Ghosts of the Osfront is one of his best and it is about the eastern front in world war II where Germany invaded Russia. It is by far the biggest part of the war but in the west we don't learn much about it

Over the past 6 months I have listened to the entire hardcore history series, and 10 hour books on ghengis khan, tamerlane, and the city of Alexandria. I had never studied history before even in school and now it fascinates me how great non fiction is. The best part? It was all in my car on my commute to and from work. It's great to learn something and it really takes your mind off work if you are listening to a good story

I love the specialisation that the Internet and reddit in particular enables. It is difficult to be free thinking when your entire social circle disagrees with you, but you can join a subreddit such as this and find other individuals to develop ideas further with

Good advice but in my experience it is highly unlikely you will pull yourself out of depression through logical thought. Yes some understanding is initially important but a structured therapy is highly beneficial. Here is a CBT resource http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/infopax.cfm?Info_ID=37 That you can work through one module per week. CBT has empirical evidence to support its effectiveness for depression and other mental illnesses. If you check the sidebar you will find variations fo…

Histamine intolerance? What does that mean? An excessive histamine reaction ie urticaria/hives? What would cause that? You can't really be intolerant to natural substances in the body.

I'm a noob when it comes to green tea. What is the best? My parents have a bunch of different ones like peppermint, apple, chai etc. Is there a certain plants leaves that are considered standard green tea?

That's very useful thanks. Your post was the first time I have ever heard of sous vide. And do you cook from frozen?

That's like saying doing heroin is ok because we have heroin receptors

Just let me get this straight because at the moment I buy my meat for cheap when it is on special then I cut it into single portion sizes, cling wrap it, then freeze it. The worst part is cooking because it takes ages standing near a hot pan splashing grease all over the counter, or using an oven which takes a lot of time and seems inefficient electricity-wise. So with using sous vide you cut the meat into portions, vacuum seal it, then freeze it. When you want a meal you just toss the frozen an…

My ex told me that her friend who was a horse rider had a lot of trouble having sex for the first few months because she was so tight. They basically do kegels all day

They are jelous of your increased looks and are trying to shame you to bring you down to their lower level. No you can't convince them otherwise. Just keep lifting brah

For me getting in shape was the single biggest factor in raising my SMV. It increases your confidence and improves so many aspects of your life. Its funny how even if your personality stays the same, being athletic increases your attention from girls so much. My advice is to stick to a clean diet and continue exercising regularly and aim to be in shape in the long term. Because of your busy schedule if you can achieve this and nothing else then you will be well on your way. Of course continue ta…

It's an anecdote hat provides further evidence to your experience and message that if you don't escalate you will get rejected.

I've seen this before. An elderly Indian man who speaks no english was admitted to the psychiatric ward with severe depression with psychomotor retardation. Turns out his wife and two middle aged female children were keeping him at home and using him for his pension money. Parasites

Recently I went out for two dates with a girl. On he second we went back to hers. I was pretty sure we were both down to be fwbs for the forseable future. Escalated to the point of heavy touching and kissing. She made a subtle hint she wanted me to fuck her. I held off because in my mind I "didn't want to ruin it" and if I showed chivalry it would increase my chances of it being more of a long term thing rather than a ONS. She kissed me passionately goodbye at the door. Got a text a few days lat…

It's not just the minorities. Men everywhere in the world die from suicide at a 4-9x higher rate than their female counterparts depending on which country you are in. The stats are absolutely abysmal and yet i haven't heard of any social programs that address this. In fact, whenever I hear the statistic it is ALWAYS followed by "oh but women are more likely to ATTEMPT suicide than men". Yeah no shit she does it for attention and so very rarely uses lethal means so she can try it again the next m…

They need to stop the coddling, not try to teach him how to live well while still enabling poor decisions. Stop giving him money, kick his ass to the curb and make him get a job and his own place. The way a man will learn is by taking control of his actions

Is that true? That more men in western society are raped than women due to the high number of rapes in male populated prisons?

He's mad though. It sounds like he is saying that to help cover up his anger and jelousy towards her instead of saying that and moving on to other girls. The difference is in his frame

Similar happened to me. Medical student gf moved in less than a month into the relationship. Lived off me for 6 months then as soon as she was transferring to another town she left me and moved in with someone else. Never again

Add onto the fact that you are talking with a lot of people to the fact that girls you talked with previously will get jelous and you are gold

I like how even though you knew one of the girls from previous, most of your pre-selection was attained over the course of the same night. That is why you don't just talk to one girl, you build attraction with multiple girls until the one you want has a high enough buying temperature. Good job

That's the idea. By depriving your brain of the stimuli that reinforce learned unnatural neural pathways (fetishism and porn in general) and peruse actual real women then you re-learn to become aroused primarily by them again

First realise that it is an addiction. One of the strongest in my opinion because mating is one of the strongest drives in humans and a million naked women are just a click away.

It's funny because a senior male doctor would usually take that as an opportunity to teach. Not get all smug about it. The thing is though when they make the sexist jokes and the off hand comments is that they are shoehorned into the situation

As a medical student working on the obs/gynaecological ward was one of the worst times of my life. It is amazing to see how horrible, rude and self-centred women can be. Whether is was making sexist jokes against men to their complete cold-hearted admonishing if you show even a slight lack of understanding of an illness. They get off on it. And they get away with it

+1 for the cooking thing. Seriously we normally require food three times per day and if you miss a proper meal or two you really start noticing changes in mood and energy. Someone who can't satisfy their most basic instinct on their own probably has deficits in other areas too

Current discussion is not about porn affecting testosterone. In fact a study showed no effect on testosterone levels with abstinence from porn except a temporary spike on day 7. The theories all involve dopamine signalling pathway disruption aka complex neurotransmitter inbalances that result in ED along with lethary, anxiety, depression, insomnia and concentration difficulties

There is a large community on reddit caled pornfree where you will be able to find many men who swear that stopping watching porn cures their ED. Of course it is all anecdotal, and ED has other causes too but it's worth a try

But he wasn't a mass murderer in the ilk of a run off the mill serial killer that just does it for kicks. These people are at the top of the game in terms of money, power and social intelligence. That's why they make history.

Thanks for sharing this. I envy how he knows exactly what he is doing and will run circles around people while never bending his values or beliefs for a second no matter who he is talking to
