Moving on… (A rebound or a slam dunk…)I’m sorry you went through that… my therapist has been helping me. I would search for one that fits your criteria. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/10/25 11:32 PM
Bouncing back…Yeah I don’t do well with friends anymore, but it’s like you said, I have to push myself into uncomfortable things to get through this. Sometimes I wish I had a kid to give me some semblance of hope through all this because of how lonely it is. But I know as a whole this whole situation would be more of a nightmare. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/10/25 12:55 AM
Bouncing back…Virtual meet ups for codependent people could be up my alley. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/25 11:58 PM

Bouncing back…The tears come in waves…I appreciate you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/25 09:14 PM
Bouncing back…I was raised catholic but I did grow apart from the church over the years…might be helpful though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/25 09:12 PM
Getting back out there…Thank you 🙏🏽 | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/10/25 02:37 AM
Getting back out there…I am kind of in a similar situation. Been trying to get back into dating apps but I find myself still talking about the divorce whenever I feel any connection. Even before we got divorced I felt like we were struggling for at least half of our marriage. In a way, I feel like this may have been long overdue. All the same, it’s still painful. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/10/25 01:17 PM
Getting back out there…No you’re right. I’ve been in individual therapy for like a year now though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/10/25 12:21 AM
Getting back out there…Yeah I don’t see myself remarrying after all this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/10/25 12:21 AM
Getting back out there…Seriously. The loneliness is so hard sometimes. But I feel like I’ve lost touch with who I was a long time ago too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/10/25 12:20 AM
Going no contact…Thanks brother | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 01:34 PM
Going no contact…Yeah it’s like you said. I wonder if it was wrong to tell her that she can reach out to me if she ever needs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 01:33 PM
Going no contact…You’re right…do you think I should give it some time before getting back out there? | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 11:32 AM
Going no contact…It’s crazy how fast it all happened… a week earlier we made the decision to get divorced, a week later the papers are signed and she’s moved into her new apartment. I’ve been trying to workout and see my therapist weekly. Don’t really have a support system so I have been contemplating a fling…but the thought of sleeping with someone else after 7 years is hard for me to wrap my head around for some reason… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 03:31 AM
Going no contact…I mean I wanted to try to remain friends but she wanted no contact and I decided to go with it. It hurts because it’s very lonely now without her or our dog. But I guess that is ultimately what I signed up for. Need to figure out how to move on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 03:13 AM
She’s gone…Yeah I can’t see that as a viable option going forward. Maybe with a pre-nup, but even then it’s very iffy… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/10/25 07:41 PM
She’s gone…I won’t lie, I did consider getting out there to try and find a relationship as a distraction. But I can’t see that ending well, regardless of the circumstances. At least right now. But like you said, my main focus right now is to better myself and find ways to keep my mind off what has happened. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/25 06:28 PM
She’s gone…I was half expecting a self help video of sorts but…that did help deliver the message too. 👍🏾 | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/25 05:23 PM
She’s gone…Do you think meeting in person is the way to go? And do you think it’s possible for a second marriage to be successful after the first one failed miserably? Because I’ve heard that after the first marriage fails any subsequent marriages have a higher chance of failing… Granted, statistics aren’t always everything I suppose. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/25 03:08 PM
She’s gone…That’s how I met her in the first place (dating app)… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/10/25 12:49 PM
She’s gone…I’m sorry man that sounds awful. I’m glad you are moving forward though. I can relate with the dog part too…we got her as a puppy in February and now she’s gone with my ex-wife too. That part really hurts… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/10/25 10:32 PM
My wife and I decided on divorce yesterday…We grew apart | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/10/25 01:15 PM

My wife and I decided on divorce yesterday…What do you mean when you say fun? I’m very introverted. Been trying to break that with the gym. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/25 12:58 PM
My wife and I decided on divorce yesterday…I’ve been on antidepressants for a few months now too. And I started medication this week for my adhd. Ironic that I finally worked up the nerve to have this talk on day two… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/25 01:53 AM
My wife and I decided on divorce yesterday…How are you doing now? | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/25 01:14 AM
Wanting to divorce when there’s no infidelity…I’m hoping it’s not like that in my state. 😔 but it is what it is I suppose. It’ll hurt regardless. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 04:51 PM
Wanting to divorce when there’s no infidelity…I’m glad things are getting better for you. Gives me hope that I might get to the other side of this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 04:22 PM
Wanting to divorce when there’s no infidelity…That seems so extreme … | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 04:19 PM
Wanting to divorce when there’s no infidelity…How long does it take? And can you bring the papers to your spouse or do you gotta go to a courthouse? | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 02:57 PM
Wanting to divorce when there’s no infidelity…What was your story? If you are comfortable sharing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 02:46 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…Yeah I’m hoping. Marriage really is a damn gamble. I wish I had known more about how badly this could all go prior to making such a big move. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/25 03:01 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…I wonder how it work in my case. Because I use to make significantly more than her for a time. But now she makes a little more than me due to a career change on my part. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/25 02:25 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…So I’m fucked either way | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 09:16 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…You’re right. It just sucks. I feel like I can’t act and it’s killing me.. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 09:16 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…Can the process play out where we decide ourselves who gets what? | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 08:35 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…Is the reverse true? | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 06:05 PM

Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…Thank you for the guidance. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 05:07 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…I’ve considered just discussing it with her. I just feel like some legal protection would be safer in this instance since it’s such a massive purchase. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 03:03 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…Would you say there is a specific type of lawyer I would need to talk to about this? And does it cost money just to hash out things like this? I’m assuming yes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 02:58 PM
Might be getting divorced, but I want to buy a home…I’ll be careful. Likely I’ll have to wait. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 02:56 PM

Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…Was your ex wife super religious? That would explain equating porn to cheating, seems like a recurring theme amongst overly religious people. I miss the wild times honestly. But I do want substance that will actually go somewhere. But u don’t have that and I don’t feel like I can create it with how things are going. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 03:11 AM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…I struggled with weed for a long time too. Then alcohol because I had a rude awakening from my family. And then finally a weed relapse when marriage pushed me over the edge after 8 years of being clean that basically cost me everything. And yet I still couldn’t divorce because it scares me shitless. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/25 02:39 AM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…What was the reason for your divorce? | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/08/25 09:47 AM
Online DatingWhat is the rate of divorce nowadays anyways? I know it was at 50 percent like 10 years ago. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/25 04:24 PM
Online DatingHmm so you don’t really subscribe to the notion of “forever” as it pertains to relationships/marriage? | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/25 03:50 PM
Online DatingYeah it does feel like social media can lead to a lot of negative stuff or sex related stuff. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/25 02:16 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…I’m sorry to hear that. It’s always a gamble like you said | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/25 01:06 AM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…They really shouldn’t have. But not everyone has children for the right reasons, nor should everyone be parents for that matter. I hate to say it, but I feel like I might fall into that category myself. Even though I do feel down at times that I don’t have a child. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/08/25 12:03 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…Very weak convictions on her part. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 09:46 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…No she’s not overly religious either, but believes in god. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 07:02 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…Yeah it does feel that way. I’m likely heading into a divorce with my wife in the future, but I do wonder if we had embraced religion more that maybe this could have been prevented? But I also struggle with embracing religion as my perceptions of it are so negative based on how the extremes of how my parent used it to guilt and shame me my whole life has shattered my psyche… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 06:22 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…No. My own parents stayed married due to religion and took out all their issues on me on my sibling. Now they are living pretty good while we are dealing with the aftermath of all their crap and issues. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 06:20 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…I feel like religion is very manipulative at times. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 03:11 PM
Religious vs. Non-Religious Marriages and their Longevity…That was what I was wondering about too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 03:10 PM
What ruined your marriage? What do you think the odds are of picking the “right person”? Do you think soul mates is a real concept? | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/08/25 11:25 PM
How do you break Co-dependency…?Thanks | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/08/25 02:33 AM
What ruined your marriage? You really hit the nail on the head…it does feel like a slow death. I am trying to overcome a self loathing I developed for myself over the years. It’s not healthy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/08/25 02:57 AM
What ruined your marriage?Like therapists that post information on YouTube that can be freely accessed? That sounds handy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 06:48 PM
What ruined your marriage?Fingers crossed my friend. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I acknowledge we moved into this fast and I didn’t plan well and that I am a difficult person for her to talk to due to our shared traumas from our upbringing, but I can’t find it in me to throw in the towel either because being alone is still a terrifying thought. I don’t know how to restart after all this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 05:55 PM
What ruined your marriage? We’ve been going for a few weeks. I feel like I engage more than she does honestly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 05:48 PM
What ruined your marriage? No kids in the picture. Or a good support system outside my therapy. Probably what makes this all so hard… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 04:14 PM
What ruined your marriage?Sometimes that’s more valuable in the long run. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 02:56 PM
What ruined your marriage?Mine did say that I am also a victim of toxic male masculinity. Because of the things I want and how I am so obsessed with how things look. It is very tied with how I was brought up, but it is a recurring problem that I have been trying to deal with. Primarily that she won’t workout and I’m struggling with attraction. I try talking to her about it and she shuts down and basically tells me I need to suck it up buttercup and accept her for who she is. It wouldn’t bother me so much if it weren’t fo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 02:01 PM
What ruined your marriage?Was that a difficult religion? | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:54 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m sorry. That sucks. I have been thinking about this topic quite a bit recently. Especially given the way the country has been changing in regard to women’s empowerment and things of that nature. I feel like back in the day, it was typically expected for men to be the provider while women just stay home and take care of the children and be a housewife. Not really the case anymore in the modern day, not just because of the women’s empowerment movement, but because life is just too damn expensiv… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:28 PM

What ruined your marriage?Do you think there’s a way for me to know definitively that leaving is what I need to do? I have been dragging my feet for some time, but it has been at the back of my mind for some time. I’m just paralyzed by fear and doubt. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 12:39 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m in individual therapy currently. Trying to work on these things. I appreciate you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 12:19 PM
What ruined your marriage? She doesn’t want to do anymore individual counseling. Did it for a few months last year. Felt she got all she could out of it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 11:47 AM
What ruined your marriage?Like a lesbian relationship? | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 11:45 AM
What ruined your marriage?I get that to some degree myself. Work stress does get me at times too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 11:29 AM
What ruined your marriage? This one hits home. I do feel like I settled. But I thought I could make it work.. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 11:29 AM
What ruined your marriage?I’m so sorry…I understand what some of that is like myself. Eating too much, drinking too much, weed. I’ve struggled with all of these. Finally trying to get my head on straight with antidepressants. It’s helping with my addictive tendencies but I’m still depressed. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 03:33 AM
What ruined your marriage? How did she blow it up? I really do want kids but I have doubts that she has any confidence at all in that idea with how tough things have been between us. We are in marriage counseling currently and I’ve been doing individual counseling for a few months now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 02:04 AM
What ruined your marriage?I’m so sorry. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:45 AM
What ruined your marriage?I’m sorry. That sounds awful. Like she was intentionally dragging you down with no remorse… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:23 AM
What ruined your marriage? She won’t work out with me. I’ve tried. She refuses. Because she doesn’t feel like she can keep up with me, nor does she have any desire to “push herself”. It’s so aggravating. And I think about other women a lot. But I can’t cheat. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. But I’m also deeply unhappy and unfulfilled. There is just no winning. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:22 AM
What ruined your marriage?Sex is getting me too. But it’s not necessarily her fault. I’m just struggling with attraction as she doesn’t work out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:06 AM
What ruined your marriage? What all did she lie about? | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 01:05 AM

What ruined your marriage?I’m so sorry. I don’t even have kids yet. It does hurt. But I can’t imagine having them used against me if I did have them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 10:26 PM
What ruined your marriage? Not all families are meant to blend. I know blending her with mine led to so many issues but also opened my eyes to my own screwed up relationship with them.. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 09:54 PM
What ruined your marriage?? | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 09:22 PM
What ruined your marriage? That’s why I’m afraid. I don’t feel any sort of optimism about the future after everything we have been through. But I am in individual counseling myself and we have done marriage counseling for a few weeks now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 09:22 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m sorry that sounds miserable. My wife also isn’t working out and it’s making sex difficult. And I abstain from porn or anything so it’s just brutal at times. That and the communication and lack of shared interests make things feel like a jail at times. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 07:44 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m sorry. 😢 | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 07:42 PM

What ruined your marriage?Damn I’m sorry. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 03:57 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m sorry that sounds devastating. You both invested so much into it. I get where you are coming from as I have spend quite a bit of money on my wife but don’t feel like I have anything to show for it, nor that she really appreciates it. We don’t have kids (probably for the best) and she sounds like she might be hesitant to have them. But I do want them someday, we aren’t getting younger (I’m 35) and it has been getting to me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 03:56 PM
What ruined your marriage?I’m glad you were able to get through it. I proposed during Covid myself. But looking back, I wasn’t in the best state of mind between being incredibly out of shape and drinking too much. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 03:51 PM
What ruined your marriage?Wow I’m so sorry you had to endure all that… Sometimes we have to endure these trials to find that light at the end of the tunnel. At least I like to think so. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 03:50 PM
| 2 | What ruined your marriage? You’re right. I just need to work up the nerve. It’s just scary because I don’t have much of a support system. I get that to a degree. We don’t argue well. Communication is poor. She shuts down and then I shut down because the whole situation is so aggravating. I’m sorry you went through that. I sadly get this part too.
