This stuff is pretty simple, she won't get the house without you getting anything

Divorce was filed at 18 months overall outside of the actual fighting in court and massive lawyer fees, my daughter is doing good she's almost 3 now, half of her life now her parents have been fighting in court over her but at least I have her 50% of the time

Here's a good line, "if you'd settle for 4/3 schedule you wouldn't need my consent to enroll our child in any extra curriculars on the weekends, I won't consent to anything anymore"

I agree but she makes up lies and crazy shit she says im worried it's gonna make me look bad in court.

I feel like there's a trend of divorces occurring around things like bad health episodes or sicknesses and moving or buying a new house. Usually wife forced a new house purchasethen doesn't do anything and the husband ends up stretching himself super thin and getting sick then the wife detaches instead of helping and then divorce comes. In my case it's very similar to your story, moved bought a new house, I got pneumonia ended up in hospital for a week, divorce followed after she went around tel…

My daughter is 3 and I've spent almost half of her life fighting in court for 50/50 and big money on lawyers. I do not regret a second of it, I've been doing 50/50 for over a year and I love it. We have a blast she gets to see my family much more then she did when I was married and we do whatever we want, she's my copilot. Don't give up 50/50, at the very least fight for it and get it. And if you're really unhappy can always give time back but trust me future you won't want to.

A lot of these laws just changed in many states, prior to new laws it didn't matter who had the kids more or less it was 35% goes to mom no matter what at least there's been SOME progress in last 30 years
/r/Divorce_Men15/08/24 09:20 PM
1

One thing at a time let's make it, that a man doesn't have to fight in court for years just to have 50/50 physical and legal custody of their child. A lot of states are better but many states are still living in the 50s with this stuff. Once this changes CS laws will change. While we were waiting for a zoom hearing the other day my attorney told me earlier that day he had a full agreement agreed upon in front of a judge and once mom found out she wasn't getting child support due to 50/50 she sai…

The women around the divorcing woman is by far the most toxic, they hate their life and want out but don't wanna deal with the hassle of divorce so they watch and egg them on eating popcorn. Or they want divorced company go feel.better about their miserable existence

We all do really, begged me to marry her, begged and begged, we got engaged and I told her I wasn't sure we should wait and she started screaming crying like a toddler in a restaurant, wanted to have kids Immediately got pregnant then within 6 months my apartment which she always "loved" wasn't good enough she needed a house so we downsized from a 2500 sqft condo to 900 sqft house and within a year papers were filed as soon as she got me into the house she instilled FIRM rules and every fight wa…

Future you is going to thank you for this, put on a brave face and keep trucking with your kids, get the status quo going her leaving and not having overnights is HUGE for you, the biggest fight in divorce is almost always kids especially when they're short term marriages. What you need to do next is sperate her from your house, ask her to stay outside when she comes to get them and keep this going for a few months then BAM file and have her served

Good and bad news, good news is CA is very father friendly you'll get 50/50 If you live close enough, bad news is she's gonna fight only women who fight pull that garbage, gonna need money. Don't give in CA is very 50/50.

Right exactly she seems like my stbx everything is a game never satisfied ways wanting more
/r/Divorce_Men04/08/24 08:25 PM

She got primary custody and you pay through the nose in CS AND she wants you to pay for lunches on top of all that, time to put on your big boy pants and start fighting enoughs enough man

Someone older whose pragmatic but also has trial experience, and someone who knows the system knows opposing counsels knows judges and how they rule. My attorney in the beginning was very settlement focused until it was clear that my stbx is not a reasonable person and now he's a bulldog ready for trial, I didn't think he was a competitive guy until he won a few big hearing decisions then it was like oh wow this guy likes to win.

Hahahaha love it
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 03:14 AM

Deep breaths you'll be fine, and I wouldn't doubt it does settle before you hit the court room, you have 50/50 status quo for years now, the financial stuff is pretty straight forward at the end.
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 12:44 AM
1

That's good, status quo is strong if it's been years of 50/50, what state
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 12:39 AM
1

You would be deposed and you're ex would
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 12:27 AM

Must be different where you are at, in my state depositions are standard in discovery process when trial is coming
/r/Divorce_Men02/08/24 12:22 AM

What happened in the depositions? what's the temp custody order been since this was going on?

The sexual abuse angle is somewhat rarer, but the abuse angle is almost always in every divorce that goes the distance, mine has done the same thing over a year in court not one mention of anything other than the usual don't get along blah blah and now I'm an abuser to her and our daughter almost two years ago, and she made these accusations without her lawyer literally sent an email to the GAL CCing me, my lawyer and her lawyer, claiming she's the victim of abuse two years ago and the GAL is ig…

Attorney fee if she's working, she won't get in IL. Alimony is pretty straight forward, and so is CS in IL. All of these can be calculated online, it goes based on income and years together.
/r/Divorce_Men30/07/24 12:16 PM
2

THIS I think that short circuits their brain when they "thought" they had you under control.
/r/Divorce_Men29/07/24 11:35 PM
2

Ya mine does the exact thing on OFW, I don't get it, constant 4 paragraph essays with nothing but the ramblings of posturing threats blackmail, "the judge will be hearing about this". "I will be updating my lawyer about what you're doing". "I hope for [child's name] sake you continue to grow in your journey to be a better person." It all gets ignored unless there's something that needs to be answered.
/r/Divorce_Men29/07/24 11:33 PM

I've had like 15 months of the SAME games over and over again constantly trying to cause fights idk if she's doing it on purpose or just a miserable asshole but she gets ignored every time for 15 months

Sounds like you have majority parenting time enjoy it, who cares what she does or doesnt do, would love it if my ex would go away
/r/Divorce_Men28/07/24 06:14 PM

Go along with the no CS angle, and plays stupid CS is figured AFTER parenting plan is written stamped and ordered the money part is always separate play stupid.

"when are you coming home" I come home literally the same time everyday forever and ever, the constant putting out fires with everyone always, the constant boat anchor, it's amazing how little I replied on her and how much I did for her so much free time now, even with taking care of a toddler half the time.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 01:27 AM

Sadly I saw them ALL but still did it and this was AFTER we had already broke up a few times, so stupid then married her then got pregnant on wedding night and bought a house on the same street as her parents crazy people

Let your lawyer deal with all that, don't give anything until you're instructed by the court to

My dad had good luck representing himself but that was post divorce filing and he had nothing to lose ended up getting more time and less CS but still lost the big battle with an attorney but that was in the 90s
/r/Divorce_Men23/07/24 01:55 AM

I'm just worried it can be sued against me in court when we go to trial if I'm on dating sites or something

Ive been living alone since she moved out a year ago in a few weeks splitting our 2 1/2 year old time 50/50, it's peaceful being alone but short stretches I got into basketball with friends from work and work out and go for walks with my dog, but just had to do 8 days without my daughter and that was rough.
/r/Divorce_Men23/07/24 01:52 AM
1

Less than two years when she filed, divorce process might be as long as marriage, trial date set for October 6th final mediation before trial prep starts is in two weeks we'll see what happens, I was granted 50/50 custody temp orders due to status quo my attorney is confident and smart and knows the judge and the system and says I have very good chance of getting 50/50 IF we have to go to trial but never know. I'm not so much worried about it never ending I'm worry about losing my child she's my…

I ran that same calculator and its the same number man, Ohio sucks for CS I guess most states you'd be paying pennies, but I agree with others don't pay anything until court makes you.
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/24 11:02 PM

Some guys are so oblivious, she's doing this on purpose to stop you from seeing your child, wake up. You need to have a schedule not a free for all
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/24 03:01 PM
5

Why would you let her use your vehicle if she drained all the money, it's ok mine did the same thing she won't tool the $2000 that was left in there anyways

1

Yup exactly
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/24 12:48 AM

Thats awful, that's ok better now then ten years down the line with CS alimony big assets, get it done quick hopefully there's not too much fight usually isn't when they're out having fun, hopefully papers and signed sealed delivered before the new excitement wears off and she comes back to earth.
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/24 12:46 AM
1

I would absolutely get your ducks in a row with a lawyer before you tell to them it can get ugly fast at least you have a lawyer in your pocket Couple things, you don't want any future entanglement with the house she needs to buy you out prior or at the conclusion of the divorce she won't be able to assume the mortgage that's very rare, even with 50/50 since you make more money you'll pay some sort of child support and alimony. It's very very very rare that a divorce involving children will be a…

Wait SHE left for 80 days and left the kids?
/r/Divorce_Men19/07/24 12:50 AM

My attorney has told me time and time again ignoring crazy message or emails is not an admission of guilt keeping your mouth shut is in your best interest give her the rope, she vomits to me crazy 8 paragraph messages on OFW they involve no questions nothing that needs one addressed just her attacking me putting me down for no reason, I ignore her. She does this at least once a month usually afte a court appearance where she doesn't get her way.
/r/Divorce_Men19/07/24 12:49 AM
3

Dude 80 days?!?!!? Come on the day she left I would have filed and filed emergency order
/r/Divorce_Men19/07/24 12:38 AM

That's so funny lol
/r/Divorce_Men19/07/24 12:15 AM

/r/Divorce_Men13/07/24 06:02 PM

If thats the worst thing about your marriage I'd stick it out tbh, divorce at 10 years with two young kids could be BRUTAL, go to id sit down with her and discuss counseling and see if you guys can meet halfway and work on things first. If she thinks your marriage is rosy and you start talking divorce she's gonna go full on hulk smash on you, trust me I'm going through it now told her I don't wanted a divorce she begged me to reconsider then said she'd work on things with me then few months ago …
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/24 06:34 PM
7

You're in the shit right now, remember the majority of guys have been exactly where you are at, when you're going through hell keep going, you're stronger then you even know. The only person whose gonna determine when you can see your child will be the judge make it clear he/she will be the only one deciding it if she won't settle at 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men07/07/24 06:34 PM
2

Florida is pretty hard 50/50 state now, as long as you're close to child and have a residence you'll get 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men07/07/24 02:40 PM
3

Yea then it's gonna hurt but it's only money
/r/Divorce_Men06/07/24 10:58 PM
2

Well does she work? Does she make good money? If so then it won't hurt too much, just lose half your shit but I look at it like that's her shit too if she's been working all these years so 50/50 splitting everything isn't the end of the world you'd have to share it with her if you stay married anyways
/r/Divorce_Men06/07/24 10:39 PM
5

Sadly the 6 months leading up to the divorce was cake compared to the first year of divorce it's a very very frustrating process that moves so slowly. If she is unreasonable push for trial ASAP make your lawyer book the dates to move it a long, mediation pre trial trial date keep it moving can get stuck in that limbo of nothing happening for years.
/r/Divorce_Men05/07/24 08:47 PM
5

Yea never, I see no benefit doing that again, no matter how "perfect" she is I don't need someone nagging me every other day about nonsense. I once had to drill three different hole heights for peepholes because ex wants it lower then MIL comes.over and says that looks goofy and wants to move it. Insane
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 07:51 PM
3

Probably wont get an agreement that's one kid and not the other in court, maybe if your ex agreed to it in mediation but why would she. Unfortunately, picking a choice of what kid you want more then the other doesn't look good in court.
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 07:48 PM

Hopefully not her lifetime, you'll be paying in your grave lmao
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 07:41 PM

Why oh why do so many men fall for this, you can't be kicked out of your house reminds me of my stbx moving out then dead bolting two bedrooms and filling it with garbage and I opened them up and she told police I broke into a bedroom in my house and they laughed and laughed at her
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 07:40 PM
8

Man that's ridiculous she's living with someone new and has new life should be no spousal support. Ugh can't wait till this is over so tired of living through this divorce enough is enough already
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/24 07:54 PM
2

I made it clear early on that 50/50 was the hill I'm dying in judge gave me temp 50/50, and now after a year of doing 50/50 and her fighting in courts i have a trial date if she won't settle and do what's right then the judge will decide.
/r/Divorce_Men29/06/24 01:10 PM

She's going with her family she can't take our child to the park without mommy in tow, and yes I'm the controlling one ofcourse when I bought a house three blocks away from her family and went on vacation with them every summer. Such annoying people. Thank God I don't have to deal with them anymore.
/r/Divorce_Men29/06/24 01:56 AM

Wanna know a real narcissist, at our child's 30.month appointment and the stbx has to tell the DR 4 times she's a pre school teacher like that's some sort of achievement.

/r/Divorce_Men29/06/24 01:42 AM

Damn good stuff, able to crank out 50 pushups now

/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 11:00 PM

Washington state? You wouldn't have had trouble getting 50/50 parenting time but you know your situation better then us. Whatever works you can always try to get more later it's a lot harder but you can try.

The only reason ANYONE asks how you're doing is because they're doing awful, she has created a real mess of her life a lot of women do, and she's testing the waters to make herself feel better and or seeing if your branch is still viable

I'm hoping once it's settled I can restart my life whether the outcome of trial is good bad or indifferent I can truly start my new life with my daughter. I laugh with my parents and say what are we gonna talk about once this is over lol
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 02:45 AM

When I'm alone I have the time to watch a movie but it's like spend the night cleaning/working out or obsessing about divorce

Dude You have money and a good income it's gonna be a battle
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 01:54 AM
2

You can look up your states calculator, settings your own child support amount or a buy out is a bad move because she can take you right back and start it up, ailmony you can do that
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 01:00 AM
2

Such a short term marriage I wouldn't offer anything like that, just pay whatever the state says is child support and sell house and split it
/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 12:51 AM
1

You gotta die on that hill and take it to trial, max out your cards. Don't give in make it clear you will light 100 dollar bills on fire to get there.
/r/Divorce_Men24/06/24 07:23 PM
2

If she won't buy you out it will get sold, and split evenly. Unless you use the equity to offset alimony etc
/r/Divorce_Men24/06/24 02:22 AM

If you add up our wedding and rings and honeymoon, it's still. 1/3 of what the divorce has costed insane

You have 8 kids?!? Holy hell
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 11:33 AM

Why do men always fall for this never ever ever under no circumstance let your spouse leave with your children she can leave with a patenting schedule at least agreed upon in text preferably in the court or between your lawyers.
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 11:15 AM
1

Man that's a rough one I'd stop doing any side job work ASAP
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 03:12 AM
2

You're offering too much imo, keep house equity AND pay alimony, no dice let the lawyers deal with it and just ignore her
/r/Divorce_Men13/06/24 11:35 PM
17

LET HER LEAVE ABSOLUTELY Let her get all butterflies and gitty with her new love, and get those custody papers signed dated you need to work fast with this on before she realizes it's a mess.
/r/Divorce_Men13/06/24 10:36 PM

What's REALLY annoying about sex when married was shed always refuse refuse refuse then once a month id convince her to do it then for hours afterwards she'd say how good she feels and how she really needed that. It's like well yes no shit
/r/Divorce_Men09/06/24 11:32 PM
3

Sounds like my marriage no more sex once the baby was born and her excuse was she was afraid of getting pregnant despite birth control AND a condom
/r/Divorce_Men09/06/24 11:28 PM

I'm glad she felt that way I was so DONE, aside from the actual divorce process and expense and stress from that, my life is 1000 times better, I'm so glad she filed, I was so miserable with her. Nothing was ever good enough, once she got something she'd immediately move on to the next thing almost the same day nag me for weeks about some sort of nonsense idea her mom gave her then I'd finally do it and almost instantly on to the next thing. She'd leave the house with a sticky note of lists of t…

I think that's what they all think, they don't realize they will have even less control than they did when they were married. I'll never forget the night she told me she filed she expected me to hit my knees and beg and I was standing on a ladder putting in a fan in my daugh…

Her lawyers job is to beat you down to the point you'll take a shit offer, you said you settled custody already you accepted the 60/40? So the trial is financial? I would take her to trial and watch her settle on the steps
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/24 10:31 PM

If my checking has -50 in it I'd still get a lawyer beg borrow and steal to get a halfway decent lawyer at best

/r/Divorce_Men27/04/24 08:10 PM

Don't take anything personally, lawyers job is to extract as much from you wallet as possible whether that's to her client or to the lawyers and racket system that is family court.

/r/Divorce_Men22/04/24 12:09 PM

Mine hasn't yet but she has in mediation and laughed at her zero evidence never touched her, tried to claim in mediation I don't get legal or any physical custody because I was verbally abusive. Again laughed at her. She will prob bring it up in trial if we have one would be my guess.
/r/Divorce_Men22/04/24 12:09 PM

When you say primarily in one residence do you mean like automatically if you're a man and she's not a axe murderer that judge is gonna rule 80/20 or 70/30 etc. We were given a GAL but the guy is big on joint custody and basically spent the whole time in my interview talking about how emotional mom is and you need to just give her something so she can claim victory ie 55-45 or 60-40 her favor but my attorney says since we've been doing 50/50 living separately for almost a year now while divorce …

Appraised value on property - remaining balance on mortgage divided by 2 is what she would owe you, at this rates I doubt it, mine was saying the same thing I even offered her a great deal give me 5k and keep the 50k equity to sign equal parenting plan and let's do this fast and cheap ofcourse she wanted to fight, she ended up not even being able to afford a house now living with her parents but we both got 20k each which is going to lawyers

Were Working with a GAL now all a gal is going to do is cash checks then push and push for an agreement until one of you caves, 2 hour rofr is quite silly, but another lawyer whose gonna cost 10k is even sillier, id give it to her to get it signed, that ROFR stuff is hard to prove she gonna take you back to court because you had a sitter watch the kids for 3 hours that's not gonna happen.

/r/Divorce_Men04/03/24 12:43 AM

I was a loser our whole marriage and relationship, her family put me down constantly, once she filed her lawyer made me sound like a millionaire, think I'll frame that when it's all done

Multiple attorneys advised against this arrangement, even if you have a signed parenting plan where it's 50/50 everything, you're still gonna get stuck paying for this, my ex wanted use to do this and keep the house I keep paying half the bills and mortgage and I rent an apartment we share nonsense I told her I'm not leaving then I invited my family over every night within a month she left
/r/Divorce_Men24/02/24 04:30 PM
1

It cements that the house needs to stay which means she's gonna get it and that more bargaining power to EOW schedule for you, get it sold and then you're on level playing ground, if you're willing to leave for x amount of days per week you're already agreeing you would leave, not hard for them to get you out under that arrangement
/r/Divorce_Men24/02/24 04:24 PM
1

Sell the house prob at the top of the market anyways, we bought ours two years ago and selling now in divorce made 40k after realtor and closing fees so I have no intention of buying her out

My ex wanted a clause in parenting plan where she doesn't have to take child to any extra curriculars if she doesn't want to, then she said she wants a clause in there where she didn't have to take our child on any vacations that she can just take the week and stay home instead of taking her places insanity
/r/Divorce_Men22/02/24 08:16 PM

Don't, do you have a lawyer?
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 01:50 AM

This isn't going to help but You're so so so so young, this will won't even be a blip on the radar in the grand scheme of your life, it's gonna suck for a little while but be HAPPY this happened now and not after 10 years and a few kids, hopefully you don't have much shared assets and you can get this divorce finalized as quickly and cheaply as possible. One of the main reasons I picked my attorney aside from being very experienced and very well known in the area is for 20 mins in our initial co…

I wouldn't agree to anything that isn't 50/50 decision making, and don't fall for that she's the tie breaker because that's essentially final decision making power. A lot of people talk about 50/50 parenting time but decision making is a bigger hill to die on imo especially if your wife is a control freak she'll do whatever she wants and send you the bill. One that's overlooked a lot is extracurricular. And make it that's your child can only be in two activities per season and whatever else she …

Why not just plan it and take him instead of asking lol
/r/Divorce_Men19/02/24 01:14 PM

/r/Divorce_Men19/02/24 12:18 PM

She can want anything she wants, she's not gonna get it. It's all posturing let the lawyers deal with it.

Man thank God I got out after two years
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/24 03:50 AM

My lawyer was like this knew I had no money lol, BUT she has money and her lawyer knows it, I haven't even spent my initial retainer from 9 months ago and her lawyer loves filing shit, in our custody mediation she was all worked up because she has spent a "shitload" of money in this divorce lol
/r/Divorce_Men12/02/24 02:58 AM
3

Was in mediation with my crazy stbx, " see he's nice now but he was so bad to me this always happens everyone thinks he's nice but he's really evil, now you think I'm the crazy one" everyone thinks you're crazy one because you are. Lol
/r/Divorce_Men11/02/24 08:10 PM

What parenting time schedule are you doing?
/r/Divorce_Men11/02/24 06:42 PM

Depends on the state and I come levels, my state is if it's near 50/50 and similar incomes no CS
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/24 09:51 PM
5

Does she get along with your mom? If not move your mom in and watch her run
/r/Divorce_Men05/02/24 01:54 AM
7

You don't have any kids and you're worried about her? Who cares not your monkey not your circus, life is short man leave already
/r/Divorce_Men05/02/24 01:11 AM
1

Idk prob would take awhile to spend that kind of money, but wouldn't rather have half then nothing if you're gonna blow it
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 11:23 PM
3

Hell yes MIL is a nutcase, months leading up to the divorce that bitch would come over and call my stbx Ms ******** instead of Mrs would address cards to the house as Ms not Mrs, goofy ass woman
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 11:09 PM
4

Find a hobby man, get into grilling and cooking, women love a guy who can cook, take some cooking classes
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 11:05 PM
1

Got any hobbies?
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 11:03 PM
8

I would use this to your advantage tell her let's finish everything amicable and we can date and see what happens
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 10:58 PM
3

One redeeming thing for me is she thought she was gonna drop the bomb on me one night that she had filed and I jumped off a ladder I think as putting a fan in and said OMG thank God, let's be civil and move on with our lives then I went back on the ladder and was whistling. She was just standing there in shock, maybe I should have been more of a simp and she would be nicer right now lol
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 10:55 PM
2

No one cheated on my case either no abuse just stopped getting along, and she's still a nutcase.
/r/Divorce_Men04/02/24 10:53 PM

Whatever money you saved, and whatever money you contributed to retirement during the marriage is half hers and vice versa. No getting around that unless you trade equity for money but it's still money.

That's a nice looking meal, I'm making steak for one tonight too my man

Sadly this is very very rare
/r/Divorce_Men01/02/24 02:34 AM

My advice would be act very very quickly while she still feels bad about the affair, get something signed ASAP run to a lawyer and get basic settlement up written up
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 10:01 PM
1

You should probably talk to your attorney, but I assume domiciliary parent means residential parent which doesn't mean very much but it varies by state. She can't just do whatever she wants and stick you with the bill.
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 08:32 PM
1

No not if you don't agree with them, make sure to have that in decree, if she wants to sign them up for horseback riding at 10k that's her responsibility not yours
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 08:05 PM
4

I wouldn't worry about it, aside from child support and things like daycare not much she can stick with you
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/24 07:59 PM
3

Thank God mine moved out rather quickly
/r/Divorce_Men27/01/24 06:57 PM

/r/Divorce_Men27/01/24 06:56 PM

It's amazing how good some of these mediators are, ours is a GAL and mediator she picked up on my wife's shit almost immediately asked her over and over again why she doesn't want what's best for our child, I was stunned when my wife just stared blankly at her
/r/Divorce_Men27/01/24 03:33 PM
15

Very very very little, in fact she took so much of my energy and time
/r/Divorce_Men27/01/24 03:25 PM
6

I would say get papers signed ASAP, manipulate her while she's trying to manipulate you
/r/Divorce_Men26/01/24 04:20 PM

If she's agreeing to joint just take it not gonna get full custody
/r/Divorce_Men26/01/24 02:38 PM

Big red flags imo are relationships in her life, does she have friends who she has conflicts with, does she have conflicts at work, has she been fired from jobs as an adult. When she does have issues in her life does she use those moments to self reflect and be a better person or does she seek excuses and blame others. How does she treat strangers, does she constantly try to impress people, does she value your opinion? Can she make decisions on her own without input from her family? Does she con…

/r/Divorce_Men24/01/24 04:21 PM

Idk we switched to OFW and I thought that would be better, she's a nutcase on that too, threats, demands crazy stories, perfect example I took off Friday to watch our daughter because she was sick, after 7:30am it's her day Friday and her weekend, she's responsible for picking up my daughter's belongings from daycare for the weekend, she didn't and forgot so she's harassing me Sunday claiming I needed to bring them home because of a snow day, idk the fuck she's talking about snow day was on Tues…
/r/Divorce_Men22/01/24 12:57 PM

You think she cares lol, the other day she took my daughter backpack and replaced it with some old backpack and then said she'd give me the backpack I got my daughter back if I gave her something she left in the marital home when she moved out. She's arrogant asf on that app and my attorney says we can do something about it but is it worth the money no just ignore her
/r/Divorce_Men21/01/24 11:15 PM

Idk but this app didn't help any she texts me crazy stuff all the time

I blame myself with this, I was this little worm, who let her control me and always always get her way, every fight or argument I was running back apologizing even when she was clearly wrong, I lost a few close relatives and it finally sank in one day holy shit someday I'm gonna be dead and this is it, then I woke up and started challenging her and refused to bend over anymore once this happened her normal fights went chaotic that exact moment she felt that she lost her power and control, her be…

Right exactly, It came to a point where I never shared anything with her anymore because everything was her time to shine with advice and opinions, my favorite was her constant work opinions and advice meanwhile she was fired three times in three years leading up to the divorce
/r/Divorce_Men16/01/24 12:54 AM

Honestly, I would have put up with 99% of the bullshit if she was just nice to me and pretended to give a shit

It's like inception lol

Get that locked down asap and you're good to go
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 04:15 PM

Your kids will be fine, and so will you. You make good money and so does she which means alimony and asset distribution won't be too bad, fight for your kids, your marriage is over, and stop idolizing her. Spend as much time with your kids as humanly possible from now on and aim for 50/50, plenty of opportunities coming your way with women I'm sure
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 04:00 PM
7

Wait shes married to you, in a relationship with him and cheating on him too? Jesus she sounds like an absolute garbage can
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 03:28 PM

/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 01:26 AM

Haha mine has just turned into a mess of a person and tried to pull scams now tried getting food stamps and she makes just south of 100k
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 01:25 AM

Big sign is the sex thing, she's prob got s boyfriend would be my guess, id let her get deep involved in this new career and let her get lost in the new stress then craft a narrative then file
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/24 03:26 AM
23

If divorce is finalized who cares block her ignore her move on from her toxicity
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/24 02:14 AM

60/40 in your favor or hers? If its hers I wouldn't set any precedent where she's getting more parenting time
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/24 02:11 AM

DO NOT LEAVE
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/24 01:20 AM

Lol 6 months of mine doing shit to get me worked up and never react and she STILL keeps trying, she took a picture of a 5 dollar wooden sign in garbage and sent message on OFW telling me I can't throw out marital property lol
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/24 01:19 AM
3

Classic lol
/r/Divorce_Men08/01/24 12:37 AM

Wow aside from the disability thing this sounds like my life, she filed eventually and now fighting in court for 50/50 because she wants 70% despite the fact I was a stay at home dad

So we got a sample parental allocation agreement from the mediator, and it's odd because the parenting time is awful but the guy has joint decision making across the board. It was basically like they took somebody's real agreement then just removed the names. My question is aside from my stbx being a controlling narcissist, why would she value decision making power over time with our child, because I almost had her down the time I wanted, she just wanted more decision making control. In my mind …

Is everything final and she's doing this? Or are you still in process of divorcing?
/r/Divorce_Men04/01/24 11:12 AM

Sorry for the resurrection, but in mediation my ex is doing exactly this she's trying to bargain more parenting time for me if I give up decision making and give her more control etc
/r/Divorce_Men04/01/24 04:33 AM
1

Stay strong, sounds like my custody mediation. Wast of $1000 thankfully she has to pay for half so burnt her money too
/r/Divorce_Men04/01/24 03:09 AM
1

At this point with she's offering trial is the only outcome and being strong is the only thing I can do, I've never fought for anything in my life really, so I figure this will be my moment to do that. I will die on that hill.
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/24 07:05 PM
3

You see that's what's strange is we've been doing this equal 223 for like 6 months no issues were getting along, and lawyer haven't even discussed our child yet. She claims she agreed to it so she could leave the marital home. Idk I think your right she ain't gonna compromise she thinks she's "entitled" to this and she's in control and she's gonna give me what she wants to give me.
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/24 06:49 PM
2

Idk I'm convinced shes demon lol, she was so angry and maniac looking, she even said I could have every holiday every year as long as I give her 40-60, the mediator looked at her and said you'd give up every holiday. But the parenting time isn't even the biggest issue she's pushing to uproot my child and move her to near her job which is in a really crummy area and change schools. Which will drastically lower her living standard
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/24 06:14 PM
2

Did you get a GAL yet?
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/24 02:44 PM
4

We haven't gotten a GAL yet
/r/Divorce_Men03/01/24 11:29 AM

I wouldn't want it, basically have zero life.
/r/Divorce_Men24/12/23 01:20 AM

Sounds like my stbx, trying to scam food stamps currently and she makes 70k a year lol
/r/Divorce_Men24/12/23 01:17 AM
3

Your buy out amount is your half of the equity, the fees to sell are irrelevant, get a appraisal and then she'd owe you half of equity if he wants to keep it
/r/Divorce_Men08/12/23 01:43 AM
5

God bless ya, I'd run lol
/r/Divorce_Men07/12/23 02:46 AM
8

Who are these stupid guys getting involved with a woman fresh out of divorce and two kids, why on earth would you insert yourself into that dumpster fire
/r/Divorce_Men07/12/23 01:49 AM
2

My crazy stbx has so much junk in my garage still supposed to come get it a month ago and never showed up
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/23 03:01 AM
2

Call a lawyer 99% of stuff in divorce petition that they ask for they ain't getting lol, majority of these attorneys who file divorce petitions have a form that they change the names on it and file it, like mine said something like lifetime alimony and my stbx makes more then me and we were only married two years
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 09:01 PM
7

I'm curious about this too, my stbx was throwing this around saying she's gonna make me us put this in parenting plan mind you my child is 23 months old lol
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 08:58 PM
7

Exactly, was in a room for 20 mins at Dr office for first time being around my STBX since August and she just vomited so much stuff that makes her look awful it's ridiculous, I kept my mouth shut and focused on our daughter.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 05:03 PM
29

Ours never worked because she wanted the therapist to take her side, and she always took my side because my stbx is nuts, then she'd punish me for saying those "things" about her that were true lol
/r/Divorce_Men15/11/23 08:40 PM
4

I got passed over for. Promotion and I told my wife and she said I hope this humbles you...psychopath
