I think it's 20% of your income, but there are caps, and it can be negotiating during meditation. Like If you have the child on your medical insurance, you can justify to lower it
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/25 05:07 AM

Meditation will try make it fair as possible for the both of you but with a child how that will play out. My divorce in Dallas county was 50/50 split and my ex wife hated it.

Okay bank on getting child Support, but if you don't mind me asking what was the reason for the divorce because children involved may change the outcome. Is she doing a no fault divorce or fault divorce.

Okay do you have children with her?

My ex wife did it blind, my ex wife and her mom where expecting me to bend over and take. So they went cheap on a lawyer but ended up getting shafted in lawyer fees

My ex-wife didn't understand a divorce could continue without her signature, so she went ahead and signed so she didn't have to go to court again
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/25 11:18 PM

She was dodging her lawyer for about 3 weeks, trying to have the divorce dismissed so she could restart 🤣😂

My ex-wife is now finding out how to pay for your own shit now, I was the breadwinner. I make 95k a year, and she made 26k a year. Now her bank account over draws 1200 a month. She can not handle her finances during the divorce she would ask for money from me lol 😆

So basically, what happened on October 29th, it was a 1-hour bench trial before we went in our lawyers who were negotiating, we came to an agreement, then we inside the court room the judge called my wife an I to come and stand in front of her, I was as a series of question regarding the agreement and if the the marriage can be fixed. Then the judge granted the divorce, and I remember her saying the decree has to be turned in by December 6th. I texted my lawyer saying, "Can we get dragged back t…
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 02:23 AM
1

There is about 150k in equity in the house. What was the point of the final trial if the decisions were okay by a judge. But he made it seem like we couldn't go back to court and it was final.
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 02:03 AM
1

So my final trial isn't consider final??
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 01:52 AM
1

I remember the judge saying the decree has to be turned in by December 6th and now December 27th because she is refusing to sign
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 01:44 AM
2

When we had final trial, the options were refi and pay me out or sell the house and split in 50/50. And the judge agreed. Like I said above my current status is dissmissal/entry of final order.
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 01:34 AM
1

We agreed in front of a judge, and now my case is in final order status.
/r/Divorce_Men14/12/24 01:07 AM

I just found out today she wanted a divorce because she has a new side piece, I don't care he took 165lbs of dead weight off of my back
/r/Divorce_Men09/11/24 05:59 AM
3

Her argument was she put 1000 dollars more than me. that's why she deserved the house, and she didn't even want to pay my half out.

Lmfao 💀
/r/Divorce_Men05/11/24 10:13 PM

During the divorce I would watch her bank account she normally overdraw 400 to 500 before each payday

Just 5 years old, my ex didn't do her homework.
/r/Divorce_Men02/11/24 06:53 PM
5

My ex wanted alimony and me to pay for her legal fees, but since she was 5 years short, the judge denied it.

October 29th is my trial date. My lawyer asked her lawyer about abuse allegations, and he gave a vague answer or wouldn't be specific about the abuse he said that usually means he just reaching in the dark to see what he can grab because I am also being accused of fraud on the community
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/24 10:08 PM
1

My lawyer asked for 1hr only bench trial. In our temporary orders, we were supposed to split 401Ks, but since they were equal, they didn't get touched. She failed to maintain the financial responsibilities of the house payment she is way over 30 days late, and not to forget, she tried to have the mortgage loan assumed by her mom which wasn't agreed on
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/24 09:55 PM
1

Since I have no children, it will be simple, but she made the process so difficult since she wanted the divorce and gas lights me saying it was my fault. And if I was so abusive, she constantly reached out to me for money
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/24 05:16 AM
1

We are fighting for the divisions of the house
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/24 12:49 AM
1

I haven't communicated with her since she accused me of abuse, but she always reaches out to me to pay her debts or streaming services
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 03:07 PM
1

Basically, on the petition, it says guilty of cruelty, and my lawyer told me that means physical abuse because verbal abuse is always looked over by a judge. Her main complaint is that I was always at work because she never paid the bills, so she wanted the divorce. The accusations of abuse came from left fields
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 03:04 PM
3

I haven't heard much back from my attorney, i have a clean record with sleeding tickets, I have had the same job for the last 7 years
/r/Divorce_Men11/10/24 02:58 PM
1

That's what I was thinking since she had already broken the contract twice. The first violation was with in 48hrs of signing the agreement, and the second violation was Oct 1st for not paying the September mortgage bill.
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/24 10:07 AM
1

My divorce has been going on march 2024 no children just a house
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/24 03:08 AM
1

Yeah I have a lawyer October 29th is my final trial
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/24 02:49 AM
1

In the temporary order, it said if she was 30 days late, the house had to be put for sale, same with if she couldn't get the house refinance
/r/Divorce_Men02/10/24 01:40 AM
1

She was texting me I ignore her text
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/24 12:20 AM
1

And she wants to keep my interest rate of 2.5%
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 08:03 AM
1

So this monday, I will have a pretrial hearing. She had to turn in her 401k statements, and we would choose an appraiser that my lawyer picks. She is trying to assume the loan, but that's a breach of an agreement because she knows refinancing she will not qualify for
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 08:03 AM
1

I never replied to her messages, I just saw she wants me to pay her debts.
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 07:57 AM

The judge signed off on the paper work
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 05:59 AM
2

We signed a paper from the courts but debts were not included
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 05:06 AM
1

We sign the agreement, nothing stating I am responsible for her debts
/r/Divorce_Men14/09/24 04:54 AM

Are you in a community property state? And is the divorce contested or uncontested?
/r/Divorce_Men05/08/24 07:41 AM
1

Were the stocks acquired during the marriage?
/r/Divorce_Men04/08/24 08:29 AM
1

If you state is community property yes
/r/Divorce_Men04/08/24 08:29 AM
2

Well, we have no kids. I am still living in the house, but she wants to keep the house and not help pay with the bills
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/24 02:20 AM

We have only been married for 5 years. My friend said spousal supports come into play if domestic violence was involved
/r/Divorce_Men20/06/24 01:02 AM
3

We have no children, just a house with over 100k on equity
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 06:33 PM
10

It just hurts that she would accuse me of this
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 06:09 PM
6

It just crushed me, and she was willing to go down that road to say that I was abusive when I busted my ass for her. I would work myself into the ground to give the stuff that she wanted. Like, i remember, I worked 160+ hours to make sure she had spending money for her trip
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 11:58 AM
3

I live in Texas
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 11:41 AM
2

I am not sure what the next step is. I just want to be over with
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 11:19 AM
3

There is no evidence because it never happened
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 11:15 AM
7

I lost my shit when she accused me of abuse
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 10:01 AM
10

It just shocked me that she would go that low to accuse me of physical abuse
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 09:39 AM

Do judges typically sign off on default divorces? From what I see on the internet, it seem they can get overturned or not appoved
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 06:59 AM
3

This last monday was the last day to file and she didn't answer, I live in Texas
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 06:52 AM
1

The way my lawyer made it seem its the last step
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 06:47 AM
1

So that means she can still negotiate what she wants?
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 05:24 AM
3

They were served properly. She is just lying about the process server served her mother and not her, not knowing he had pictures of her and got when she got home from work. My lawyer told their lawyer that if you disagree, that process server served mother then lets go to court and fight it out, then they nevered submitted an answer
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 05:06 AM
1

I won't have to worry about spousal support. We have only been married 5 years
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/24 12:42 AM
3

She hasn't turned in the paper work, I think she knows if she turns it in or not the house is gone
/r/Divorce_Men16/05/24 01:24 AM
3

This coming up monday will become a default divorce
/r/Divorce_Men15/05/24 06:01 PM
3

I had a process server sever her, I swithed to a contested divorce since she didn't want to be fair with the assets.
/r/Divorce_Men15/05/24 06:01 PM
8

I live in Texas, and once it passes this upcoming monday, it will become a default
/r/Divorce_Men15/05/24 05:57 PM

How can I be put on spousal support
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/24 04:48 AM
1

I looked on zillow and relator the house vaule goes between 309k to 345k and we have 199k left
/r/Divorce_Men11/04/24 07:40 PM
2

We dated for 4 years but didn't live together until we got married
/r/Divorce_Men11/04/24 07:39 PM
1

I make more than her by a lot. I made 80k last year, and she made 28k. Idk how they will split the bank accounts since she is always overdrawn. We were only married for 5 years, so I have to pay her alimony?
/r/Divorce_Men11/04/24 07:31 PM
1

Is the equity what the house is currently valued at?
/r/Divorce_Men11/04/24 07:27 PM
1

My ex-wife did it out nowhere. I guess she never appreciated me taking care of her greedy ass. But I filed before she did
/r/Divorce_Men27/03/24 05:57 PM
2

Because 2 nights ago, she wanted me to agree to this compromise where she wanted to keep the house so she would have to pay my equity out, but she wanted me to split my half with her. My lawyer is telling me she is already showing signs that this will divorce will get dirty
/r/Divorce_Men22/03/24 12:59 PM
1

I basically pay all the bills in the house, I made 80k last year, and she made 28k
/r/Divorce_Men22/03/24 12:54 PM
2

Right now, she left for a vacation, so I felt this would be the perfect time when she came back. The paperwork will be ready
/r/Divorce_Men22/03/24 01:53 AM
3

My lawyer said if it goes contested, the judge will more than likely force us to sell the house
/r/Divorce_Men22/03/24 01:52 AM
1

It sucks right now. She tanked my credit score, so I will have an issue to get a decent apartment
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:33 PM
1

She wants a divorce but she isnt willing to do the paperwork
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:28 PM
2

Idk why she won't file, and i feel it would be better if I did because I don't trust her mother
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:24 PM
3

I am filing for it. She wants the divorce but doesn't want to file
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:21 PM
1

Well, my brother's wife is her best friend, so deleting facebook wouldn't matter she can still keep tabs on me
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:15 PM
1

Why would she care if I am still friends with her on Facebook
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 08:13 PM
2

It's strange bringing up delete social media, I deactivated my accounts, and she called me to ask if I blocked her.
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 07:46 PM
9

I put the house on the market, but once the divorce is finalized, I am going to try to disappear. The only thing that will be hard is that her friend is my brother's wife, and so she will always find a way to keep tabs on me
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 02:05 AM
5

I was with her 10 years, practically my first love
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/24 01:40 AM
1

No kids, we have dogs, but I have been fed up with them for a long time so I could care less about keeping the dogs.
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/24 03:17 AM
1

She just says no there isnt anyone
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/24 12:45 AM

I am not for sure, I ask her multiple times if there is someone else
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/24 12:33 AM

I know she kinda came with aloy baggage like Father abandoned her. The mom is a massive narrarcist she was depression medication when I met her, idk if she just snapped
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 07:39 PM
3

So there is no way the marriage can be saved
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 04:35 PM

I already spoke with an attorney, I dont have 3500 on me
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 03:18 PM

We don't have children
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 03:09 PM

I live in Texas, and it's community property, so if the divorce goes through, we have to sell the house or buy each other equity out, which I dont have 60k on me
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 05:39 AM
6

My wife she could care less if she lost me Like last night, I locked my keys in my car. I called her to come help me out she tells "i am at my friends house, and its 45mins from where you are at." I was mad and hurt because there were countless times I saved her in an emergency or brought her lunch while coming off working 3 16hr shifts back to back
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 03:09 AM
5

Yes I work 140 to 150 hours every 2 weeks to support her
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 01:40 AM

Its hard this my first marriage, my first serious relationship for 10 years
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 01:18 AM

She didn't move out. She was just staying at her mom's temporarily to have space
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 12:45 AM
7

I feel if I got the paperwork, she would actually sign it
/r/Divorce_Men03/03/24 12:30 AM

When she got this new job, she took a massive paycut like 8 dollars, and it was towards the end of 2021, so inflation was really fucked up so I was the main provider since I made alot more she hasn't paid a bill since 2021. She only pays her car note and credit card. We have no children
/r/Divorce_Men02/03/24 11:46 PM

I did talk to a lawyer, and my friend cousin is a divorce attorney. He was able to tell me if she filed or not or is currently talking to an attorney or talked with one in the past and both came back negative.

If a woman is so adamant about leaving, why wait and drag it out she already knows her mother will let her come back and not pay a single penny in rent.

It came out of nowhere, like in 2023, we did 3 vacations spent a lot of time together now she is depressed because I have to work and support her because she doesn't contribute to the house. Last argument we had I told her to "go get the paperwork" then left the house but 1 hour and half later she was calling me to text me to see if I was okay.
