Regarding your specific syllogism: premises 1 and 2 are fine. Premise 3 is shakier. You've identified some factors that seem to increase attraction, and don't seem to decrease attraction. It's not so much that your conclusion is bad, it's just that everything hangs on the factors you picked for premise 3.

The problem here isn't that your logic is flawed, it's that you didn't apply the deductive reasoning process to your selection of factors for premise 3.

The problem is not that women do not understand deductive reasoning. Any adult above 85 IQ can understand the logical process of that flow.

What most women (here) are disagreeing with is that attractiveness or sexual connection is made up of more than L/M/S, or challenging the proportion to which these three things matter; they are questioning the legitimacy of Premise 3, not disagreeing that in order for men to be attractive, they need to do X, Y, Z things.

The red pill also puts quite a bit of stock into game, which you are missing from this post, so I don't even agree with the premises and I'm flaired red pill.

If you wanted them to be relevant you'd have to have included "attract more women/be attractive to women" in the conclusion.

Instead the only logic chain here is "x y and z are attractive traits" and "if I want to be more attractive I need x y and z"

Believe it or not people can 100% understand your reasoning and still reject it for any number of reasons. That is an inescapable part of adult life, especially when you willfully opt into participating in a debate sub. Across history there have been many very intelligent humans with solid logic and reasoning behind their ideas who still fundamentally disagreed with each other. If this is a revolutionary idea to you I recommend reading more.

The problem does not lie in the deductive reasoning itself, but rather in the premises. If one of your premises is false, then your deduction does not work any more. As your conclusion is false, at least one of your premises must be false.

If you really want to do these observations, you have to be aware of biases. Probably a lot of the red pill theory can be explained through biases of its developers. For example, the 80/20-"rule" makes a lot more sense if you think about how most red pill men are at least initially unsuccessful in their dating life, causing them to seek out online advice and ending up somewhere on these forums. People have friends who are similar to them, so their friends are also likely unsuccessful in dating. They likely do not have a lot of personal contact with women, so the ones they notice tend to be the ones who are exceptionally attractive. People go out with people similar to them, so the exceptionally attractive women go out with exceptionally attractive men. So, you get the premises "Most men (=me and my friends) struggle with dating", and "Most women (=the extraordinarily attractive women I like to look at) go out with extraordinarily attractive men" => Conclusion: There's a small portion of very attractive men who get most of the attention from most women. Both premises are heavily affected by selection bias. Let's slap some numbers on it to make it sound sciency - 80/20 rules exist in other areas, so it is more likely to be accepted because it feels familiar.

The other aspect is probably that red pill theories can be emotionally comforting. If you hear something like 80/20 you feel better about yourself, because instead of thinking that you must be such a loser because no one wants you, you can think that you are just in the bottom 80% of attractiveness, but this could mean you are still well above average, and it is the women's fault for dating mostly the top 20%.

Deductive reasoning does not necessarily require empirical grounding, as a logical chain can still be logical even if it doesn't describe anything real. But you're bringing empirical observation into it and from that point someone critiquing the false conclusions being made does not imply they don't understand deductive reasoning. It can also mean they just disagree that it is accurate.

Almost all women would agree with 1 and 2, 3 is where you’ll get some disagreement. And disagreement does not equate to lack of understanding, nor does it equate to believing the complete antithesis of this statement (“women do not care about looks, money, or status”).

Most women also don’t object to the concept of self-improvement, it’s just that this isn’t a concept unique to TRP and doesn’t even get talked about much anymore. What makes TRP “sexy” to struggling men and controversial to the mainstream is the rampant misogyny. But RP men always retreat to the motte-and-bailey fallacy when this fact is brought up.

TRP’s “empirical evidence” has always been a bit shaky, with a lot of cherry-picking and confirmation bias going on. The same old studies get rehashed over and over and newer studies that might not support their claims get dismissed. And once again, anymore, I don’t even see many studies being cited.

Women are capable of any logic men are capable of; it is more a question of inclination. I would say that women, typically unconsciously or semi-consciously, have come to the 'logical' conclusion that emotions are (a) not perfectly controllable and (b) take a lot of effort to override when you can, so you cannot fight every battle.

Thus, based on this, the female inclination is that you do need aspects of white lies and even self-deception to manage emotions successfully. The guy that says they want 100% truth all the time is likely on the spectrum and often is the guy most driven by out-of-control emotionality despite acting like we can and should all be Mr. Spocks.

Thus, the female approach is to avoid systematizing these things too much. Systemic thinking may be the most accurate way when looking at the big picture, but it also can ruin the fun at the individual level, and isn't something most people can handle. Are they wrong? I dunno.

If you're going to talk about people understanding deductive reasoning you'd better make a rigorous deductive argument yourself, in words at least if you don't know formal logic. You'd need quite a few more premises for your conclusion to follow, but as it stands it does not. You've just given an opinion and called it logic because you learned a fun new word or something. And of course, if you were to make a proper deductive argument that's logically coherent, your conclusion only stands if your premises are true.

I am of a slightly different mind about this. It isn't that women don't understand deductive reasoning; they do. It is that many of them disagree with not only the premise, but the whole framing, as well as all the consecutive arguments that follow.

The men and women that agree with and focus on red pill talking points, and put a massive amount of value on attraction, specific gender norms, status and sexuality - Are not the same men and women that put less value on attraction, status, specific gender norms and sexuality.

Because, to the many people where 'physical and sexual attraction' is subservient to shared values, love, respect, understanding or familiarity, for example, making an axiomatic premise out of people not being 'equally attractive in the dating pool', is arbitrary and alienating.

Ironically, this then turns into dismissal of simple logic both ways. In my view, both are correct - thus the easiest way to solve the cognitive dissonance would be for red pill to simply agree that 'a lot' of women and men DON'T start with the same premise as them. And for all those that have a different premise, to take a minute or two to have a good long look at our sexual, emotional and physical needs, and not conflate lack of needs being met, with some sort of herculean feat. Red pill gets labelled as crude, simplistic and sex-focused, and tied to attraction, status and looks - though those are still driving-forces in the rest of us - it just functions, is integrated and prioritized differently.

By dismissing Red Pill, you end up with a lack of acknowledgement for human attraction and sexuality in general. These topics are so taboo-heavy still, and are often not broached. It is sloppy projection to blame Red Pill for the fact that all humans have a sexuality.

Looks to a certain extent is easy to measure along with money.

Status is nebulous and contextual. When a man is seen with a beautiful woman despite not being good looking or wealthy, other men tend to fill in the gaps with positive assumptions like he must be charismatic or have a big dick.

Lots of time women give the men status by choosing them instead of them having it already. It's not deductive reasoning if men are working backwards to justify the outcome.

(For the record, I absolutely think that the ability to understand and apply logic is not a gendered trait, however most education systems in existence have failed most generations alive today by not providing the necessary foundations).

OP claims red pill bases on the observable reality, but fails to notice the moment when an observation becomes an interpretation and fails to address the subjectivity of the observation as such. Red pill is based on an interpretation of the subjective experience that one might take for the observable reality. It makes no effort to address the cognitive bias of the observer. In other words, it's based on trash logic, which makes it no different from the vast majority of ideological bubbles.

You could draw a whole different set of conclusions from the same set of observations, for example: women go for good looking men, who have high status and high income - all these are associated with high confidence. In order to be more lucky with the ladies, you need to become more confident.

Or, if you're more sarcastically inclined: women like rich men. Most wealth is generational, so it would be reasonable to ask your parents to sell all their real estate and give you the money, else you will be single forever.

An observation unsupported by research (such as verifying the correctness of the observation itself to begin with and asking a representative group of women what it is that they look for in a partner through an unbiased survey) is very far from being a sufficient basis for drawing generalized conclusions regarding the root cause of the phenomenon.

Examples of equally logically flawed observations include: 1) left-wing women report lower levels of happiness than right-wing women, therefore the Left makes women unhappy 2) right -wing men report higher levels of wealth than left-wing men, therefore the Right makes men richer 3) Singapore has greatly restricted access to chewing gum and within years from the ban became one of the safest countries on Earth, therefore to reduce violent crime, countries should ban chewing gum 4) the UK has a higher number of reported acts of sexual assault than Afghanistan, therefore Afghanistan is safer for women than the UK. 5) (The FSM church argument) The global warming increase correlates with a decrease in the number of active pirates worldwide, therefore to reduce global warming we should have more pirates

The premises all leave out character/honesty/kindness/being a good person entirely. Most women understand deductive reasoning just fine and simply start with different premises, such as: being a better person can make a person more attractive -> being better looking, making more money, and aquiring status are not the only ways to become more attractive because improving your character can also make you more attractive. This premise refutes your conclusion that a man needs to do these three things to become more attractive. By your logic your failure to understand this would mean you do not understand deductive reasoning, despite in reality you probably just disagree with the premise.
