I've lost almost 60lbs now. Even 3 months into my seperation, I still can only eat about once a day, and even then it ain't much.

That's awesome. I have lost about 50 lbs. My knees have been so bad for so long because of my weight that running or squat was just about impossible. That problem has gone away, so I am hyper fixated on legs at the moment, and jogging.

Absolutely! I starting to get some definition again which is nice. The stress relief, and knowing if I keep it up I'm gonna be stronger, healthier and more attractive to someone one day.

Man I agree with this so much. I 5 to therapy weekly, and do a lot of self help reading and podcasts. You gotta do something with that stress/anxiety/anger. It's really helping me manage it all, plus the self confidence boost is pulling me out of my low state that I have been in for the last 70 days.

Same here some days are just shit. Keep your chin up we are all gonna make it. We will just have some new scars.

Well I'll be your friend. Message me whenever. I know it's not the same as human interaction, but don't suffer in silence.

For me it's the emotions of knowing that I let my emotional immaturity and anxiety fuck up a good thing. Now I have to bear that regret. I will lose my high-school sweetheart (23 year of marriage togther forn28). The fact I was a great provider wasn't enough. Now some other clown will raise my kids and get to fuck my wife. It's maddening.

Same days are good some days are bad. We are still working on things. I still have no idea where we will end up, but I know I'm growing atleast. I'm still holding out hope something good will still happen.

Right I get the same thing. I take a few bites and usually I'm done. I did eat an entire Greek salad last night.

For real. I can wear clothes from Highschool again. Not that I have any left but still kinda nice. Now if someone cared 🤷.

When I don't have the kids it's pretty much diet coke and maybe a fig bar. I'm down 40 lbs in about 6 weeks.

Thank you. We all need to realize these things. I'm tired of being the sum of my past mistakes. I do have worth, and so do you. Embrace who you are really not the labels that we have been saddled with.

I am dealing with the sadness for sure. I'm sorry she didn't give you a shot. My wife told me and over but not In a direct enough manner to snap me out of my shit, or maybe I was just too stubborn to listen. Either rate changes are coming. If you need to chat DM me.

Yeah. There was some infidelity early on, on her part. We had dated for about 5 years after 6 months of marriage she left, moved on with her friend and ended up cheating on me with her best friends boyfriend. When they got caught she tried to take her life. We picked up the pieces but about 6 month after that she asked to be in a polygamous relationship. I told her she had to make a choice. She chose me, but I guess I never healed from all that. So for a long time I allowed all that fear to run …

Well I know what I need to work on. I have anxious attachment issues. Had a really really shitty upbrining with lots of abuse, mistrust, and constant change. I let it manifest as anger for most of my life, then it spilled into depression and low self esteem. I am getting help for it now, and this situation is obviously making me practice what I am learning.
/r/Divorce_Men19/02/24 12:40 AM

Actually just then opposites. I get that I could still lose. But this is a call to get my anxiety fixed. Will that fix everything, absolutely not. Will that mean she sees something different, I don't know. But I haven't really done the work to know. So that's what I am gonna do. You can call me a fool, that's fine. If I'm wrong then I have to deal with it, and if I did nothing i would have the regret of not trying.

I understand how you feel. Unfortunately like everyone says you can only control you, and how you handle it. It sucks. do the work, for her and yourself. Just know whatever you do doesn't guarantee the outcome you currently seek. I'm sorry you are going through this, hopefully you can make the positive changes that you need.

Yes I have had this conversation. I told her I will still fail some but i am failing forward, not backwards, or stagnating. I am taking the lessons and applying them.

I feel the same way. Thank you. I want to do whatever I can as well. I don't think it's foolish, we made a vow. It has been better and worse, but worse doesn't mean quit trying, not always.

My empathy is returning. I used to have big feeling and emtions and alot empathy. I also suffer from depression pretty badly. I had to turn my empathy way down for a long time. I couldn't deal with my own emotions for other people's pain, let alone the pain I caused the people I loved the most. I have expressed to her how those things that I have done, I have also experienced at how it made me feel, and how I now understand how it made her feel.
/r/Divorce_Men18/02/24 04:03 PM
1

Thanks. I have been trying to learn that lesson, you can only control your actions. I know it's up to me to show her something better, but I guess it just knowing it may not matter. I am also doing these things for me because I don't want to be worried or anxious anymore. I want to have enough self worth that I can have confidence again, but I am still doing it for her and my kids mostly.

I have aplogized. I have laid my soul bare to her about my regrets, and my actions. I have been doing everything I can to make positive changes, even well before this all happened.

Thanks. Yeah communication is zero unless it's kid related. Sex won't be happening. I already put that boundary up. I have no illusions that she is my friend or cares about me in the least at this point beyond giving her time to get up and out.

That's great. Keep you chin up. It's hard to feel loved sometimes when you are going through this stuff. Try to look past some of the things you are beating yourself up over. What I think we fail to realize is, it takes two, and you did do right things in the past, you weren't always in a bad place. You have value. Just keep telling yourself that. Always hear to talk.

Nice I'm at 207 now, trying to get down to 195 ish and go from there. Man I eat 400 calories a day. 2 fig newton's. I can't even think about much more than that at the moment. I'm gonna have to force myself to eat soon, especially if I'm gonna be going to the gym 5 days a week. I

EVERYONE has some levels of narcissism. I do. My tends to the low self esteem side if the range. What I am saying is just be aware, and make sure you aren't doing things to hurt people with it. People over use the phrase now.

Thanks that's awesome. Same here I'm down 25 lb. Starting the gum on Monday with a group of good guys from work. I'm sorry you having to do this again. I'm not sure I can imagine another relationship at 45. I wonder the same thing sometimes, if I would just be better off staying that way. Seems like it would be hard as hell to do.

I feel terrible about it. I can't believe the person I had become. I thought I was something good and I wasn't. God is showing me my failures. He is giving me a path to become what I should have been. And I hate it, if I being honest. I want my wife.

She does go to therapy. I have noticed that the days she has therapy I usually get unloaded on. I know she is working through a lot so I am supportive as much as I can be. Sometimes it get hard to not get defensive in those situations.

I think the worst part of all this was over Christmas things were perfect. She said she was going to let the past go, and live in the moment, with the new me. It was an amazing month. Found out later she couldn't really let it go. I had opened up so much more like to my core. I had finally opened the gate, that last barrier. Then the reversal happened. That was 2 weeks ago, she reiterated it today. How are men ever supposed to become vulnerable? Seems like anytime I get close to that point somet…

No cheating here. Just a lot of immaturity on my end. I made a lot of mistakes, and treated her in ways that were really inconsistent with being there emationally for someone. I loath those things.
