
1

You’re not sounding shitty. I understand the social contract, but the social contract is codified in law. If I murder someone I submit my freedom. If I smash a woman and lead her on for a long period of time - then what? I think it’s morally wrong to do so, but if you believe in the statement “nobody owes anyone anything”, then I don’t owe anyone to act morally right. My problem is with the line of thinking - it promotes selfishness.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 11:26 AM
-4

My issue is I believe that everyone owes everyone something, I just don’t know to what extent that something is, because the rules have not properly been defined. The line of thinking when someone says “I don’t owe anyone anything”, is complete selfishness. If we remove dating for just a second, the vast majority of people fundamentally believe that everyone has a right to live and we thereby punish people who try to take that right away for example. If nobody owed anyone anything in all aspects…

Well my post didn’t have marriage in mind. I actually thought about random people meeting each other for a first date type of scenario, what this is a good point. For most people a date (or active dating) is supposed to lead to something long term. If that thing long term is “worthless” in practice, why act morally “righteous” in the short term?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 11:12 AM

I made a post on the subreddit 30 mins ago, and I had a further revelation. The whole problem is the moral battle between selfishness and entitlement. Q4all: Would you rather live in a completely selfish society or a completely entitled society?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/25 11:09 AM
3

It’s factual to say, but is it something people should say? Which type of society or culture are we building where nobody owes anyone any form of moral decency? Inversely as well though, it sounds very entitled hearing people say “Person X owes me X”. The culture battle is really entitlement v. Selfishness
