To be fair Mulan had no focus on romance (at least in the first movie). As an Asian American whose grandparents were definitely the "did they give me daughters when I asked for sons?" type, Mulan was a pretty badass movie as a kid and she was definitely a role model. That part of the movie was definitely more commentary on Asian culture favoring boys as a whole than them purposefully throwing scrote behavior into the movie, unfortunately. ETA: better wording would be: it's still scrote behavior …

Yeah everything women are better at gets devalued and mocked. You can even start to see it happen with education since more women are going to college (and succeeding) than men!

As someone who has kind of poor hearing, can confirm it works well for deterring men. It's kind of like when someone makes an off joke and you pretend like you don't hear it the first time. They need a looot of audacity to repeat themselves.

Quickly next men who ask for your help. The men you want who have impressive cooking skills and are generous won't feel the need to ask for your help. Men who can cook very well but insist on your help they are probably 50/50 type men who don't feel a need to impress. Generous chefs may be a bit rare, but they'll feel even rarer if you waste your time on men who ain't it. Any man asking for your labor early on in the relationship is a red flag. He should be pulling out all the stops early on. Al…

The other thing is there some evidence that porn addiction can contribute to hair loss. It's not always genetics! Also shit diet, poor lifestyle choices, bad hygeine, etc can all cause hair loss. There's DEFINITELY way more young balding men than there was before.

Remember when fairytales were savage as hell and typically included brutal deaths and awful endings and served as a warning for children? We need it for warning women and girls about men starting from childhood. Getting married, pregnant from, or even just being nearby the wrong man can literally mean death just as brutal as in any of the oldest stories.

Same. Mine would be: "Do you make every woman pretend your jokes are funny?" or "You've never made a woman laugh, have you?"

Holy shit. I guess that's just another reason to never take them back. 99.99% of men will never change and the ones that "do change" might just be like Ted Bundy. Fucking freaks. 😬

LOL I know right? It's so stupid they're trying to call it post-partum depression with men. Literally nothing has changed with their bodies. It's not biological or a condition from having a baby! Society downplaying the prevalent narcissism in men once again. This shit shouldn't be normalized.

This is great info. Just to add on here for other ladies reading, imo we should avoid posting any pictures of "outside" anyways because people can localize your location from small details in the photo. Eg, there's a Wendy's next to a shell? That narrows it down. Pair that with vague information you might share accidentally (saying you live in the south/north/east coast) and people can get what neighborhood you might be in.

But her point was she didn't make the mess, so whoever made the mess has a responsibility to clean it. Maybe you're confusing with one of the other more questionable comments. I don't see a problem with "your mess your responsibility", it is applicable outside of the house as well. You don't want your son to grow up and be that guy at the workplace who assumes his female colleagues will clean up after his nasty ass, for example.

There's also a type of man who just goes against everything his partner wants/does/says because he's that much a of dick and there's no deeper meaning besides buried hatred for her/underlying misogyny. It's definitely often paired with, as you mentioned, controlling tendencies.

They sure do looooove to project onto women. Men are the shallow, gold-digging, emotional, manipulative, and coddled ones.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/01/22 08:36 AM

Absolutely this. When you're raised to shrink yourself and give-give-give to others, the appalling lack of empathy and utter selfishness of scrotes can be impossible to comprehend. And so we project onto them, inserting humanity where oftentimes there is nothing but an empty pornsick shell.

Kind of tired of studies like this blaming it all on "women have support systems, men don't, pooor men!" I bet at least 50% of the poor outcome is literally men not taking care of themselves if their partners won't do it for them. But it's probably too much MiSaNdREEEE to talk about that. Because a lot of women throw away their friendships and social life when they're stuck with a shitty, controlling man.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/01/22 03:00 AM

I think a majority of men have not thought about what women want even once. We're not people to them, just valuable objects to obtain. Thus, even though it's pathetically easy to understand the problem, they still don't due to lack of any empathy.

My theory on this is that approximately 2/3 men have basically a r*pist gene. It wires them to be "attracted" to vulnerability of all kinds and is why most men seem predatory or like vultures. This gene has no bounds, so any vulnerable and easy "prey" will be targeted whether it is underage children, elderly women, or even other weaker men when in prison. At the same time, most of these men are highly lazy so watching porn or bagging a girlfriend will keep the utter depravity beneath the surface…

Tbh it would probably be illegal to post mens' actual L's. The bar is so low for their normal behavior that for something to qualify as an L it's something legitimately awful and traumatizing to look at. 😬 But yeah that account is just a dumb excuse for posting misogyny most likely. 😑

He is putting them in an awkward situation, and your friends seem to think you're their best hope for a solution. Tell them you aren't speaking to him anymore so you aren't their best bet for a solution. Remind them that they don't have to deal with his emotional outbursts either. Advise them to just tell him to get therapy or something, and if not everyone should just avoid the guy lol.

You're a good gift giver, so look for an appropriately inexpensive gift for him. I find that quirky inexpensive "meme" gifts work well. Great gifts don't have to be expensive and they don't have to overstep where your relationship is at.

Honestly the key thing for me was never, ever pandering to men in even the most minute of ways. No needless politeness (ofc don't be rude unless he's being rude to you). They're used to this behavior from other men so they quickly adjust. So it's not even about what you are doing, it's about what you aren't. Once you've purged every last drop of male pandering out of your system, they seem to assume you're picky asf and a challenge to please. And they'd be right. 😎

Honestly, someone needs to go around doing a social experiment where they ask random men on the street if they would give them pics of their assholes for money. Wonder how they would react? I bet none of them would accept, even at pretty high amounts of money offered.

The concept of virginity and all the surrounding perceived values are stupid, but I guess it's maybe one of the few things keeping some women from getting sucked into libfem hookup & feel eMpOwErEd culture so there's that. Side note, why the fuck is it not considered sexual harassment when they ask you out? Our culture has "give him a chance" so embedded in it that it's apparently not sexual harassment as long as they only ask you once and never again after a "no". It not only benefits them in direct relations with women, but I believe it keeps them safer as well. By scapegoating women, they keep themselves safe from other men. Imagine if inc*ls went around killing attractive men instead of attractive women when they get mad about not getting laid.

Alsoooo kinda sounds like PROJECTION. They're scared we're going to become like them -- reserve respect & care only for women and treat men as a means to an end (I guess sperm donor in our case). Because they love and respect each other while disrespecting, dehumanizing, and scapegoating women.

You hit the nail right on the head. This is why I don't like this video & why the comments are full of people who think he was serious at first. It's honestly not that uncommon and very believable that he would be that sexist, when his point is it's ridiculous to be that sexist.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/04/21 07:23 AM

All the reasons why it's unfair aside, if he really likes you he will not go for 50/50, no asking or explaining needed. And why would any of us go for a relationship that is "50/50", fair or not, when it usually means he really doesn't like you that much?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/04/21 03:43 AM
25

Exactly!! Honestly I don't get how libfems can acknowledge abusive relationships are bad but not acknowledge how bad BDSM is. BDSM is just about as "consensual" as an abusive relationship is. At the time, the abused may not see or feel just how harmful it is. Even if they think it's "ok" at the time doesn't mean it's actually ok.

I like this. Funny how removing some of the more "human" elements might actually help if you're prone to people pleasing. They always ask for more information and/or make wild mental gymnastics what-ifs (what if he's dEpReSsEd??) when it's a woman writing about a problem she has. But when it's a man writing, it's "oh yeah this woman is CLEARLY crazy and awful!!" until he accidentally reveals what HE did wrong (because he's so fucked up that he doesn't consider those actions are wrong, they are justified in his mind).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/04/21 08:53 PM

That's a really good point you've brought up. Calling it "love of their life" can be misleading and really hurt anyone with s any amount of pickme tendencies left. Men who do that don't love anyone! They're looking for the next best shiny and new trophy/appliance. Not love.

They literally fetishize blood from a torn hymen but think period blood is disgusting. They have all kinds of gross, violent, horrible kinks (poop, corpses, etc) but I've yet to hear of a single case of a man having a period "kink". That to me just really says how much society demonizes periods and encourages degeneracy out of men.

I see what you're saying. I just think if a platform came out that actually benefited women, women (by women I mean only the ones that would normally use dating apps) would probably start flocking to it. Men need us, so the ones who can manage to pass standards will join us and the ones who can't will cry into the void. While some women will be pickmes, nowadays there are fewer and fewer pickmes who deny the existence of rapists and predators so I do think enough women would migrate.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/04/21 02:55 PM

Real talk I think they blame women because they are scared of blaming each other. Like inc*ls are absolutely fucked in the head yet somehow none of them are violent towards "Chads" who they resent for being able to sleep with women. Their sub was up for ages and ages containing all sorts of threats to women. Took years for literally 1 threat to be made vs a man which got them banned. Then & only then did Reddit actually care about how dangerous they are.

The other component to their projection is that it's literally proven in studies that men tend to settle down when they're ostracized and side-eyed by whatever crowd they used to run with when single. Eg when they're finally that "creepy old guy" at the club. If what they said made any sense at all, we wouldn't be seeing young and naive pickmes marrying some older dude way too early in their lives.

Real talk it's because she's a couples therapist. She gets paid more the longer the couple tries to stay together. It's also not advised to go into couples therapy if you're in an abusive relationship. Honestly at this point I'm ready to start spreading the word that couples therapy is mostly useless. Binary system is fantastic for dumping the various flavors of LVM into the gutter. I like it because it tends to keep us safer on average, I agree with that part strongly and also prefer the binary way because of this. I have noticed, however, that because some men don't really fall into the LVM category, newbies often are overzealous in calling those men HVMs. Not sure what we can really do about that.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I've always seen the "fuck or not" scale as a way of negging almost. Or bragging. It's certainly not serious. They always talk about it in a way where they're like bragging to other men they can "afford" not to fuck uglier women. (Scrote logic...?) I was kind of hoping they somehow didn't let men in WHILE being too nice to them, but that's a lot of cognitive dissonance to ask a group of people to hold, lol. It would be kind of interesting if they managed another woman-only sub because I bet it would've become a gateway sub for FDS. LOL as if men don't have the binary "fuck or not" rating system. At least we're evaluating men as multi dimensional people (even though they fail), vs men only rating our bodies like pieces of meat. Pickmes & faux concerned scrotes, go fix the manosphere first and then come back with your complaints. We'll probably have the bandwidth to consider then. Omg you are totally right. In the past there was definitely a much higher rate of activities that would artificially age you pushed on women and considered "hot girl" behaviors. 🤯 Now it's not as pushed probably only because being youthful is so glorified that we're encouraged to avoid aging at all costs. 😔 Now the only acceptable aging behaviors are ones that allow scrotes a better chance at taking advantage of us (drinking, drugs)

A nice extension to that visual metaphor would be somehow showing that there's already systems in place to mitigate the older person's weaknesses in other scenarios. Because women very much have strengths that are simply undervalued because society was built around men.

Funny, I tried picking up this comic a few days ago. I stopped reading after the second chapter or something. Persephone was already getting straight up fetishised for being naive and sheltered. The art was also very very sexualizing and normally I have a high tolerance for that since I used to watch anime more when I was younger. Not sure if it was directly implied but I felt like in the beginning, Hades only didn't r*pe Persephone because she was pure (Madonna/whore complexing). There's an und…

Yes! Also the artwork is "woke" which might trip some people up. Usually art done in that style is kind of an easy visual shortcut to knowing the author is woke. Stories with this type of art on the whole tend to be kind of mild & wholesome-ish and tackle themes like being an outcast, various characters coming out as gay, not being conventionally attractive, etc. I really didn't see the Hollywood-worthy plot and gross age gap stuff coming. 🤮

Yes! To add on: I don't even think it's a win for us objectively. Attention from women is worth more to men than we tend to think. Also, how is it different than sugaring? And not to mention EVERY man you include in your life increases the risk something bad will happen to you. There's no way of telling which one is a complete psycho under the mask. There's no telling which ones will weirdly attach to you and then proceed to stalk & harass you for the next ten years.

It's awful. When I dated in high school, I upheld the boundary that I wouldn't have sex and overall I would say I gained valuable experience dating during an age where you weren't expected to necessarily have sex with your boyfriend. (Of course, you should never feel obligated to have sex with a guy you're seeing, but there WAS less societal pressure and pressure from the guy at that young age and time.) Romantic comedies and the romance genre in general actually humanizes men. Like they show men in an unrealistically good light. I think what sounds wrong about it is it's often worded like "she's giving her body to him" which is a misogynistic and objectifying point of view. However, the connotation that sex with women is highly valuable to men (a "gift") is accurate. It's just often conflated with "giving" your body. I get your point, but really what's going on here is that the word lady is the least of our problems. Like way down at the bottom. Nitpicking the word choice for "ladies" vs something more serious like btches, thts, and wh*res comes off as derailing and detracting from the overall message. Popping in to rant about #2. Culture is NOT the same thing as race! So sick and tired of people conflating the two. You can't choose your race, but you can definitely choose what cultural norms you partake in & MANY cultural "norms" (ass backwards "traditions") are oppressive/harmful to women.

Not sure if it would be available on your country, but there's a home security system called Simplisafe that is very flexible and works well for non-house spaces. You can actually buy a system and not have to pay a monitoring fee (the system will simply alarm loudly, but not actually contact law enforcement). Since you're in a student housing near a lot of people, I don't think you'd actually need the system to directly contact law enforcement, you'd just want the loud alarm to sound. That would…

Swear to god there are just hordes of men who, if they were born in a time period where they weren't coddled and they were expected to provide literally ANY value, they wouldn't be such creepy pedophilic coomers. Yep. The rarer alternative is rich POC who sadly start erasing their own features to look more white. But either way, there is a definite clear end goal: a cherry picked look that poor white people can't reach and most POC can't reach.

Big eyes, yes that's pretty universal. Big lips in the past - yes but only if they were big within white people standards. There's a reason why racist/offensive black caricature drawings and blackface featured very large lips. There was a point where it was considered too "ethnic" looking in the past.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/21 02:17 AM

Don't forget it's also pretty racist as well. Big lips and a large behind weren't "popular" until we had surgeries & procedures so that rich women who weren't naturally blessed with those could have them. All features have their own beauty but you have to be rich AND white to have precisely the features that are considered the most attractive nowadays. It all goes back to the holy trinity of beating down womens' emotions: smile more, stop nagging/b*tching, and stop being so overemotional. We are actively punished if we don't comply. Yep I suspect it's a common male """standard""" because they're all lying to each other about it, so they feel like they have to compete. The only guys who maybe aren't lying are either: 1) a creepy weirdo pick up artist who spends hundreds of hours trying to get laid and faces 100x the rejection of the average man to finally land the one pickme who would, 2) a predator who took advantage of an inebriated date

I agree with this one, especially if it hasn't been that long since you technically talked to him last. The body language signaling is important if he's trying to gossip and start shit. This is a great post! Remember that every culture has its common LVM traits as well as pros that, to the uninitiated, seem like "HVM traits". For example, cultures where men are especially expected to provide can seem like a breath of fresh air to women who are used to a 50/50 culture. Meanwhile, for women from demeaning and sexist cultures, faux feminist men can sometimes more easily woo them.

I'm in my early 20s and the women I see as the most aspiringly beautiful start at the very late 20s and go up from there (hard to tell what ages these women are because only <30 women seem to list their ages or mention it directly). The only reason why it makes sense and isn't insulting when you flip the genders is because "respect" from a man really just means love and the "respect" from a woman in the way that he's talking about means obedience/sacrifice. Any man who's developed a healthy sexuality really doesn't care about this type of stuff: body hair, stretch marks, natural skin redness/"imperfections", any accidental burping/farting/queefing/etc that may happen because you're fucking human, list goes on beyond my imagination because I couldn't even think of being pressed about some of these. Let's get something straight though, the male role of "protect and provide" is derived almost entirely from oppressing women. Who are they protecting from? Other men. Why are they providing? Women are blocked from the workforce for thousands of years to be house slaves instead. The typical relationship with an LVM reflects exactly this on a small scale. They have it sooo good at the start with their pickme gf. Yet they continually push boundaries and act worse and worse. The last 2 pages here are basically trying to erase the existence of HVM. "All men are this shitty, so here's your playbook to work around it!" From your info, he's definitely an LVM so it makes sense that he doesn't seem to believe anything but fellow LVM exist. Except not every dude will see you as a set of holes first, only LVM will, silly author. It sounds like his book might be a "how to keep an LVM like me" handbook.

It's not easy to see because society says women are the manipulative sex but: he was starving you of attention until you snap and act out. Then he acts like you are crazy and clingy. He punishes you with silent treatment so that you'll grovel and accept the bare fucking minimum and think everything is your fault for "being too clingy" or "well we're both equally bad", when the initial problem is he's not meeting your needs and he just doesn't want to address it. He's successfully distracted you …

And they also think women have an easy life because a man would just provide for her even if she "has no worth besides being female". Conveniently ignoring the fact that none o…

My point with the makeup was that makeup + focus on male gaze = the problem. I didn't mean that it isn't a problem right now, I meant that it could potentially exist without it being a problem in the future. Like makeup, by itself, is not inherently bad. If makeup existed without male sexuality attached to it, it would have no problems. Just like a lot of other "feminine" or "self care branded" things.

No, definitely not condescending! I like being able to hear other viewpoints, and I can definitely relate to just the sheer heaviness when you realize how stacked the world is against women. It can be exhausting when you can pick out every single thing happening around you on a global and personal level once you're aware of everything. I believe there may be exactly ONE exception to this, and that is men paying. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this piece of FDS doesn't fit into either liberal feminism or radical feminism. There's one scenario where this is actually a very valid strategy. Like how some ladies will have trouble leaving their cheating partner without them admitting to it, even if the signs are all there. Thinking a bit more on this also: even the mother-child relationship gets fucked by pickmeism/patriarchal ideas. Mothers often baby their sons and are hard asf on their daughters. Typology tends to appeal to nerdy snowflakes for males because they can feel special about their INTx type. Honestly I think the real reason why they're so appealing to people is that they give people a false sense of control. Unfortunately you can't do anything to change an LVM at the core. Don't underestimate determined doxxers. Mostly the scary part is how much background area is showing imo. You can start to narrow down where the photo was taken by the configuration of the buildings in the background if they can be identified, for example. For example, if the picture showed a Wendy's next to a Shell. Many places have a Wendy's and a Shell, but how many places have those next to each other? Just to give an example. You can narrow it down quickly from details like that. Also, any …

Yeah, it's basically a guide for pickmes to "do xyz" to come off as a HVW... And doesn't cover the reasons WHY HVW "do xyz" in the first place (because we don't need men)! It also kind of has a "do this because you'll finally be able to keep a man yay! Men like cold bitches!" vibes Basically, it can help deprogram pickmes action-wise and is a pretty solid book for that, but it doesn't really attack the core issue (wanting a man so badly you'll do anything - including act against pickme instincts…

It's not training, they should be trying to learn what you like. Women are pretty much always learning what their men like, so it needs to be reciprocal. And who cares whether it is a technically speaking a "need" or not. Our patriarchal society is going to define men's wants as needs and women's wants as optional. Prime example: sex. Also, who cares what is a need vs not because relationships themselves are not a need. The point is that they're extra and should bring happiness. Obviously you du…

Highly accurate. Part of their idealized dream girl image is literally inhuman characteristics like not having needs, always being happy & positive, etc. As you said, more an appliance than actual human. Once they have you, if they possess these delusional LVM expectations, they will realize you aren't as great as their delusions. What pickmes get wrong is that you cannot win this game with an LVM. You will never make someone with fucked expectations happy.

So essentially you're only looking for someone who isn't shit then? Why shouldn't we have expectations for our partners, whom we are presumably vetting as the person we want to spend the rest of our lives with? I wouldn't want to be with someone who is just "meh" besides him not being abusive. We absolutely should have some expectations. Most guys who watch anime into young adulthood end up watching cringy slice of life shows where the female characters are so poorly written that a child, dog, or alien could have done better writing. I'm convinced that older women only sometimes don't look as good because they've dealt with male bullshit longer. Ever notice how the more confident, scrote/stress free, and happy older women look absolutely radiant? Well it's not necessarily the word, but the scenarios where I see a lot of women using it causes it to be that way. The word totally works on FDS where you know everyone here is on the same team. But the way I see it being used outside of this sub, it's more like a dividing insult. Like for example, men can use simp as an insult BUT they will also be like "don't simp for her" but you rarely see "don't be a pickme for him". It's more like "🙄 pickme girls" etc. It's used in a way where the pickme …

Oh yeah, that comparison makes perfect sense actually thanks. While men don't often fully misuse the word simp, the term does get thrown around and watered down in similar ways. It's just kind of upsetting/disappointing to me seeing the way the word "pickme" is getting used by the rest of the world because in my mind the source of most pickme problems is being competitive towards other women instead of realizing men ain't shit. While the word "pickme" is supposed to stop "female simping", it see…

Anecdotally, women who seem to get drawn to overly aggressive+possessive types seem to often have experienced violence early in life. I think they get desensitized to someone being violent in general around them, and then that combo of aggressive/possessive makes them feel like "at least this man will defend me (even if he just sees me as his property) from other awful men". Kind of a devil you know vs the one you don't.

LOL @ "call her daddy" podcast getting called tf out. 🤣 Side note, what's with ppl outside of FDS calling non-pickme girls pickmes tho? I agree, but the dude's talking about "addictions" like you shouldn't just immediately run away from an addict of anything. Honestly, being nice to them is often just straight up risky/brings potential for pain. The knowledge that being nice to the wrong man can lead to having a stalker for years or worse makes it easy to not want to even interact with any of them. It's weird how he's waxing poetic about some guy he doesn't know. The 3rd section of text seems to be giving the dude too many chances to fail and hurt you. In the 1st one, he shouldn't be trying to make you laugh while you're crying unless that's something you want. It's a classic low empathy LVM move to try to ignore your sadness/anger by distracting you with funny lols (and he'll start to feel bad if you don't laugh at his joke so you better laugh!)

My favorite thing to do in situations like these is to not even reply to that first message and let it fester in his mind. MOST know exactly what they said was wrong. Now some are actually either oblivious enough or are conflict avoidant and they'll attempt to change topics the next time they message you, but if you continue to ignore they'll get the message. I'm gonna second this. Not all of them who have older sisters are this way, but the ones that are good seem to more often than not have older sisters. Honestly as an older guy myself you need to consider that he might be dEpReSsEd about being so old and therefore cannot control his bowels anymore. It's concerning that you would hold him to such unrealistic standards. My gf doesn't expect that from me. You BOTH need therapy, ASAP!!1!

The difference between this and online dating is you are allowing a third party to set your value, and they are going to set it according to "conventional taste" AKA "what men value" (because patriarchy) AKA undervaluing you as a person because what makes any of us special to a real HVM isn't going to be superficial traits that can be listed off. At least with OLD, you can not only list what you feel is important, but you can put exactly what YOU want/are looking for in your profile. Also what m…

LVM think anything that enhances appearance is "false advertising" or "fake" because they've never considered putting even a little effort into their own appearance. I find that guys who actually look put together/groomed appreciate the effort needed to look good way more because they know what it takes.

Low empathy is not reconcilable. You can't just grow more empathy. You should stop talking to him, but I guarantee that if you dug into why he wants to get back together, he actually wants the old relationship he had back before he "messed it up" which would include the problems you already indicated before. You're thinking he's grown, but he just wants to fix the superficial problem "she's mad at me because I went too far" so he can have everything back the way it was.

This is why anime is a huge ass red flag! (It's hard to even call the characters in anime "fictional women" because they are so infantilized, one dimensional, and really are almost always intended to be little girls personality wise no matter how "old" they are. They really barely register as "actual humans".) Unfortunately as someone who used to enjoy certain manga/anime by occasionally having the willpower to look past blatant misogyny and poorly written female characters, I feel anime overall…

After experiencing 2-3 relationships where I tried to do everything to no avail, it was pretty obvious that pandering to men accomplishes exactly nothing. I browsed rpwomen at the time because I thought it could work (society does a good job of convincing us that wives are mean and selfish, if only things were like the good old days!!). Asian men are raised to at LEAST appear HV in terms of physical needs - providing, not looking like a slob, paying for dates, keeping fit, etc. Usually if they are LV it's from being stunted emotionally or being emotionally abusive though, so it's hard to see from the outside of the relationship. I do agree they're on average not as bad... Asian men are almost never the yelling, aggressively misogynistic types and those are the worst hands down. I wouldn't put them on a pedestal though. Meh, I'd be down for divorce having stigma for men if they had children. Most women don't have children with men they aren't serious about, even the poor gf-mommy pickmes we keep seeing do see themselves as serious with their bfs. And even then, women initiate divorce more than men. How shitty do you have to be that a woman would rather take care of a child and do everything alone? How shitty do you have to be to break a pickme? Negative value, that's what.

It wasn't that long ago that women were "medicated" for being hysterical and emotional. Too bad doing the same thing to literal violent criminals would be a big no-no because they're male. Meanwhile even now women suffering from ptsd or what have you from the hands of men have to be "fixed" by psychologists to be happy again. And those men never have to change a thing about themselves.

It's porn addiction. There are tons of men who have more than willing gfs/wives who actually live with them or near them and they'll still choose porn over having sex with them. However, they still have ego needs so these types will still be trying for female attention and validation. This guy is definitely one of them, and long distance is a great excuse for him to never actualize any plans.

Yeah, I've seen some posts around here where PUA/redpill type language was used with some legitimacy which was alarming (!). A common one I've seen is when the poster uses the terms alpha/beta and hvm/lvm interchangeably. I do think it's a slippery slope because while many might treat these terms correctly by calling out the fact that they are PUA/manosphere type terms, it can get confused by newbies or even purposely entangled with FDS terms by trolls.

Assertive doesn't mean you HAVE to ask out a man lol what? The point is that if a man doesn't decide to actually pursue you, it's a bad enough sign that you should be dismissing him. It's a red flag. No one is saying that because he asked he's a HVM. They're saying because he didn't ask he's most likely a LVM and don't waste your time. That's the point of FDS - weeding out LVM and reducing the risk of dating.

It's also a loaded af term because they consider the top 20% of men in "looks, status, money" which has nothing to do with HVM or LVM. There are countless stories of absolute trashcan men who are dating kind and wonderful women because we are brainwashed into giving them a chance and believing that ugly/unfortunate men will be nicer than "Chads".

Of course, but once you've ruled out catfishing with a video call generally you have a good idea of what someone looks like and their general demeanor/personality is my point. If that were their intention (being afraid of investing too much in someone they don't know), you've got the right idea -- video chatting before meeting up would be much much much more popular than what it is. Instead, they generally opt for free or extremely cheap in-person dates. Why? I think you're underestimating how much value men get from simply being able to meet a woman in person at all. I think some women will feel angry because they've been taking accountability for all the wrong things and they're tired of feeling like it's their fault. They already feel it's their fault that their man doesn't treat them well etc. But it's freeing when you realize it's not your fault men are trash, other women are struggling with this too, and there IS a way out. Anger is always a problem. Anger at its root comes from a place of entitlement and shows a very dangerous lack of self control: xyz should have happened! You should be like x! I deserve y! Why are things like z? I have a zero tolerance policy for angry men. If they don't direct it at you in the beginning, be assured they EVENTUALLY will. Being frustrated is okay, being angry is not. To me it's because "she" isn't comparing things to the female perspective, only speaking of the male perspective as if she magically knew what that was and with NO "they probably think" or "they probably feel". I think a real woman would have compared banning porn to when abusive men ban their girlfriends from seeing their friends (as in, you don't want to be controlling like those guys) instead of comparing banning porn to banning the guy from seeing his friends.

Yep, there's a happy medium to everything. This is a load of bullshit with one tiny kernel of truth -- that living together CAN lead to forever gf-ing. It goes too far. It's the equivalent of "men who love you invest in you, so go fully financially dependent on him". Like NO, BAD IDEA lol, but one tiny part is true.

I think I am genuinely a "T" type but the thing is having your shit together really forces you to be more "A" type so I think no matter what, if you are "T", you should eventually be a mild "T" with a great balance of learned "A" traits. So just like you, I found my "type" changed over time.

Not only that but extraneous things inherent to our genders. Can women start to benefit the same as men when they are paired up? Nope, men get more social recognition from relationships/marriage. Are men giving up as many potential suitors as women? Nope, and it's by probably a factor of 100. There's also the false equivalency issues because relationships are seen from a very male centric POV. It's hard to write out an example, but it's obvious when you think of what a relationship might look li…

At the same time we are not obligated to take the high road or do everything with a smile. She hasn't given much context and I wouldn't mind her words if her ex were for example physically abusing her. I'd question it if he was just incredibly lazy. But the thing for me is I really think women should start doing what men do and back up strange women we don't know the full story of. It'd be great if at least 50% of the population would immediately react with "what did HE do to make her like THIS?…

I'd be curious to know if you actually enjoy the objectification part or if it's just because it's coming in a package deal with the feeling that "he's so sexually attracted to me that he's almost animalistically ravaging me". Remember that when they write these types of things, there's definitely a motive behind it. In this case, he wants women to think "all men are like this" so they dare not blame him for the way he acts and manipulates. He puts the blame on women for not being careful enough while also suggesting that there are no better men, only women who manage to essentially create better men. "Same expectations" on men YES, but do NOT go by standards set by men. If we applied that across the board our lives would SUCK and also society would not progress, lol. For example, just think of posts where men try to apply their standards about household chores. By male standards we'd all live in pigstys, get sick, and die early. Likewise, we are NOT going to equalize society around the culture of pornsick males.

At this point I don't think we can even truly educate the men. At least not peacefully. There needs to be harsher punishments for sexual assault and more public shaming/outcry against generally creepy behaviors (among other things). And I think the better word for women would be informing/waking them up. Replace bf and gf with "my 12 yo child and my 7 yo child" and suddenly this won't be okay to everyone even if the 7 yo thinks it's fun and isn't upset about it. Why? Because you can easily accidentally really hurt or even kill someone doing this no matter what the intention is. But change it back to bf and gf and "hE's jUsT dOmInAnT, LeT HiM hAvE fUn" even if the gf is feeling upset about it and the bf has the cognitive abilities to know he could easily really hurt her.

Sounds like it could be internalized racism, which sometimes can be less "fetishization of white people" and more "self-disgust at own race/others". ETA: actually when I think about it the weird thing isn't that you don't want to date your own race, but that you seem like you're only open to white guys. There's just some cultures with heavily misogynistic values and I don't blame any woman who doesn't want that. I'd think over the internalized racism part to make sure that's not the case, but de…

Being busy is such a great way of auto-vetting men, seriously. A HVM who really prioritizes you will accommodate you, simple as that. I used to put up with LVM who couldn't entertain themselves and then would demand my attention... Not anymore and never again!

I agree, and I think it would really just become misleading. We don't need a word for just women doing it when men do it too. It would also be confusing because it would be used as the "opposite" of toxic masculinity, which is a more valid term because men police masculinity more than women do. Both LVM and pickmes police femininity at probably equal rates.

LVM in terms of relationships with women are rampant and abundant. However, these same men may have the capability to be a decent-okay-ish enough friend, employee, boss, brother, etc to other men. (Note that men also have incredibly low bars for each other.) This is why men have trouble seeing it. You think there's basic requirements to be HVM but the big hurdle is these things have to be directed towards women for it to count, and men can't be arsed to be good to women because most of them are …

LVW with a LVM. I'm sure he's painting her in a very nasty light but unless he flat out lied about her hitting him or was dishonest about who started the physical fighting (leaving out him starting with pushing or something) it's kinda a yikes to ever hit someone for something like that. I wish she could've gathered her self respect and left instead, because he seems to be getting sick pleasure from her feeling jealous (especially to the point of anger).

Yes! Unless you're in a very unpopulated area or something, get out of that car ASAP because just being in it with someone like that is so, so dangerous. I would definitely look for the right opportunity to run before kicking him/pepper spray/whatever as I leave. Honestly what got me was OP basically invited him to banter with her, and he immediately shut that down in his response, almost to a condescending amount (but I may be rather sensitive to this sort of thing due to personal experiences). It makes my "he wants me to be a happy and simpleminded woman" radar go off. ETA: he also mentions looks twice somehow in his response. All the other comments were great, but I'd also like to add that the key is having an appropriate response. If he hasn't said anything, don't """escalate""" it further than he has by saying something. At most, you'd want to match the level he is displaying. In this case, it sounds like it wasn't safe enough to do so, but if you were with at least one other person or it was a crowded pedestrian area, a disgusted look would have worked well. There's also Asian men who are guilty of being a little TOO into stereotypical Asian traits. It's not quite the same, but it's sort of like racial fetishization's cousin. I think your comment just nailed something... Combined with the one above, FWBs work in theory IF we assume guys will be as empathetic, kind, and honest as most women are. But they really aren't (especially when it comes to sex! Some will seem pretty OK outside of romantic/sexual relationships so that can be a mindfuck.) So FWBs fails when the guy wants the FWB instead of the scenario you described, where their wish for a relationship keeps them more kind.

Ugh, 4 is the same energy of dudes who, when given a number, try to make sure on the spot that it's not a fake number. Like dude, even if a girl gave you a fake number/wasn't really busy/didn't really have a boyfriend what makes you think challenging her is going to make her change her mind??? 🙄

This is it. They are too weak to pursue what they really want, and it's a huge turnoff! One time I almost gave this one LVM a chance, as he hadn't showed any signs of being a LVM scrote before and seemed to maybe have potential. Lo and behold the instant he thought I might possibly give him a chance he jumped the gun and basically propositioned a hookup. Immediate nope from me and lowkey insulting, as I've always made it clear that I don't do casual. Also highly pathetic because this guy was DEF…

Here are other hallmarks of an unhealthy attachment: being overly complimentary, but you feel like he doesn't know you that well yet; asking overly personal questions quickly; trying to monopolize your time; trying to convince you that the connection is something special, but realistically there hasn't been much time to get to know each other; not respecting your wishes for him to be less clingy because of feels/emotions/etc (rapist vibes btw); overarching theme of self-pity (a responsible perso…

Thank your lucky stars this was an online thing. Do him a favor and break it off -- unless you want to keep this up with him forever. With you to use as a crutch, he will never seek out other social connections while draining you like an energy vampire. If this were an in-person thing, you could have possibly been in danger as guys like him can be very unstable. Remember all the signs leading up to this uncomfortable situation so you can dodge it if you run into it again. Realize that if you had…

Men have few stereotypes that are as universally believed as womens' and the ones they do have they always twist to suit themselves. (Eg "men have trouble being romantic so I can't put in effort to do a nice thing or two!" or "men aren't as good at housework as women, so YOU do the dishes!" or "men have trouble with emotions so shut up stop whining, i won't empathise with you!") If anything, FDS calls out and properly redefines the existing popular stereotypes about men. Some of them might even …

Anecdotally one of the LVM I dated was weirdly really excited about "getting comfortable" with each other, including farting and burping around each other. Turns out it was just a piece of his ultimate fantasy - a mega low effort "comfy" relationship where he imagined I would take the role of replacement mother. Luckily the instant I sensed that I lost attraction pretty quickly and he was dumped, but idk just keep in mind that his real intentions may be to get to the "low effort & boring" part o…

In my experience, guys are rarely truly humble unless they are actually killing it, in which case it's pretty obvious they are being humble. Usually when a guy tells you he's lazy (or whatever bad thing he says) and he doesn't seem out of the ordinary, that's because he IS lazy. Remember, unlike women men are NOT socialized to be overly "socially submissive" and downplay themselves. It's pretty rare ime for men to be humble for no reason, but ESPECIALLY around a woman he likes. (I could believe …

A lot of the answers here are great but also, men have a really strong bro-cult going on. Any male in the bro-cult who does too much for a woman is a simp. Any TINY little action that is designed for womens' pleasure etc is simping or gay (whether it is hygiene related, buying her a small gift, etc). Even verbally defending a woman makes you a white knight. Thus, they don't "not like other guys" because part of their definition of bring a guy is being misogynist, and going against that they woul…

Honestly I would have no idea how to respond to this question LOL. I'd probably just straight up not reply to the message until he says something else to gauge why it was sent... (It's a pretty effective technique ime. If he's a considerate person usually he assumes HE said something wrong... If he's rude he'll get annoyed at YOU for not replying or guess poorly about your reaction. and if he never sends another message he was never that interested.) All the replies here are plausible reasons as…

Can't believe that entire subreddit is trying to say a whole month of being almost completely ignored is okay. A month is a LONG TIME. If the guy was truly having to destress that hard for a month, his workplace probably violated some labor laws... and she'd probably see exactly how burned out he is. But in reality, he's just avoiding her and she kind-of knows it. It's evident in his method of making promises but it never getting better and him not feeling bad. Like really dude, there's literall…

I probably wouldn't be as offended at the guy trying to connect again, but it still wouldn't be a go because I would've lost interest in him if he just disappeared like that. If he told me he was seeing someone else and taking them seriously after 1 date I'd just forget about him easily, as I'm not emotionally attached at all at that point. I think a HVW would have moved on no matter the reason behind his disappearance (ghosting or explaining beforehand nicely).

My thoughts are you are speculating too much for a male you don't know (whether you are talking about her situation specifically or a hypothetical...) Additionally, I think the "dating someone else" thing just ruins the timing and foundation of the relationship if you went on serious dates with this guy before. I think it's not a good undercurrent to have running while trying to establish a real relationship. He had a choice to make and he made it. It may have been the right choice, but doors do…

Imo it's really similar to having sex too early. Being emotionally intimate too early also can have harmful effects. HVM won't hurt you with it while LVM will, but either way if you do it too early it can be detrimental to you. It's high risk, low reward.

That shame causes many women to uncontrollably cry when trying to express pure rage, and it's super upsetting. Because our anger was invalidated growing up, we're conditioned into a messed up expression of anger that helps keep us down (males always seem to take the anger less seriously when there is crying involved).

I've learned the pathetic ones are the worst. Their self-pity means they never take responsibility for their actions and they use it to justify anything awful they do. Plus, you are probably one of the few people nice to him and instead of appreciating it (like you'd think he would), he will likely see it as one of his only opportunities to "get some". Notice that no HVM have excessive self-pity. They may have other flaws, but I don't know of a HVM with self-pity. It's a trait that naturally des…

Men can manage to joke about terrible things and laugh because all of those terrible things are largely theoretical to them. They've never had to consider that stuff seriously, and then on top of that they're low empathy. In fact, thanks to porn their theoretical view of choking, hitting, and general violence against women is romanticized .

I wonder if men have always been this way, or has society encouraged men to objectify beauty in a bad way? Is their admiration of beauty just ruined by porn and discouragement of tying their emotions to their natural tendencies to chase beautiful women? Because there is a clear difference I feel when a HVM tells you you're beautiful vs a LVM. The feeling is a lot different. Maybe we are just sick of LVM view that we are bombarded with, so thinking a HVM might be similar disgusts us viscerally. T…

Girl, you are so patient. This gave me flashbacks to my NVM who did the shows thing... And from just that I was already quite upset with him for skipping ahead because his dumbass excuses were he "couldn't help it" and "really wanted to see the ending". I love how they always conveniently forget history. Like it really wasn't that long ago relatively speaking that women were solely kept at home as baby making maid machines. My question for you would be, is he considered a social outcast in any way? (Nerdy and resentful of it?) Does he ever victimize himself when talking about his past? Is he perhaps a little insecure? I think LVM can be petty in ways we women can never even imagine. We're so socialized to let things go that we can't imagine a person being so petty and small-minded... Until that's the only explanation left for their behavior. To this day I think my NVM ex was just a small dicked loser scrote that le…

I'm a very straightforward person and I've had a similar experience before with a NVM ex (also LDR). He made this small little comment like twice "your nails look better than before" while I was trying to kick my nail biting habit... One thing I learned from my past relationship is that I cannot and will not stand that uneasy insecure feeling in any of my relationships from now on. What I've learned is that if he doesn't fix it the very first time you bring it up and CLEARLY (no justifications, no men are visual animaaaals BS) stick to it - whether it is porn, Instagram, or checking out other women irl - it will be an ongoing nagging problem for the REST OF THE RELATIONSHIP.
