I get it. Honestly, I would bring it up in a non threatening, non judgmental way. Not like "hey I'd like you to pay for the dates" but more in a "I'm sharing how I feel". I had such a conversation with my partner. You can even make it sound like it's a love language (which is somehow)....like "It's important for me to have a partner who is willing to pay for dates, it makes me feel appreciated and, although it sounds old fashion, it feels like my partner has my back". I even went as far as sayin…

If he sounds good for most part and you think that the root issue is emotional intimacy, then maybe make your decision on that? Yes the root issue is emotional intimacy. I'm just starting to think it's the best I can do given men in general...I had a string of narc and even a psycho as an ex and even if. I'm starting to think that most men are narcs or at least LVM

How you communicate will obviously affect your dynamic and it seems like these are past communication behaviors you probably used with your mom.. I love this place cause you ladies are soooo smart! I have an overbearing mother...she's been amazing but (see i do it here as well haha) I feel she's suffocating me with love. So I moved in abroad to escape my mom but then I'm mad at my partner for not being as intuitive and loving as my mom. With my mother we rarely explain things, it works organical…

Ask yourself what has changed and try to think of why, but don't let it get to you. It could very well be he's become a bit too comfortable in your relationship. The sex thing is not exactly a good sign, so you should try and find out what's up in a light-hearted way. If the answer has anything to do with you: RUN. Hehe, I got what I asked for....sigh. Yes I think he is a little too comfortable in the relationship and yet he tells me he doesn't feel completely safe because he has the impression …

Actually he was transparent!! He told me how he used to struggle with communication in his twenties and his ex girlfriends would ask him to share more...so he would send a very, factual detailed summary of his day, LOL. It still makes me laugh. He was aware they wanted more emotional connection and all he could give them was more facts. But he also seemed to have changed a lot...because the guy I was talking to was affectionate, a good listener and seemed self aware. I'm afraid he was able to be…

you're amazing, you got it and you got me ;) Yes, low EQ, pb with empathy (he's aware and told me about it...as I said I'm convinced he's aspy), not malicious at all...in fact his favorite sentence is "I'll work on it"..and he does but it's exactly what you said!! It's feeding "a line of code" to a robot. In fact a friend said "dontstopmenow you can't complain that he's a bit robotic and try to reprogram him at the same time". I felt it so deeply. Also I'm fearful avoidant...I hate that part of …

I'm not exactly sure to advise you a break-up, but you're already at the phase of: "oh my god he's X or Y, facepalm!" and that doesn't sound like a good thing. That's a good point! No he doesn't look down on me....but he happens to laugh when I'm being my clumsy self. I would say he's good at cultivating kindness but he fails in the intuition department. I wanted a practical dude who is good with logistics thinking I could inject the emotional side....silly idea. He's more organized than me, he …

I've been around here, read the rules, the handbook ...I know my post is borderline that's why I said "I don't know if my post is FDS compliant". As for the advice they were in the chat. My point is that deciding to move with someone after four month is not the best idea in the absolute, but for me it was the best choice. I wanted to give some context.

A presumably straight man with a "gay voice" is an instant red flag for me. Due to harsh experiences, I learned that the most violent or otherwise really bent men often overcompensate for concealed aggression, sexual compulsion and rage with a sort of mealy-mouthed wimpy act that can read as "gay." An actually gay man with that voice can be a good egg but hetero men with that voice, not so much. In retrospect my psycho would take an effeminate voice!! I always found it unsettling.

Within the first 5 lines when OP wrote "acted somewhat nervous/shy/afraid he was "boring" me" Totally!!! Plus the "uuuh I don't know how to do it, I would come with you but I want to be a respectful person" Lol!! He is telling on himself, he knows exactly what he wants and pretends not to know in hope OP will find it endearing and non-threatening. Just like when he told the housemate he harassed "I'm not going to rape you". GROSS and scary. Glad OP that you listened to your gut. Something was of…

Parisian woman here! It's a mixed bag from my experience...some will pay others will do 50/50...I think OLD is spoiling dating. I don't have any dude from OLD who suggested dinner but one dude who took me for drinks, dinner and paid all the time...it turns out he was a psycho love bombing me. Now I'm the exception from my girlfriends...they are all doing the 50/50 and pursuing.

LMAO!!! What a clown! I had a guy yesterday who said "would you like to JOIN my whatsapp?" He's not a native speaker but that sounds too much like "would like to join my harem on whatsapp?". So I asked him "I don't know, how many are we?" He replied "oooh no I almost never give my whatsapp number...but you seem so special"...some guys really think we're gullible. Needless to say I had a good laughter and unmatched

I have a hierarchy of red flags so it depends which one they're showing (negging is an absolute no, mansplaining can be tolerated at the very beginning if the behavior stops once being told...). But usually if they show one, they end up showing ten!

Oh I meant a MJ of his own field (I mean of the friend's field)....even if it was not your ex profession, it seems that any greatness other than his was a threat. Bancroft's Why Does He Do That, explains these "out of the blue" moments of rage as being triggered few hours or even days before by stealing the spotlight of narcs. ps: I was mostly laughing at your ex and his fragile ego. They're so predictable.

The way they say things and their attitude make it easier to spot them irl. yep, on a date a dude said he got a female dog rather than a male dog because there can't be two alphas in a relationship. Yep, he just wanted a "bitch".

The next day he said he felt inadequate. I tried to reassure him-this friend is like a michael jordan in terms of talent and a nice guy to boot. Three days later he was threatening to hit me with a frying pan I'm sorry if I'm laughing, cause it's really not funny...and I'm glad you got out...but yeah telling a narc that his friend is the Michael Jordan of his field is the biggest ego blow.

Understanding women? Aren't you crazy? Why would they, evolved creature, stoop to our level? They're so logical and rational so we better make an effort to raise to their level...if we're lucky they may consider us equal, while still acknowledging we're mostly emotional beings...actually animals! Oh wait, I thought men were like apes...shoot XD

I see what they offer and if they follow through. They pick the restaurant and experience and I accept or reject. It doesn’t have to be expensive but it does need to be thoughtful and safe. I guess my point is, with a man from OLD, I'm not set on dinner dates or block. It really depends on where you live. I have lived in MENA and dinner dates are just the norm even if you just matched with someone on tinder...although guys can be major douches. Where I live now, no one will suggest a dinner as a…

You meant he was talking to so many women that he only had time to call while he was making dinner.... My imagination is wild sometimes... can you imagine a video call with all his potential dates? One day they'll have the audacity! And it occurred to me that he could be talking to literally hundreds of women with this approach. Just a little multi- tasking with his dates. No way?!! Is that even possible? Lol, the scrote really is nothing special! The dude I have in mind, called me for the first time cause I was tired of the constant texting....and I could hear regular bips as if he were receiving emails...also at some point I had the feeling he was typing. yeah they all say they invest on quantity not quality... I have no doubt that they get ghosted as well so they probably exert the least of efforts and see what sticks.. I still think it's super disrespectful. If there was a pattern of good morning texts and he breaks it without any warning, he's training you to accept inconsistent behaviors. It's up to you to see if you want to call him out (granted he hasn't showed any other red flags) out or just block him. Although three days going MIA is a l…

You were SO DAMN RIGHT. The dude I was texting with created a textationship so he could just force fake intimacy so he could ask me out for a....walk date as a first date...I mean we're almost boyfriend/girlfriend no? LMAO. I'm sure the walk would have been around his block with his bedroom as a final destination. As soon as you suggested not to engage in a textfest, I tried to switch to phone calls and he took that as me being oh so eager! Next. Lesson learned. ps: OLD is indeed a waste of time…

I never thought too much about texting but a fds user warned me about the textfests...and she is so right! Fuc*boys are so widespread with their minimal texting that we may take a dude texting us non stop as a sign of great interest. Well, players have just adopted a different strategy: monopolizing your time to force a fake sense of intimacy and sleep with you with minimal investment (texting cost them nothing). A guy who is looking for something serious will be as cautious as you are. He will …

As things started turning sour, I decided to trust my intuition and snoop. Caught him red handed with several fake social profiles Oh yeah! Taking more time to get back to you? It was a basic flip the script that doesn't take into account how women could use their womanhood to subjugate men. Yes!!! I was very very unimpressed by the movie....it's a little dumb! I find it sooooo disappointing when women just flip the script and show a total lack of imagination to the point of basically making a male movie with women in it. I totally agree with you that we as women are still vetting and we barely know them so we absolutely should not agree to exclusivity at this point. I just don't think it's a yellow or red flag that a man is asking for it, ESPECIALLY given how common/popularized poly culture is right now. I agree! At first I just thought she was a driven go getter but as her career progressed & she came out with cringe songs like ‘bow down bitches’ I realised she’s just a hyper competitive Pickmeisha- it’s all for male validation. Oh dear, I am also a sucker for wearing rose-colored glasses and get a huuuge hit of dopamine during the early stages of dating...which of course makes it very difficult to cut off men who display red flags (plus they only look rose with your glasses). We've all felt that way...I remember having sudden waves of anger while thinking of my abusive ex (which one you may ask). Keep a strong frame and gaslighting won’t work. So again, avoid the fear-based approach of “protecting myself from getting hurt” and replace it with “I can’t wait to exposè this motherfucker as either a HVM or just another dick.” It should be a fun challenge to flex your power - any other mentality leaves you far more open to getting played, trust. could be a trauma bonding situation - look up this term, it might help. Also working on your inner child and seeing why you behave in a fight /flight manner - these are deeply evolutionary survival tactics for most animals, us included. What about these guys are triggering your survival instincts? Fear of committment on your end ( maybe a certain person makes you feel trapped or perhaps feeling love is scary for you, as it is for many of us). if you care about someone, you just let them know in advance that you'll be off grid. It's common courtesy not to let people hanging in the dark if you have a relationship with them...or if you're beginning to have one.

Now, I'm very secure with myself and my boundaries. I do not talk to people who tend to trigger my anxiety. I have nothing to please or neither am I afraid of losing contact with them. Socializing and dating isn't supposed to give to anxiety, fear or stress. If it does. You aren't ready for it and/or the person isn't the one because your body is clearly saying no. That is gold! I'm the involuntary hot and cold one (anxious avoidant style) and any time I enter a relationship with someone I'm attracted to, I feel super anxious and so I withdraw. BUT some men trigger me more than others...it weeds out the ones who play games. The men I stayed with were excellent communicators, demonstrated they cared and so after a while I felt calm so I think my gut feeling is still working!

Yes! I love the comparison! Because indeed, when I travel I get excited in my chest but when I date it's my stomach which turns into a knot. At the beginning I'm excited to text and engage with someone new and as I'm becoming more and more charmed by them, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I was mostly wondering if I should take the butterflies as a gut feeling or if one can fall in love with a HVM and have the butterflies at the beginning because the beginning of dating is always a little bit uncertain (but maybe a HVM would make this uncertainty go away from the get go?).

I am an introvert who loves spending time alone, and I have no problem being single, so if a man wants to be a part of my life he needs to add to it, and not take away from it. His presence needs to be better than my time alone with myself is, which is a very high bar for me because most people exhaust me and I generally prefer to be alone. Same! Being an introvert is such a blessing once you get rid of the societal pressure...also it was quite handy during the pandemic!

I’ve been very sick, have lost family members including my father, had to juggle 60 hrs work weeks while studying and have been no contact with family for a while. Not once did I feel any real support or understanding from my SO’s. If anything, they made my life more difficult. I'm sorry :/ Every single one of my exes (who were dotted boyfriend for the most part) took advantage of moments of weakness. It's one thing to be masculine man and therefor presenting typical masculine traits like taking the lead, having provider tendencies and other stuff that I think can be of value, but it's another whole different thing being a bdsm dom. In fact a masculine man will do the exact OPPOSITE of a piece of shit "dom". He will provide and protect you, make sure that you are not hurt!

You can dedicate a notebook just for your dating experience: write everything down, from the text exchange to the dates and how it made you feel. When you revisit your notes you can do it as an external person....it helps a lot! To be honest, I think the problem with a lot of us is that we see the red flags and we have the gut feeling...but we don't want to act on it because we have a crush. Writing will force you to take the right decision. And coming back to fds of course :)

I dont particularly like Meghan, but I dont know her, but none deserves to have SUCH an intensive smear campaign towards them on international tv. Once again the patriarchy gets away with hating on a woman. Same! I'm going to be downvoted into oblivion but I'm pretty sure Meghan has used marriage with Harry to give herself some fame she would never had just playing suits...and knew fully what she was walking into. During the engagement interview Harry mentioned warning Meghan about the weight of…

fds is going to ruin most shows, a lot of films and novels ;) But this is for the better! I agree "true love" is the most toxic bs we've been sold. Men, on the opposite, have no problem quantifying the number of qualities and never settling unless they got the best deal they can afford.

Exactly no one. They don' t have to beg. Yep, the crazy thing is this narrative has dominated the public sphere so much that even we women can think in terms if "waiting" when in fact, deep down, we're just not rushing until we're comfortable. The vocabulary of "getting hard to get" and "being a little dog" or "begging" is sooo telling about how they perceive intimacy. It's not about getting to know someone, it's about getting something from us and if we refuse for good, safety reasons, they see…

Exactly! He's saying let yourself being pumped and dumped in few weeks rather than growing feelings and ending up in the same scenario three months later...but he's also saying no guys is willing to wait for three months. That is the goal my dude, dropping dudes who are only after sex...because no guy is a good actor enough to pretend for three months without throwing a red flags parade. They know time is against them!

Just ignore that noise! With men I met in real life? It never happened, they'll take time to escalate and they'd rarely try to kiss me even after the first date. On tinder? I had one guy suggesting to go to his place after dinner. I think it's mostly OLD which objectifies women even further and the fact that guys you meet there don't belong to your social circle, so they're not forced to see you as a person but rather as an object.

I love that campy horror film. It seems like things have only gone backwards since it was made so it remains the only reference to illustrate certain kinds of brainwashing. Perfect Valentine's movie for a single lady.

Maybe I just lack ambition and the killer instinct but somehow it looks like a draining, exhausting way to go through life and not good for creative inspiration in any case. There's a way to be ambitious without competition. I consider myself as ambitious but I'm the least competitive person and I hate comparison. As you said, it doesn't help genuine creativity...for me, I need to silence a lot of voices to engage in creative work. Is it the best? I don't know, but it's original and singular. Al…

So though I hate rapey patriarchal abusers the most, I reserve some of that sentiment for certain types of PickMes. But I see emotions like that as colors in a paint box. The colors themselves are neither good nor bad-- it only matters what picture you paint with them. I remember reading her autobiography when I was around 17 yo and being puzzled by her description of "befriending" a young student and spending time with her and Sartre in a kind of menage à trois. At the time, part of me thought it was cool and the other one sensed that something was wrong... Dating is about boundaries and dealbreakers, if any of those are broken then it's game over. This is so true! In fact even if he treats you well 90% of the time, it's game over. This is soooo interesting, and thanks for your input! I started to get a bit annoyed at the pop psychology behind attachment theory. I have no doubt it can be helpful as a tool among many but it seemed to be used too many times to justify the shitty behaviors of the neglectful partner (he's just the avoidant type) and self blame ("I'm clingy"...no, he's an asshole so anything you do will come off as clingy). Of course I'm simplifying a lot. Your third paragraph is particularly interesting...so i…

So you'll clean the mons pubis, labia majoria, labia minora with just your hand or 1x a week? During and after your menstrual cycle, before and after sex, after a bowel movement? Are you trolling or playing dumb on purpose? I'm JUST discussing the use of a washcloth, neither the regularity of cleaning nor the use of soap....and scrubbing my skin once a week is on TOP of washing myself with soap. Also if you were curious (as I was with the washcloth) instead of being judgmental and quick to be co…

Please be a man....women have to use a washcloth to clean themselves daily. Says whom lol? This last line is pretty offensive! Soap and water, plus a scrub once a week is how it's done in some places but apparently women are not women over there?

How many of us looking back realize we looked past red flags? Then we get attached to them and its near impossible to walk away. My gut was screaming and yet I still proceeded without caution...I always felt like I was intentionally running into a wall with my eyes wide open. Such a weird feeling. We (at least I did) knew but chose to ignore.

Welcome to the club!!! I feel we're all going through a phase where we feel we've been scammed, when the patriarchal glasses fall off... Wether you end up meeting a HVM, dating or not...it's such a blessing to become truly independent and self-reliant (not in a lib fem way where independence means becoming more of a slave to a man who doesn't bring anything to the table). So in either scenario, single or with a HVM, we'll be perfectly fine!

That was my shower thought today after I soiled my mind by reading disgusting Armie Hammer's DMs. He's only a symptom of how society is pushing for BDSM and degrading acts towards women...when in fact a guy should be grateful to be in our presence and consider intimacy as the gift it is. Thanks for the reminder, we need them daily to counterbalance the patriarchal brainwashing in favor of LVM.

Wait, is it the same story? Gosh I'm sorry about it! What an awful person :/ I recall a couple of months ago someone posting here on FDS about how her pickme friend in college invited her out to a party, but when they arrived, they were at an abandoned warehouse and some strange man tried to pull the OP out of the taxi. Relatable. LVM's and Pickmes are the reason why I'm choosing to be alone, so from "hating to be lonely", I've ended up like "I absolutely love being by myself." Why? I have a ton shit of hobbies that need to be cultivated and people didn't actually added value to my life, they just took, abused and discarded me. Never again. THAT!

Men are almost more straightforward. I expect abuse from them almost. But pickme women are insidious. Whenever I’ve felt betrayed, it was because of a pickme woman. it can be more insidious...also because we give more leeway to our friends...at least I did.

LV/NV do this thing with women where they take away our ability to believe in the existence in HVM which is one of the most powerful things they can do. At the end of the day them making you believe it's a falsehood makes you settle, give up, or live in negativity. Very good point!!!!

And the show does it in such a heavyhanded way, too. I don't like TV shows that try to force modern value systems onto historical characters. It's funny that you say that because the very first scene of the trailer is a hint at the sexism she encountered. But I’m a theatre kid, I like pretending and I like being able to hang it up what I’m done. It’s an exercise in empathy if the writing is good. If it’s reeeally good you can even understand the villain, doesn’t mean you agree with or condone their actions. Everyone has flaws, even the good ones make mistakes. Damn are we talking Aristotle's poetics now? :) That was actually his theory. For him theatre was used as a catharsis for all our pent up emotions. I now feel like the very uncool Plato who…

I see that everyone strives for constant improvement, not for a sudden perfect change, which means that some of us will be ahead in their journey, while others have it harder due to past trauma and personal things that sometimes need to be addressed with therapy. The main goal of FDS is not about searching for HVM Who said it was? Certainly no me. I was just pointing the irony of reproducing in a world full of LVM. I'm happy by myself and have no intention to date at the moment. This being said, there is no way I can financially have a kid by myself, given my career...and given that HVM are almost like unicorn...I'm not really betting on having kids right now. But I'm happy to mentor young women.

I also think that for those of us who don't care about marriage can stay single and keep levelling up. Totally. The "marriage minded" strategy is just here to be pickier with men I accept to let in my life...it doesn't have to translate into walking the aisle nor into intimate dating. It just came to a point where I realized that sex with most men, and having a temporary bf, ends up being a total waste of time and energy. So for me it's celibacy or someone who is really worth it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/21 07:07 PM

This☝️. Women need to be aware that there are men who will get into relationships just to have easy access to sex. Exactly! But I think sometimes we forget to examine own beliefs. I realized that every single LVM who wasted my time...deep down I knew he wasn't bringing much to the table and I was fine with that because I didn't want more...but what if I thought I couldn't get more?

Plus, consider this- if someone is busy ignoring you, they obviously don't care about you, think of the people you like and care about, do you just randomly start ignoring them? No, because you're a decent human being, they aren't. They're either doing some hot and cold intermittent reinforcement type thing where they're trying to get you hooked on their (crumbs of) attention or there is some other scrotacity at play. I view these experiences as gifts. I know this probably sounds ridiculous, but I compare it to that “thank you, next” song. Lol, I could have written every single words, from the strategy to delete and block a dude to avoid sending the dreading message at the beginning, to now gaining the strength to do it without flinching, to have the "thank you next" song in my mind when I do it. I obviously second everything you wrote. At first you force yourself and develop strategies not to cave in, then y…

Tbh, there's a lot of men out there with the audacity to treat their love like it's a freaken religion. They expect you to believe in "their love for you" like a good faithful woman Lol, they've heard that the way to a woman's heart is through her ears and think we're too stupid to notice the discrepancy between their words and their actions. Joke on them.

I want someone who respects me and makes life easier for me, but I'm not looking for an intense relationship that drains me of my energy and will to live. My partner will not be my best friend. I think men got the wrong idea when it comes to love. Intense relationship : trauma bonding Your partner being your best friend: Either you doing emotional labor or him getting ammunitions for later. Your diary is your best friend, and your partner, as you said, makes your life easier so YOU can keep thri…

YES YES and YES one more time!!! There was this post yesterday about the false narrative of providers. I get it. If you expect a man to provide while you'll stay home, you may setting yourself up for failure because if he leaves...you get nothing and you made yourself dependent on his money. BUT OP did not seem to consider the possibility of having a career, money of your own and still dating providers. That's the way to go. This being said how do you justify it? Do they even learn the language of the countries they are staying in? Do they genuinely immerse themselves in the culture? Oh no, they're onto the next insta pic and the next flag to put on tinder.... But they visited so many countries. It's funny because I posted today on men being providers but my post did not show up I guess. I want it all. The career, the drive, the happiness...and if a man is in my life, he should be a provider which is why he should make more than me. It's the only way for me to be okay with men's fickle nature. If he's a HVM, everything will be fine, but if he turns out to be LVM at least I'm not leaving empty handed for my emotional labor.

Exactly! It has been accepted in society that men and women go 50/50 with the woman working full time and still doing the chores and no one saw it as being contradictory so why not seeking what is beneficial for me? He provides and still have my own career.

Thank you!! That's exactly my thought. I expect him to pay at least 80 and I still won't cook and clean for him...because I'm busy chasing after my dreams. And if he wants to do 50/50 because we both work he can find himself a housemate.

I did notice. I think he was trying to appeal to men at large, so a majority of LVM concerned with their penis. He may also be a well meaning brainwashed dude. He probably grew up in an era where sex may still have been taboo and liberal ideas just started to pop up. It's better to find a man who is objectively good, where even if you remove all emotions and describe him to a total stranger, he still sounds like a catch. I agree, but it is not exclusive: for me projecting myself with someone into the future forces me to evaluate one more objectively. If I used the "do I want to get stuck with him as a life long partner" as a thought experiment, I would have eliminated more easily all the different guys I crushed on who happened to be LVM. Yes absolutely! My message is quite simple: if you don't want to date down and settle, ask yourself if you could see the person you're dating as part of your future. If the answer is no, move on. This advice is mostly for women who are done entertaining clowns using the narrative that "it's just temporary".

I totally agree! This mindset is relatively new to me but it feels like a light has been switched on and there's no going back. There is this myth that a man can begin with low effort dates like walking and coffee dates and then after he sees what you bRiNg To The TaBlE he'll start courting you properly and start putting in the effort. This is exactly why these type of men don't want a real relationship where they have to invest anything into the woman, because she actually does have power in that type of relationship and can benefit herself and fulfil her needs. In the relationship he wants the woman gets nothing and has nothing. Exactly, that's why I made the parallel with Tinder. Yep, which again speaks volume about how deceptive they are. They go on a website called "seeking arrangement" where the transaction is crystal clear, young and beautiful with rich and old/non attractive guy and then they pretend they have no idea what the deal is. They always want free sex and will use any means to have it with women out of their league: relationships for the traditional websites, money for SA...without providing any of them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/01/21 07:26 PM
14

That's what I thought until I made my account and read the profiles of these "SD". They got the "young and beautiful" part right, but forgot the other side of the arrangement which is money. So many of them are pretending to want a long term thing, a connection...it's ridiculous. Basically they put the women in a place of begging for crumbs.

Exactly! I think it's both trying to get the max benefits for free, while keeping you in a state of servitude. Aside from having these pedo fantasies, that's why they go for very young women, thinking that showing them the world is enough. Let’s not confuse attractiveness with power. Beauty is only skin deep and it fades. That’s not real power. And look at how abused beautiful actresses and models are treated by men. They don’t respect them. That’s not power. This. And the sad part is, as men want us to believe that beauty is power, these actresses and models, if they are not aware of the game, end up even more miserable and confused: desired by most and yet used and abused. Gaslighting pretty much.

Also for me, I'm not sure I'd trust a partner I met at a bar...especially if it was during one of the "nights with the boys" and he keeps the habit. I'll assume he'll keep hitting on women wh…

Do you attribute it to the fact most people are drinking and not using the healthiest coping mechanism? (I'm not talking about the drink here and there but the regulars)? Or do you think people tend to shift their mindset when going to the clubs/bars? A little bit like guys on OLD. Even the decent ones are up to no good when they resort to the apps.

I find that women are less interested in technical fields and more interested in creative fields but we need to push ourselves and become indispensable as a professional, no matter what field we're in. you're so right! Yes if she wanted to, she would. And if she valued the friendship she would explicitly let you know when she's going through a rough patch and can't be available much or she would communicate how she likes to communicate...because she doesn't want you to be left in the dark.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/01/21 12:13 PM
7

That is true, but I feel that, as with men, if the friend values the friendship, she should give heads up or explain/apologize if/when she replies way too late, or set the expectations by communicating how she communicates so there's no misunderstanding.

So true! I first got rid of the LVM and shifted all my love and attention on the few remaining girlfriends that survived the last big Marie Kondo episode...then I got severely disappointed and now I'm perfectly happy giving this love to myself. I have friends but I don't expect much and I certainly don't give more than I receive.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/01/21 12:01 PM

That’s really relatable. I guess now I think it’s more important to set a good example of what it means to be a woman empowered by self love than to caretake people. Someone else can rescue the women that I was trying to rescue; meanwhile, I’m going to create, build, and express myself in much larger ways that will hopefully have a greater impact on more women. LOVE
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/01/21 11:59 AM
6

Yes!!! I feel that meeting people through work and career (granted you love what you do) is the best, because you don't start the relationship talking non stop about LVM going in and out...eventually you get more personal as you get closer but the foundation of the friendship was your true interests and that makes a big difference.

It's a great first book for recovering Pickmeishas, but it definitely gives off a 'how to catch a man vibe', which we don't do here. Yes, this book made me see the light before I discovered fds (and was the first step). I somehow agree that the second part can be a little...manipulative but even in the best relationship, I believe there is a slight part of manipulation...for the good of the relationship. It can turn into a martyr complex, wherein we derive our sense of self-worth primarily from how much we sacrifice. it’s such bullshit and definitely has influenced dating culture and women too much. Yes!! The rite of passage of any fds queen: the wake up calls and the fall of rose colored glasses. I don't want to insult any aspie women who may be on the sub but I sadly convinced myself that my two options were either an aspie or a narc...they don't have to really be one or the other but sadly society turn men into versions of aspie/narcs (the lack of emotional intelligence, the selfishness, the manipulation...)

I fully agree but the trick is that as an empath I genuinely enjoy giving to people and I don't think (at least) consciously that I'm trying to prove how lovable I am...but deep down maybe this is what is at stake? In any event, redirecting all this love and focus on myself allowed me to drop people who don't step up. If I treat myself really well then I can't stop tolerate sub par behaviors.

One of my best friends thinks that relationships should be thought in terms of chunks or periods rather than lifetime and I tend to agree with her. I mean I'm a totally different person from the young woman in her early 20's. I think men seeing us as a placeholder is less of a problem if we don't focus on them. yes and fuck buddy implies you're free to sleep with whoever you want while fwb implies an emotional aspect that is used to keep the woman monogamous.

I was in the same conundrum recently, not wanting a bf but still desiring sex and I came to the conclusion that my self-esteem is more important than my pleasure and some occasional company. I'm willing to wait till a guy I like really wants me. You can do fwb and be respected if the guy sees you as more, if not, even if you only wanted sex to start with, his lack of respect and desire to please you, will erode your soul.

I totally agree! Some advice are to masturbate before a date to take the edge off...I'm not sure about it. For me it's like sugar, the more I engage in it, the more I want it.

Once you have seen and experienced enough, you realize that all relationships have an expiration date, that men are predictable, and that they will inevitably bore you. When you're done mourning that, you will begin to embrace it, and focus on something more tangible, like material benefits. This!! Also you say only date (no sex)...do you follow the handbook? Waiting three months? That is the most difficult part for me...especially if I'm not in the mindset to commit.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 09:49 AM

Same story and it only lasted two months before I caught myself feeling anxious for no apparent reasons. Everytime I read these stories, I wonder "did we date the same guy"? It turns out we all dated Scrote at some point.

It's a question of perspective, I don't mind them running after me while I'm minding my own business, I just don't want to keep running from them when I have other things to do :) ps: I hope it doesn't sound like scrotish!

Even as someone who did not grow up with the Disney fairy tale, I do grieve the romantic in me and I'm still not sure if I totally want to let it go, and yet after each relationships everything became clear to me, their motives, what they said, why they said it...(yes, in short their own benefits, period) It would be nice if I could reprogram myself to be attracted to guys who add things to my life BIG TIME....but truth be told, the nice romantic feeling with a cutie is getting old very quickly.

the only way a man can feel sexually content and accomplished is by feeling like he barely snatched something that's about to bail on him any minute. that sounds freaking exhausting. I have better things to do in my life than run anytime he gets closer, I'd rather run after my goals.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/12/20 10:05 PM

Wether everyone is capable of this, or not, you have lost trust in him and you won't ever feel safe. An ex bf said, it is because I can protect you, that I can hurt you as well. As you said, it's one thing to protect you and make sure everyone is safe, it's another one to lose control.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/12/20 08:42 PM

I agree! Ideally you'd multi date but do not force yourself and disturb your balance just so you try not to be focused on him. As someone else said, ultimately he is competing against yourself. Things that worked for me to stay level headed, when I did not have many options, was not to drink and keep a journal.

wow, you explained it sooo well!! I love it. You somehow answered the post I deleted, saying that I have no problem going for the utility mindset at certain time of the year (basically when I can take a break from work and around spring) and it works..for a while, but when fall rolls around I tend to get attached and this is when, either a my favorite guy from the roster will step up or I will cut most of them before I lose. haha i like the analogy!! Particularly the cat café. On a similar note, I remember having a date with a guy and we agreed that we'd only cuddle and watch a movie. He stayed true to his words. Don't ever say anything to the guy - just observe how you feel around him. Women tend to overshare at the initial stage of courtship under the mindset of developing a chemistry, but that's will put us in the position of vulnerability. Between men and women, women should be more secretive since we have more to lose. Observe, don't share. Yes!!! I've been guilty of oversharing. I need to be quiet and observe. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/20 08:43 PM

ugh, I guess the lesson is to be careful of men who want to be exclusive when there is a pandemic...it's very convenient for him, but is he still sticking around when there's no lockdown and health related risks? edit: word
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/20 08:42 PM

He could also still be hurt from the previous relationship if his wife really cheated hence the "how can you know that"...He may have wanted reassurance from you as he does not know you well yet. In any event, if there's something fishy you will feel it soon enough.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/20 07:22 PM

Yessss!! A month is plenty of time, I'd even say by the fourth date he knows perfectly where the two of you stand.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/20 05:57 PM

Really? But aside from lovebombing, three or four dates max should be enough to know if he wants to give it a chance. Guys know quickly. Lovebombing is a whole different story (future faking, grand gesture...) but wanting exclusivity can be established early on. ps: for me exclusivit and gf is the same. So I guess he should know if he wants to pursue a relationship early on.

Do you say it though? Or do you expect the guy to bring it up without having to mention exclusivity at all? As Unlikely-Marzipan said, from my experience the only time I had to clarify, the guy obliged but he was not actively pursuing me (and I had the feeling he was still talking to other women). The relationships that worked, I did not say anything, he's the one who felt the need to DTR.

oooh yeah!! I dated people in my field and they always do that. I have no pb putting them in their place though...it's just the lack of empathy that is a deal breaker for me..I mean then why not just dating a robot? Sigh.

Same here!! The only time I actually asked was with the guy who was smirking at his phone (you commented that I should listen to my gut). I saw him few times, felt the need to ask for clarification..but then he proceeded to throw me a flag parade.

If he acts clueless about what dating is supposed to lead to, he might even agree to a relationship if the woman asks him - if he doesn't have a better option. Spot on!!! I was close to fall into the trap...before I retrieved my common sense and blocked him.

She said once "someone could send me a pic of him being close to a woman and I would not be worried because I trust him" huuuh really? There was another video where he was mansplanning her the whole time and cut her in a really dry way "what are we arguing about?"... That was a good example for me of listening to my gut. He seems to be a doting husband but there is something off...the power imbalance is way too big.

Oooh I see! I'm very bubbly introvert, so I have the opposite pb, people thinking I'm always like that and sometimes being surprised or even disappointed when i'm reserved and quiet. Well, honestly I would just ignore the assholes trying to prove anything to you. It took me a very long time to get rid of most the friendships I deemed toxic...and I was left with very few people. You're right! That's gold!!! It can be tricky when you tend to be an introvert to juggle family, friends, bf, career and self care!! It put me in the situation to rely a little too much on my exes...especially if we had a lot in common. My last relatively HV bf who never said anything harmful ended up making a comment that hinted at me being a loner (I still had friends just not a lot). This was one of the reasons I dropped him...but it also showed me that I should be more careful with what I share.

Who cares if it sounds mean? Changing the subject is so freaking disrespectul and immature. I just call them out "like hey don't change the subject"...but most of the people I know/knew didn't do it. The one who did, it did not abode well and they belong to the past.

We all make mistakes, don't be so harsh on yourself and don't forget we live in a pickme society! The same thing happened to me last year...I cried for a week after blocking him...not because I lost him but because i felt I betrayed myself like I never did before (and I'm not talking about abuse but going dutch, enduring his stupid sense of humor...) Then I stumbled on fds. So the LVM led me here :)

I don't like the idea of consent and I think it totally ruins the mood big time. Why? Because it tells me that my partner has no capacity for discernment, or chose not to use it. I see consent as a value signaling attitude that truly is the consequence of a transactional mindset. It's not a coincidence if the emphasis on consent has emerged with the hookup culture. If we really took the time to get to know someone and if guys were interested in a real connection, they would not have to ask at a …

I think we're getting there (hopefully). Just the fact that this sub exists gives me hope! More and more women are frustrated by the libfem discourses and realized that they've been brainwashed to be used. I mean just look at you tube! There are so many videos now talking about having standards.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 01:59 PM
6

I know, it is! But we also think that way because we are traditionally the reciprocator, so our desire is fed by the desire of our partner. I could never be in the mood if my partner is not...but some guys don't give a damn. In a society where we are objectified, it doesn't matter if we are in the mood or not, we are just here to receive, be it attention, sex...you name it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 01:56 PM
11

Consent is such a low bar anyways. It's the bare minimum to not go to jail, but still fails to pass moral standards of what's right and wrong. Hell yeah!! Let's swap consent for genuine enthusiasm. My ex serious bf could tell even before me when I was in the mood or not.

I don’t understand why more men don’t romance and touch and kiss their partners, hold their hands, doesn’t it feel good for them too? Sex is infinitely more amazing when you are in an affectionate, loving relationship I came to the conclusion that they are just not evolved enough, seriously. The one who were amazing for the most part, had a sensitive side and were capable of emotional depth. It's like they knew how to appreciate truffe and caviar while the other ones are just happy and "fulfille…

On the one hand this all does weed out weak lvm, but on the other there is such a huge disparity now of hvm and lvm. Yess!!!! The gap is abysmal...it's like two different species. I wouldn't even call them HVM but decent guy vs LVM.

my bf when we were in our early twenties picked me up, opened the door for me, called me, cooked for me, kissed my eyelids...it turned out he was narc so it did not work out in the long run but that did set the bar pretty high and I'm glad it did. I think some of them (the smart ones) are actually quite skilled in the bedroom because they realized you're not likely to stick around otherwise, especially if they are not offering you a relationship.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 01:41 PM
7

Lol, you're not!!! That's what I'm used to and a guy not making any efforts is a huge turn off. They still know how to do it but I agree that porn AND OLD with women pursuing them left and right has made them super entitled and lazy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 01:38 PM
12

I see your point but as an empath people do make me feel a certain way. My strength lies in discerning what comes from me (hungry and losing my patience? Sad because pre pms...) and what comes from people. Then I can decide who is adding happiness to my life and who is bringing me down and warrants to be blocked so I can keep my energy up.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 01:31 PM
77

Ok, so I'm not the only one who went through the shock of discovering that such things existed...Before last year and my attempt at dating through OLD, none of my partners mentioned porn nor had a fetish for my butt. I can't tell if it's OLD that frees guys to do whatever they fancy (because you don't have mutual friends and see you mostly as a hookup) or the porn getting more extreme with time...or a mix of both.

Talking about TRP tactics, there was a guy who would mention his competition like I don't mind if you sleep with other guys. In the moment I thought he just did not give a damn but I wonder if it's a reverse dread tactic. I mean if the guy really doesn't care why would he mention such a thing? It definitely had the effect of making me feel very insecure in a way that is less obvious than if he had mentioned other women.

but they always forget legs day and overdo trapezes so it looks like they have no neck...ugh.

Oh I believe you, they are so many other ways to be a pickme. I'm going through many flashbacks, it's embarrassing 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 09:17 PM

In this case it really is them, not you. We need to stop internalizing their shitty behavior as if we were responsible.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:57 PM

Chumplady is amazing!! Fds before fds existed. I discovered that my narc ex was leading a double life because I snooped. My gut told me something was off, and I was right. I believe that in most cases if you need to snoop the relation may be over (your gut is warning you).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:56 PM

I can't deal with men who change the topic like you said nothing....are we going to pretend that ignoring is not super disrespectful? Glad you blocked him.

I have been laughing a lot here on this sub, women are definitely hilarious! As for men on OLD, most are boring. I have few guy friends who are hilarious but they've been raised by single moms.

I was going to say Dave Chappelle! Probably the funniest human being alive.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:31 PM

Dating American men is like trying to go out with your son I'm not American but have dated American guys, spot on. Men from other countries, particularly those who were raised by single mom were way better.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:30 PM

The idea behind blocking is that it communicates both to the guy and to yourself that he's dead to you, so who cares what he thinks? He's not relevant, he does not exist anymore.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:16 PM
2

Every time you unblock a fuckboy, every time you give a shitty person a second chance, you let yourself down. That comes at a much larger personal cost that what some idiot might think about you blocking him. Three seconds later that guy is sending messages to the next woman on his rolodex and has forgotten you entirely. But yourself won't let you forget this so easily. so true!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 07:13 PM

Yep, even if you are over him, you just don't want your glorious energy to be ruined by a dude who thinks he can come and go as he pleases.

BDSM has absolutely no redeemable qualities, Religion on the contrary has so many sound principles and they are so many badass women who revolutionizing it from within.

being in contact with him is just retraumatising myself so true! You can do it!! You may miss him at times but the relief and the peace of mind is so worth it (and I'm not even talking about the self esteem and prioritizing yourself).

I think the root of it is your familial upbringing. You mentioned you had to mother your siblings, I did not and as a result I have never mothered a guy. In fact I was oblivious of the male bumbler until I met one of those whom I liked a lot, but his lack of basic skills was a huge turn off. All of my exes cooked for me, knew how to clean and were very tidy. They also had no pb planning things and I was usually in the passenger seat.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 05:26 PM

my narc ex used to text me some mystical, spiritual, soulmate/twin flame mumbo jumbo between the hours of 9pm and 6am. He would get so angry with me because I always replied "what do you want now?" 😂

You are indeed a great writer (came from your thanksgiving post) and I feel we are relatively in the same phase of the mourning process (although I've been lurking fds for six months now). I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't wait for your next post about feeling free from all these expectations!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 03:43 PM
4

yes and all the "attachment" theories that make YOU responsible...as if it were in your power to be "secure" when all the clowns we are surrounded by are relentlessly trying to bring our self esteem down. Sigh.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 03:33 PM
4

Would you recommend it? So far OLD has been a joke. I'm not dating at the moment but maybe later. Also nice username, pas de promesses, pas de déception :)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 11:16 AM

When it gets difficult and I'm tempted to give in (be it unblock a lvm or date again) I like to think of the women who fought for us to be here and have basic rights, I like to think of my mother who made so many sacrifices and I like to think about the next generation. I don't want to sound dramatic nor self-centered as if the course of history depended on a silly stupid text but it is important to remind ourselves that what is at stake is always more than a silly stupid text.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/20 12:05 AM

I love the positive queen pep talk but there is indeed a mourning process that starts when we realize the harsh reality of patriarchy and how we've been brainwashed no matter how educated and aware we thought we were!! I am starting my celibacy journey and it's scary to unlearn patterns but at the same time there are moments of pure happiness and relief. Virtual hug to you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 11:59 PM

Dating with laser focus intention, and gut feeling acknowledgment, one block at a time!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:56 PM
2

Yes!! So men interested in getting physical prefer to sit next to you. That way they can get closer than if they were to sit in front of you. It's also less confrontational in their mind, but also less intimate because there's no eye contact. It's the same idea with date walk...and they can accidentally brush you and get closer.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:46 PM
6

I read about it, like a spin class-date. The guy sees you in fitting clothes, no make up, doesn't waste his time and doesn't have to pay for anything.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:43 PM
2

I have no idea how they deal with the dissonance...I guess in their mind it means they can afford to rotate without going broke. It's the only explanation I can find.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:41 PM
6

nope, instead they shame us for "digging" their inexistent gold.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:40 PM
2

WHERE did you find them?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:36 PM

I made fun of him for bringing those girls to sit on a bench at a park. Asked if it rained. How was the nearby garbage can. If a homeless man interrupted them for spare change Thanks for the laughter. Seriously I should date women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:35 PM
3

hahaha I love that!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:34 PM
8

I'm the same way. When it's over, it's over, but I did stay too long in some relationships...in fact entered them when I should have turned around. What fds taught me is not to give the benefit of the doubt when the first red flag shows up.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:24 PM

yes, all of that!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:19 PM

It is abuse! It's crazy how men have introduced apparently harmless little things to "train" us to accept the bare minimum. I had two guys last year being slightly disrespectful and my friends thought I was overreacting. The first disappeared mid conversation (at night) and texted back in the morning. I told him not to do that again, if you're going to disappear then just say goodnight (his excuse was "sorry I fell asleep" dude it takes ten second to exit the convo!). The other one went MIA for …
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:15 AM
3

Got it, I guess the subtext of my question is more "how can he ghosts" you if you let him initiate. Then he goes MIA and that's enough for a block.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 10:02 AM
8

Why does he do that, such an eye opener about abusive men. I wish I read it a while ago.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 12:31 AM
5

haha, well here I am to confirm your intuition ;) True! A keto cake for the occasion would do.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 12:21 AM
23

yes!!! In fact the irony of fds is that after a while your dating "strategy" may very well be NOT to date.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 12:07 AM
5

If you're doing keto or if you just want to remove sugar from your life (because you get addicted to it and it has absolutly zero nutritional quality) then it's better to decline the cake. It's a lifestyle not a diet.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 11:55 PM
3

I'm trying to do keto. Dang, every day I find excuses to have my last piece of bread, sigh.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 11:52 PM
7

Another question, what do you mean by ghosting? Not replying or not initiating? It does not matter since the guy should initiate but still wondering.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 11:46 PM
3

can you send her a link to this sub?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 06:30 PM
8

Is there any chance you can talk to them? Using the excuse of talking about their homework? I don't know how strict the rules are and if you'd be overstepping any boundaries but I guess I would try. I did that with college student when I was the TA for a class.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 06:29 PM
1

That was my first thought!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 06:07 PM
2

Haha, yep! In fact I ran like I retrieved my common sense and did not want it to be taken.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 02:29 PM
3

Good point! I wish it worked like that for me...or even better, the more you have sex with yourself the more you're in love with yourself...it would be amazing haha.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 12:02 PM
47

Yep, I mean even when I was not traumatized and had generous partners...it stinks when oxytocin kicks in and you can tell he was in just for the fun.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 08:37 PM
13

you mean till the next morning?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 08:25 PM

I agree!! It's not worth it even when you think you're safe..
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 08:25 PM
43

I feel you! I'm happy to be single but during that time of the month I'm so close to call someone who knows how to please me. Just remember, we are not our hormones...it's like any craving.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 08:23 PM
1

Give me some of that "evaluation mode" aura :) I do have to say I used to feel bad for not offering to pay, now if the guy suggest we split, I lose interest...so I'm making progress!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 07:10 PM
1

Yes, cheers to women who want to keep their own place! I really want to keep my own place not only in case, but also because this is the way I recharge. I can't spend all my time with someone even if they are amazing...and I like the possibility to miss each other a little bit.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 01:31 PM
1

No we did not but it definitely showed me what men are capable of when they really want you!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 12:02 PM
1

Thanks for your long reply :) I'm sorry to hear about your past traumas...and I hope you can get the emotional closeness with HV people and I include female friends...ironically I got disappointed more often by friends than by partners, because I don't trust men to start with. I don't think I'm dismissive because I crave emotional closeness and I have no pb being vulnerable..in fact I seek that I can't deal with a cold partner... but I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop, because my dad …

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/11/20 02:43 PM

I wanted to ask you if what you're describing is not a dismissive avoidant attachment style? I just realized I may be fearful-avoidant but it does not translate into coldness. It's more a push pull tendency. I crave closeness and I have no problem being very open but then I need tones of space and I look for the first sign of BS to walk away. I don't know how you feel about it but so far mine has been very helpful. I wonder if there really is a pb with this attachement style (hypervigilance, wai…

uugh I'm sorry but glad that he's just a memory to be made fun of on reddit haha. There will be a day when scrotes will behave because they'll be too afraid of being the scrote of the month on fds....a girl can only dream! I had something similar happening to me, but with generosity. I was dating someone cheap at the time and I was having drinks with a guy friend who, it turns out to the surprise of none, was very into me. He ended up paying for the drinks while I was in the bathroom (instead of…

ha! True a LVM man is shitty regardless of age...so maybe it's the rise of LVM with the younger generations?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/11/20 11:19 AM
5

And in order for FWB to work, the man has to be someone you don't want to date who you run no risk of catching feelings for. That would put him securely in the LVM category. Why give a LVM the time of day, much more your time, energy, and access to your body? It makes no logical sense. Bunch of Cool Girl nonsense. Yes! But then I would not be attracted to him. Attraction + sex : feelings. I know it's 2020 but my body has no freaking clue.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 11:02 PM

Same...but so far it has not been very successful, they've been too childish.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 10:59 PM

Hilarious!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 06:07 PM

lol, one dude I was seeing said "oooh I need to clean since you are coming" Excuse me?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 06:01 PM
2

May I ask how old you are? I used to do 70/30 (like they would pick up the bill 7 times out of ten) and I was the only one of my group of (pickme) friends insisting on being treated by a man...I still ended up picking up the bill once in a while.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 06:00 PM
5

yep, if you add the emotional labor... they for sure are!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 05:57 PM
4

Yet he wouldn’t even pick me up from my place and bring me home the next day... he would pick me up, take me to dinner, drop me home at my place, and then expect me to drive to his place after dinner so that I had my car and could drive myself home the next day! Are you kidding??!!! The level of pettiness is unheard of! I can't imagine a guy seriously asking such a thing! Also 2-3 hour massages every night?! He was a lucky bastard. I spent so much money on getting them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 05:56 PM
1

And the feeling is amazing!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 01:17 PM
3

That's a really good point! I'm the same way with alcohol. I went on few dates without alcohol and it was day and night. I wasn't artificially enthusiastic about the banalities they uttered. Same with food. I tried going low carb but my progress would always be derailed by dating. Just a question, your real estate license is for you to be a broker? Or to buy a house more easily? I have no clue as you can tell. Yes, the sky is the limit :) See you in 2021 for the annual report haha.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 01:16 PM
4

Holy shit!!!! That is phenomenal. Everything is super impressive BUT you quit vaping, drinking and beating anorexia in the same year?? Teach me your way! I am trying to beat my sugar addiction and my drinking (it's not heavy but still bothering me). Also I'm starting skating as well :) Anyway, congrats, you can be extremely proud of yourself and you have inspired me! Cheers (with water) to your success and to my, hopefully, successful year without dating.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 12:25 AM

I tell these men outright I CASUALLY date ONLY, Don't they think you casually have sex then? I absolutely love your perspective. You just flip the script. You'll enjoy the company and the novelty but you won't give anything (because you know it won't be reciprocal).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/11/20 11:15 PM
5

I've spent a lot of time thinking about couples I know, and the dynamics (that I can see as someone not in the relationship, of course) and interactions I've observed. There isn't a single heterosexual couple that I would want to emulate. Same. Not a single one!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/11/20 11:09 PM

Exactly. Let's be friends with benefits (for me), so emotional labor, paid dates...maybe it could lead to physical intimacy, we'll see. Let's go with the flow. You're down?

yep! Europe here (yes the entire continent haha). I can confirm...although with OLD and the import of American dating it is, unfortunately, starting to shift.

Wonderful article!! I always had a problem with consent. It is the tip of the liberal ideology iceberg. It is a way for men to deflect any responsibility by resorting to a word which has no signification whatsoever given the power imbalance. I mean what do we consent to? To be treated as an object? To be brainwashed that this very intimate act is not intimate? I find the notion of consent extremely hurtful because it spreads even more the very contractualist - but not emotionally responsible - t…

Welcome to the club! This is also very puzzling to me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/11/20 11:51 AM

Yes! I always say as soon as you are interacting intimately with someone it is a relationship. It was much easier when I grew up. You're with someone or you're not. And as you said you can be in a shitty relationship but you're not in this new limbo. I always make sure to say the word relationship because if that's kryptonite to him then good riddance.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/11/20 11:48 AM

Yes! I forgot to add the cuddling for hours. You're completely right, we can feel the difference and it's quite confusing at the beginning, until we realize it's mostly about them! It puts you in a state of emotional malnutrition, you're being fed so you initially think you're good, but nothing was nutritious.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/11/20 10:17 AM

The hypersexuality of the media combined with identity politics that make it normal to invent a label for every tiny little aspect of our lives Hahaha so true! There is a label for literally everything. I'm sure one exist for people whose favorite color is yellow..I know it's coming. But that applies to behavior as well and I find THAT very handy (especially when it comes to toxic behavior, identifying and naming is the first step towards healing...but I digress).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/11/20 11:21 PM
24

I agree! It's the libfem brainwashing effect. Just have casual sex because it's fun and if you don't enjoy it, there HAS to be something wrong with you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/11/20 11:18 PM

Pleasing me is only to secure continued access Second wow!!! It's funny because I was wondering if I should make a post about it. I was reading many posts about women complaining that guys couldn't be bothered. I have experienced the opposite. The last two guys I was seeing were amazing and made sure I was satisfied multiple times before they even had an orgasm. Since they can't offer us a real connection they make sure that bedroom time is amazing so we keep coming back.

This!!! Thank you. I understand the reaction of many women who have been repeatedly abused by narc and psycho and see that as a huge red flag...and I've been with a narc and a psycho as well, but there was always something off! Hence, again trust your gut to sense where that comes from, genuine curiosity? Collecting data? Now even a relatively good man can use what you said as ammunition so yes be careful, but I personally don't see the point of being with someone if I can't share meaningful thi…

I feel you!! I realize I have been relatively lucky because I have found good boyfriends and the very idea of not being genuinely loved and cared for did not even cross my mind. But then I met my narc ex who loved bomb me. This is how I found FDS and the wake up is brutal. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/11/20 12:10 PM
36

Yes! The term "dating strategy" has been associated with "playing games" to be provided for (golddigers!!!) when in fact we are not playing stupid games at all, just vetting, and the benefit for us is simply not to get used. For them the strategy is basically all about coercing women in a subtle way. We? Just have standards and if he's not a caring, kind and considerate partner just cut him off.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/11/20 12:07 PM

It turns into a little exercise: put the right name on the abusive tactic your gut feeling is the symptom of. I'm getting better at it, even if ideally I would not have to.

I did not care because we had just started dating but I'm pretty sure he did it on purpose ( I told him I was going to the restaurant with friends). At the end I ended up seeing other guys and I could tell he did not like it...I don't recommend it but I knew he would be just a fling. edit: word

reassess? No...if you reach that point it's time to cut him off. No way a guy I'm supposed to be with in a loving relationship gives me these feelings sometimes let alone consistently. My peace of mind is too precious.

Yes!! Anger is my savior. I'm sad for a second and then I become angry that this person had the audacity to hurt me when I did not do anything to warrant it...the dumping act is usually pretty close.

I didn't realize for a long time that typically when a man says "You're so much better at X than me" .... that it isn't a real compliment to your skills, it's a ploy to get you to take on stuff they don't feel like doing Oh yes!! I got the "you have so many good ideas for dates " and "you're much better at communicating". Guess what? The dude put zero effort in planning dates and was the worst communicator I ever met in my entire life.

Right? I think having a conversation and sharing stories/strategies would be a good thing. I love fds and its cut throat/no bs approach but sometimes it could be more pedagogical than...injunctive, especially when so many of us are debating wether OLD in itself is a viable dating option. Yep, with covid dating organically is impossible and on OLD guys are just thirsty like never before without having to put any effort because "everything" is closed.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/11/20 04:29 PM
5

I have no idea and it sucks because I really wanted to have a conversation about it with like minded people as a way to rule out OLD once for all (or share better strategies). I messaged the mods to no avail. I agree also about the Pickmeisha banner. I hope fds is not being victim of its success.

oh wow! What an absolute pos! That also goes to show that guys saying "she was crazy" are simply revealing that they are the toxic ones. What did YOU do to make her crazy? The psycho I was dating told me his ex was crazy, I pitied him because I was in the love bombing phase and he seemed like a very doting bf, until few months later when he pulled the rug under my feet and I was left confused, "crazy" and feeling "needy". I had one FWB who I'd explicitly agreed with that things would end were one of us to develop feelings. It was just supposed to be about casual sex and maybe some socializing free of any romantic implications. But he proceeded to actively try to get me to develop feelings for him. He couldn't stand how detached I was. There was a guy I was seeing who wanted to do more "couple" things when I seemed more interested in something casual but as soon as I was on board, guess what happened? I have no do…

Pretty much every guy I’ve ever dated go on about how ‘relaxed and chill’ they are, and they 100% of the time turn out to be the laziest, most emotionally stunted, biggest douchebags ever. Hell yes!!!!! "relaxed and chill" is usually code for "I'm lazy and emotionally stunted...you've been warned". I associate it with the "only good vibe" thing.

Yes!! I made a post about OLD which was unfortunately removed. OLD gives you the ILLUSION of abundance which is just an illusion and allows LVM to think they even have a chance with you. Right? Same here! Most of my exes would do things to surprise me and try to make me happy. Also LV in other ways but putting effort and thought into the relationship was the absolute bare minimum. The last LVM I encountered was so lazy and it was an absolute shock to me that he did not want to put thought into our dates and always acted clueless...I was familiar with the negging, the gaslighting....but I had not encountered yet the dreadful male bumbler. hahaha you cracked me up on the guy having a soliloquy. Also thank God I've never had snap and no one ever asked me for my snap. I feel the same way about blocking. If I know I won't be tempted to reply and I know the guy is not obnoxious, I don't feel like saving a number to block it. At the same time, blocking is mostly a way to preserve your energy. wow, that comment about his ex wife was worth ten red flags, glad you got out! You're right, focusing on how they act now and how this will not change is really helpful. I don't really have difficulties walking away, I usually end up doing it after one month with guys who are bad news...I'm hoping to shorten the time of reaction and get out at the first sign. Oh I did not say he was great but he seems great (when he is not). You know the lingering doubt that maybe there was misunderstanding... It's simple indeed, but hard to implement: just cut him off. I was thinking of making a pledge with myself, and writing it down: I will always prioritize my peace of mind and myself over a guy, so first red flag, he's out. Now time to walk the talk.

I still have their number, which means I could still contact them later (which I have never done so far) but also, and I don't know if it's superstitious but I don't like the idea of still having a trace of that person in my phone.

You are so right! It confused me so much that a guy would give me casual vibes while being into cuddling and saying things like "I feel so good and relaxed with you". I was thinking why acting as a bf if he does not want a relationship? Well he wants the asset without investing anything. Worst situation ever, the guy gets everything and you get nothing but confusion (when in fact it's not really that confusing if you read between the lines).

I was raised to go after my goals, focus on my studies and was always very ambitious (never ever compromised my career for a man) and yet there was this lingering feeling. No matter how driven you are as a woman, it is difficult not to be affected by how society views/has treated women and we are reminded about it all the time. "It's all about getting rid of attachments that don't serve you: attachment to the idea of needing a partner (sexual or romantic) and attachment to individuals or their potential being the biggest ones." That resonates. The second one is tough... ultimately it's our view of "what it could be" that gets us trapped. Otherwise when I'm single (as in no dating) I do feel great and unbothered.

I'm on board with you. I've only recently realized that the little feeling of missing something when I'm single comes from decades of brainwashing and for the first time I'm fully happy and whole by myself without the restlessness I used to experience. Sigh, I know what you mean. I was seeing a guy recently who turned me on like crazy and was very generous in the bedroom...but with that and the cuddling, came the feelings. It's just impossible for me to dissociate and I have no desire to do it so now on, every single time I'm tempted to go for something casual, I'll think of the consequences (because mind you he was unreliable). Let's embrace being celibate till a HVM comes around :)

It seems that there is a lot to unpack here. Maybe stop dating and try to get to the roots of your behavior? Also don't be afraid to lose anyone.. with a guy who is truly for you, it should be a relatively smooth ride.

If I can afford it, I get a massage for the touch aspect. For the other types of needs, I'm in the same boat, but it it's just not worth it at the end. You have to distinguish, is it just the orgasm you want or the full experience? If it's the orgasm then DIY is enough, if it's the whole experience then a fuckbuddy will never provide that. You'll be lying and cuddling and it will feel phony.

I tried to make a post on OLD but it was removed (I don't really know why). Do you feel OLD puts you in a scarcity mindset and a more masculine energy? What I mean is that, there are so many shitty profiles that you end up with tunnel vision with the few good ones, and the very fact of creating a profile and swiping does communicate that you are after something while meeting organically is more neutral. Do any of you have a good experience on OLD?

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/11/20 09:09 PM
5

lol, can you tell I'm done with dating apps? I tend to think that ultimately dating apps end up putting us in a masculine energy (the swiping, the low quality of guys so when we find someone worth it here comes the tendency to pursue) but maybe that's just me!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/11/20 06:54 PM

Oh I see what you mean. Sure, don't compete with a man, nor make him your goal...hence the necessity to be (work) goal oriented, dating will follow. I guess it's the same idea as "you find a HVM when you're not looking for one".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/11/20 06:45 PM
10

"The paradox is you attract HVM when you prioritize yourself, not when you prioritize attracting HVM. This doesn't mean prioritizing personal goals (that's fine though), but primarily your own pleasure. This is also not hedonism, which is indulgent." I would say prioritizing personal goals AND one's own pleasure, both! But aside from that, perfectly said.
