I'm forever haunted by this Margaret Atwood quote.

I'm looking to improve my fashion sense. Is there a way to learn how to dress more to the female gaze? Youtubers or blogs etc? I'm so done with men.

I'm 22 and I've never dated in my life. Never really saw the appeal. The pandemic has me watching romantic TV shows (something I never used to do) and this makes me sometimes crave a relationship. But I'm an introvert who'd rather be alone and vetting takes too much energy.

Right?? It pisses me off so damn much too. I can't even get myself to look at boys that are just a few months younger than me because I feel like they are children! What the actual fuck is wrong with men.

Oh, sis, I am the same. I read a lot of books and then create these unrealistic fantasies in my head. Sometimes I feel so sad.

Sis, are you me? I'm 22 and this is exactly how I feel. I've never dated any man and I can't imagine dating one either. For some reason, it makes me feel deeply unclean. Everytime I interact with a guy, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm quite disappointed with Billie Eilish's photoshoot. It's sad to see that she had to give in and end up sexualising herself. It seems inevitable in retrospect, because that is what patriarchy demands of us as women. Every woman on the planet is unhappy with some feature of her body and believes changing it through plastic surgery will satisfy her. It's easy to think that altering your appearance is all you need. The truth is, if it isn't your nose, it will be your stomach, or your breasts or …

I'm planning to stay single. I've never been interested in children and I'm convinced there are no good men. Even if there is an HVM on the planet, it will take too much work to establish that he truly is a decent person. I'm just not wiling to spend that much time and energy on a man, worrying about what he feels about me, whether he's cheating on me... It's not worth it. Also, I've never actually dated anybody and I'm happy with my life and myself. I can't imagine some dude coming along and me…

At this point, I don't even care how HV a man seems to be. I'll never ever date or marry. I'm utterly disgusted.

I've been feeling extra disappointed in men today. I mean, I know they suck but for some reason today, I'm extra upset about how they treat women. I'm so glad this sub exists. I feel so comforted by you sisters. Thank you, thank you! :)

I can imagine it already: Hey, everyone! My husband prefers watching deepfakes of his co-workers to having sex with me. I know that this is totally normal, natural behaviour. All men do it, hehe. And it isn't harming anyone! It does make me a little bit uncomfortable, though. My husband is literal perfection and I love him so, so much. What should I do?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/03/21 07:23 AM

getting married or having children. Because apparently having a husband is the same as having another child. "You're not supposed to waste two hours in the bathroom in the morning, son, bad manners."

Yes, yes, yes! The struggle is real. I don't think I will be able to stand the thought that some man had access to me. It'll haunt me. I also want to experience sex with a great man (but at the same time, I don't think great men exist and based off the experiences of many women, sex with men is not worth it).

Yes! I'm not your mother, dude, you're a fully grown adult man. What haunts me the worst is that since I am South Asian, after marriage it will be my responsibility to cook and clean. I could find the sweetest, most intelligent guy and I'd still be the one cooking and cleaning for him and his stupid family. As I've had the men in my life say, "It's in a woman's nature. It's religion." Nature, sure. I've been told to clean up after myself ever since I was a child and my brother got away with it. …

Same lol. I can't for the life of me figure out what's so great about being in a relationship with a man. Constantly being on the lookout for scrote-y behaviour. After all your vetting, he could still turn out to be just another LVM. No, thanks. That's just way too much trouble for naught.

Reminds me of this: Novelist Margaret Atwood writes that when she asked a male friend why men feel threatened by women, he answered, "They are afraid women will laugh at them." When she asked a group of women why they feel threatened by men, they said, "We're afraid of being killed."

Right? I live in India and I find it hard to believe that an Indian woman could exist without being molested at least once. I've been molested twice and stalked countless times. And the thing is that many times men are clever enough to be creepy but not creepy enough for us to label that as sexual harrasment. A lot of them walk that fine line. If I include those encounters too, then the number would be infinite.

This reminds me of this paragraph from Andrea Dworkin's Intercourse: Being an object for a man means being alienated from other women—those like her in status, in inferiority, in sexual function. Collaboration by women with men to keep women civilly and sexually inferior has been one of the hallmarks of female subordination; we are ashamed when Freud notices it, but it is true.

Oh, this case has been grinding my gears! The fact that Rhea lived with a guy who she wasn't married to, and he happened to be rich and she left him when she felt their relationship wasn't going anywhere (instead of being his ride-or-die) just seems to rub everyone the wrong way. They just can't seem to swallow it. Ha.

Honestly, I would just go out for a walk or run. No men to stare at me constantly, that would such a huge relief!

Same! Especially when men approach me on the street. I'm so scared of rejecting them in a way that would hurt their egos so all I say is a polite no. And then they don't even take a polite no for an answer fml

This makes me so incredibly angry! I saw a reddit post yesterday (it was a video—a man with presumably his gf was staring at another woman, and his gf gets up and starts to scold him), the top comment was about how the commenter married his best friend because he and his wife checked out women together. I wonder if they sit around checking out men together?
