Her desires to break free are totally concerning, judging only from what we know I think this other woman doesn’t quite understand the decorum or have a great premise of how healthy relationships work. That she also came over unprecedented without you being present is inappropriate, even if it was an innocent mistake. Don’t take your insecurities to your man. Also tell him it’s inappropriate for women to come over when you aren’t there. It just simply is, regardless of whether or not you are com…

Just because comparisons can be used to improve your competition doesn’t mean comparing always does or should result in competition. There’s a difference between recognizing differences and similarities (comparison) and actively working toward an objective (competition). But maybe as a competitive woman these things are one in the same for you?

Please edit your post to reflect the rules. You’ve provided a lot of information but we need more context. What are your limits on infidelity? On what grounds would you be eager, confident but displeased, and distrustful and unhappy with your husband moving forward? Find your starting point and what you would and wouldn’t be comfortable with if you haven’t already. I’m not encouraging you to imagine a thousand different scenarios to abuse yourself, but consider what it would take for you to be h…

I love that you mention not getting caught up in things! I think that our female nature, being given to solipsism and having such adaptive mindsets, our day to day life becomes our whole world, and so the things that bother us on the daily grind become monstrous. We are inclined to make mountains out of molehills which is something that only a focus on gratitude, or a broadening of perspective by making our world slightly bigger in some way (e.g. a change of scenery, a new friendship) can help. …

Such a ridiculous assertion omg! We could just as easily say sex with black people is fetishizing. Like WTF do they want?

Overall I think the changes made have contributed to a greater sense of peace in our relationship. It's been a little stressful lately (me starting a job, family vacation, etc.) and the small changes I've made have helped me to become more conscientious overall and in general more intentional which seem to positively contribute to both our moods! I'll be continuing to invade his personal time/space less, and be more intentional with my words. Something I've started doing recently is being more p…

Excellent distinctions! I've cut off some friendships and incorporated new hobbies and life goals with his influence and am soooo much the better for it. Never knew I'd be into golf, or fishing, or gaming but man has he improved my life by bringing them into it! I used to put so much pressure on myself to excel in x categories relative to y people in a way that was seriously challenging to my self esteem, and not in growth-inspiring ways. Its arguably a total loser mentality, but revising the ru…

I think the notion that we shouldn't change for any man assumes that men are incapable of encouraging us toward beneficial self development, and that any changes a man may value seeing are automatically counter to our own personal goals. Clearly, this is not the case with every member of the stronger sex! Its as if its impossible to become improved by change, impossible to be beneficially motivated by others. I think both are absolutely asinine perspectives! I usually see these ideas coming from…

Yay you two 😊♥️ He seems like an act of service/physical touch person. If you don’t do those two for him, defo start! Little things like showering together and washing his hair for him, where you can combine the two, will be key! Try to keep a hand on him while he drives, and even things like having a glass of water next to his favorite spot and unlacing his shoes for him when he gets home can pack a love wallop 😊

I’ll add to this! He does this stuff for you specifically because he thinks it communicates his gratitude and respect. Why does he do these things specifically? Is it because it’s the love language you use with him, that you respond best to, or because it’s what he likes to give, or what he likes to receive? I think it’s best to gracefully accept what he is giving. It’s possible that worrying about you is causing him more fatigue than the things he is actually doing! It’s wise to limit how much …

I obsessively pinned images of home decor until finding a style that worked for us. He prefers slightly more architectural and sleek looks mixed with eclectic colorful pieces, and I prefer ornate vintage French and Mediterranean looks, and so I carefully mix these, deferring primarily to his tastes in his bathroom and our bedroom. I use Facebook marketplace and Nextdoor to find vintage pieces I could never afford at an antique store or auction. I’m curious about the idea of using rugs to better …

We talked on the phone every morning on his way to work, made great use of our visits. It was hard but worth it! Closing the distance was tough at first, only in the sense that I wanted him all the time and he still requires a little alone time being an introvert! But we got even better at loving each other FAST and it’s been bliss. 10192881010101/10 would do again 😊

Our cat! He is adept at rearranging counters for us if he is displeased with our tidiness! I like scheduling small gatherings on a frequent enough basis to stay motivated. Having a French press makes the morning slower, too! I’ve also noticed how much less peaceful it is to sleep/nap when the house is in disarray. The way I prefer to dress at home also keeps me honest. I am essentially Tinkerbell. I die without attention. This charms my husband often, but there are times he needs more space. As a physical touch love language, I am touching him quite constantly which can be a distraction. My goal for the week is to respect his personal space more, particularly while he is immersed in a book or hobby.

So unless there's more you aren't telling us about, this sounds like a challenge isolated to the bedroom. I wouldn't be hasty to say the marriage is failing <3 It's good that you are both each other's exclusive source of sexual stimulation, and this is definitely a very forward suggestion, but consider discussing bringing some solo sessions back into the mix. I don't know that this is or isn't an abusive situation with your husband, but I am concerned. His reaction seems a bit over the top, even if this incident was the straw that broke the camel's back so to say. It might suit to seek a therapist/counselor to talk things through with, to get a better read on the situation. I think it is worth talking with a professional about your personal development, and also to determine if this is likely to be a relationship that could result in emotional and/or…

Vulnerability is the correct response, but being vulnerable =\= forcing or allowing yourself to cry. Let’s assume the man has been properly vetted, and is a high value man who more than merits submitting to and following. This man likely won’t fly off the rails for no reason, for the most part anything that angers him is a matter that should be attended to seriously. In this case, being vulnerable will allow you to get to the heart of the conflict, open yourself up to understand what he’d like t…

u/glitterchild I also think there’s a risk of waiting for perfection before you ovary up and get out there. No one is READY to meet the love of their life. I think to a degree when you meet your person, you’ll always set your personal sights a bit higher each day so you can be better for them, better with them. You’re personal development is never over, but you should be confidently satisfied in your person otherwise you’ll self sabotage.

I’m sure you’ve read this but I wanted to make it accessible again 😊 I think a monk mode phase would be good if: you feel like your current SMV and RMV might turn away a man you’d be willing to commit to. you are seriously going to address the issues you believe are preventing you from securing a man (if you’re just going to dick around and not get serious and honest with yourself and put in the work, you’re just letting opportunities pass by... possibly in fear of committing to the whole proces…

For me it depends on how much I am invested in a person? If it’s a person I’ve always been and aspire to stay very close to, I’ll be more likely to give advice. I also know not to give advice to some kinds of friends. Like you can often just tell if it would or wouldn’t be welcome, if you’ll just end up making an enemy. Usually I try not to befriend people who are so combative against their men, or who are clueless about the kind of joy and levity they can bring to their man’s life if they’d man…

So housework is one of those things that can easily cause strife. I’m pro cleaning service, or making just a once a week time of it together. There are things I refuse to do that I can’t.. high shelves, changing sheets, shaking out rugs. Whatever. The letting it go to shit method never works with most things. Ever been in a frat house? Men don’t often, generally, care. The pristine home is OUR standard, not theirs.

How awesome! I am working on this now as well. Just recording stuff I know to make and finding recipes that other people talk about. I plan to eventually make my own hard copy of these recipes organized scrapbook style. I think that once I successfully try a recipe from a cookbook, and make changes to it based on his/my preferences, I'll record them anew in my own recipe book. How do you go about finding recipes? Do you start with a full dish idea, or an ingredient, a nationality...?

I don't have any cookbooks yet! I'm undecided if I want to get some now, or wait to put them on our wedding registry. I’m also scared of looking like a fool This, to me, seems like the crux of the challenge that you have control over, and by focusing on addressing this specific facet you may crack the whole code. Relationships succeed when people have respect, but they (IMO) are doomed to fail without vulnerability. Be willing to be the fool. Make good choices and all that, but by worrying about being made a fool, you’ll sort of always have one foot out of the relationship. So double down, and be vulnerable. Wh…

I know you’re against it, but online dating can work insanely well. I met my fiancé on eharmony without even really trying to, which still blows my mind. At this point, take advantage of a resource that will amplify your efforts to date. The way I see it, people of value keep themselves busy spending time doing things that matter to them (so they frequent places that reflect their values). Their time is also precious, and so it makes sense that they’d like to screen potential romantic candidates…

So this bit from the 5 Love Languages website explains Quality Time, but it strikes me as if it’s written for/by female. If you’re an extrovert or your man is slightly more introverted, this “side by side time” concept is one you’ll need to learn sooner rather than later!

We are obsessed with both sizes of rubber spatulas. Also, I NEED these bright spring, animal themed ones so badly. My style statement totally applies to kitchen utensils haha But they're so helpful for mixing everything from baked goods to stirfries to sauces. They get into the corners and keep stuff from burning. AND THE ONE'S FROM WS HAVE AN OCTOPUS like what more do you want? Lysol wipes and Windex wipes are EVERYTHING. He got me hooked on sink plinks! So basically any skills you have can be used. Are you good at organizing a home and storage? You could offer to organize people's closets, garages, pantries, home offices, etc. Great at babysitting? You could take on a few little ones to watch as needed or a couple times a week, or even hire on at a church nearby to babysit during adult small groups or other events. Some stores might hire seasonal part time help (like garden flower nursery places that are really busy in late spring, or home deco…

Seeing my dad be so proud about doing everything himself (which he can, but sometimes I'd rather he just pay someone with only the one skillset so he is more available for fun stuff) my boyfriend and I are both pro outsourcing for important home repairs. That's adorable!!! And so interesting. I mean she does talk about sex a lot, but since she's so small and cute and Asian and SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT it has a distinctly different vibe than Amy Schumer. Just because I hate disliking people who are popular to dislike, I choose not to have bad feelings about Amy Schumer haha but I get why people dislike her, sort of. I don't get why people choose to be so passionate about it though. As for Ali Wong, definitely watch Baby Cobra before Hard Knock Wife!…

That's such an interesting challenge, I'm so happy for you two that you did what it took to be together, and I'm sorry it's created a default setting you're unhappy with. Awesome comment! I second all of it. It's easier to hire help than it is to get a divorce, so I fully support doing whatever necessary to bring more help online, especially in areas of your jurisdiction. I'll add that my experience is totally based on our individual preferences, which is likely the case with most couples. I love all of this!!! So excited for rituals with the little ones. I think teaching children to sit still while you read to them (longer books over time) and then doing the same as they learn to read is SO important. I know I'm probably rather critical of this, not being a babysitter anymore or having kids myself, but I'm always shocked at how many parents don't seem to teach their children to sit still, be quiet, or be thoughtfully verbal. AWESOME STUFF! I love rituals and routines. I like that this discusses the distinction between religion and ritual... for me, I've always felt I'm more of a spiritual person than a religious person, even when I had regularly routinized church services/small groups/prayer/meditation. Yes! The placeholders do serve the same purpose, and are not an ideal permanent solution IMO. I think I may train myself to use them temporarily while I'm "detoxing" from cursing. I grew up in the military and it was always so comical to me, hearing my dad's friends slipping up and using such colorful language. I still enjoy the window into the male world today, seeing intelligent men freely expressing themselves aggressively. It may go without saying, but I do agree that there should be boundar…

I like this as a transition! I'm glad it works for you. For me, being shamed into better behavior is rather effective. E.g. when I'm being senselessly emotional during certain points in my cycle, am unwell, or whatever, the best way to get me back on track is to be made fun of. It makes everything more lighthearted. But I so see what you mean... I'd feel rather ridiculous saying "Oh fudge," but that'd be a very helpful behavioral tool! Thanks for your thoughtful reply! :)

Ooooh! Bringing class into the discussion is certainly far more interesting than the conversation I was originally hoping for. Specifically avoiding words used by proles I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on that if you have anything to add! Is it to get attention? A quick way to increase your value in a social setting? I love considering these potential reasons. Mindfulness is so imperative! I like critically evaluating the things that may prompt us to respond in certain ways.

One approach I've had some success with lately is replacing a profane word with a more eloquent piece of vocabulary. "I'm sick of Lisa's bullshit," has become "I'm sick of Lisa's inane behavior." It does tend to make me feel I'm perceived as a bit too serious, even high handed, when I do this, though, so all things in moderation. If it's not worth doing this, then likely I don't need to be talking about whatever negative thing would prompt me to curse. I've seen the Shakespearean curses, which a…

It went really well! It ended up prompting me through the process of some really important introspection. I'm a helper dog, and I've got some paradigms to shift regarding my own sense of worth and value. These things absolutely affect my relationship, how I perceive my needs, and how I perceive him. Un-training these thinking patterns and putting new ones in their place is a tough uphill climb, but this challenge has really helped me see things more clearly while also giving me some key action i…

It can so affect policy and culture! It’s totally their purpose for conducting research. They should have research to substantiate their claims. They obviously did surveys and studies to prove a lot of obvious things to try and give their views weight. I’m curious too! My first-fifth preferred love language is physical touch, basically, so I’ve tried a few things. I’ve tried to cut down on being naked around him (It’s always been my goal in life to be nude or near nude as much of the time as possible) and that was just odd to him because he knew it wasn’t authentic. Step 0 is so important! Since red pill men, or men with red pill women, are the gatekeepers to sex (since we make a point to acquiesce to sex virtually always) it is our responsibility to first read the room. This method of seduction ensures a “soft start” to sex that he can smoothly stop if you misread the room. It also increases the likelihood of him saying yes. I don’t decide for him that he is to good for me, or that I am a nuisance, or any other thing that would possibly motivate me to make a decision that affects us both by myself based on my own emotions/complexes. Basically, don’t self sabotage. Does that make sense? It has taken me years to begin to grasp what this truly means to be honest.

I love Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. I like seeing a couple who at least appear to have a loving, supportive marriage and present a unified front. The video is short but it got me thinking about the rules my boyfriend set for us (..me) early on: no going to bed angry when your mind runs away with you, don’t run so far I cannot catch you do not make work for other people I decide what you are (not good enough, too much, etc.) and you can’t do that for me These have mitigated so many issues, or at…

I love this! I feel like the trend of resolutions cheapens the conversations my family and friends and I share at New Year, and the whole concept of establishing personal missions, visions, values, goals and intentions. I’m so excited for you! Great job hitting your goals and best wishes in maintaining and improving!

I like this post a lot, especially as I reflect on this last year and envision the next one! I want to REALLY treat myself... bearing in mind all my roles, goals, and tendencies to ensure the choices I make truly reflect what I truly value... rather than what simply feels good.

SO COOL! I think my genetic program is broken. In other words, I do question if I might be addicted to sex with/orgasms from my man. There is certainly such a thing as enough but no such thing as too much, for me anyway. With physical touch as my #1 love language, and some mundane and nonsensical emotional baggage, I am super sensitive to rejected sexual advances and a lack of affection after sex. We’ve figured out what works to appease us both but I am a total believer in maintenance sex. It br…

Such a fun discussion! David Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence Theory has always been one of my favorites (in theory and practice), and I respond well to this as it makes me feel safe. He picks me apart and guides me accordingly, reinforcing to me how he can influence others, how he has numerous tools at his disposal to lead me, and how well he knows himself. This is a strong element of his leadership. He can be very manipulative and terrifying because of it, but it also cuts out a lot of wasted …

Holidays are the best time of year to become a better woman. It’s like domestic red pill boot camp! All the things I’ve worked at all year (cooking, cleaning, beauty, time management and disposition) are harder to practice through the year. It seems impractical to do all these trial run skill sets without a direct need, and it wasn’t apparent how much progress I had/hadn’t made either. And then, December struck. We have four events down, seven to go. Here is what I have learned! Cooking a millio…

I’m all in on this. I’m not a parent yet, and reserve the right to change my mind. Teaching kids consent and sex ed at a young age empowers them. The naiveté they lose after “the talk” is nothing compared to what they could keep if knowledge truly is power in potentially dangerous situations. Taking this too far could strain family relationships, but I would 2,000/10 rather risk that than children’s well being. Listen to your gut, be watchful, and teach your little nuggets to do the same. This i…

I was gifted tickets to an Escape Room last year and he LOVED it. I think experiences are generally the best way to go with men who have a lot of buying power and get spendy :) What is his love language? * Touch: study massage techniques, get him a nice set of many face/beard/body oils and lotions to give him a massage; do something extremely tactile like salsa lessons or couples yoga * Words: maybe a photo album, a book of poetry, a concert with a band whose lyrics he likes, a mixtape of songs …

Head to r/wicked_edge for shaving recs! I like gifting my man sample packs of shave soaps/after shaves/beard oils... less expensive and more of an experiment and therefore experience! You can get these and a decent shave kit (safety razor, blades, brush) for under $100! They do make sample kits of various blades, which is important (my man loooooves one particular blade he found in a sample pack). But you could also spend like hundreds if you got really extra. I love this! I always go back to my experiences training horses. When working a horse, it’s crucial to set them up for success for every step. I want the horse to turn right, so I essentially do everything to show them that turning right is the correct answer, and freedom from cuing and working lies through that door. I “close all the other doors” and leave the turn right “door” open. A few times, I erred and closed too many doors, leaving no correct doors for the horse to go through, making the…

It’s just so depressing and hilarious at the same time. Feminists seem to rage and talk a huge game about the movement being for all women everywhere but this shows fabulously how solipsistic feminism is. I appreciate when they don’t elbow their way in to “fix” a patriarchy that doesn’t directly concern them that they can’t comprehend... but it’s amazing how they undermine themselves so thoroughly and frequently. It almost makes me feel bas for them, just a little.

Fascinating!!! I do worry about this. It’s useless and unfair to condemn the dead, and even the most elderly today, for things that were normal then that are wrong now. Like it shouldn’t need mentioning that slavery is of course unethical, and I am not minimizing those things. But other than making more informed decisions and curating history I think much of this condemnation is pointless. Its a circle jerk. This is fantastic! I’m excited to pour over the links in the morning but want to jump in with a few things now. Having the right physical posture goes a long way to cementing the right mental posture. Stingray said all of it fabulously but I want to add. There is a masculine sphere, and a feminine sphere. Each relationship is a bit different, but from your reading of this sub you understand the areas where a woman is better designed to lead. My boyfriend and I got draped, and my field report is coming to FNF soon but I just had to share. It was exciting to me because, since we spend so much time together or with family, I have been seeing more of our differences lately. Not in the discord sense... but just awareness of our differences. Doing this draping, I saw our similarities again. "Are you going to wear a lot of pink now that you know you can?" "... fuck it. I've been feeling out how solipsism can be a good thing and it makes SO much sense. I never thought it could be a good thing until I considered how it's a survival method that women have been conditioned to since pre-history. YES! The decompression thing is so important. I find it a tough balance sometimes. My boyfriend likes to think about work and untangle the web of incoming tasks, current projects, and future challenges but he can easily fixate on it, and once he has untangled things mentally and shut off work mode he doesn't like to turn it back on. Softening the startup is SO important. If you can’t put down the accusations, blame, judgement, and negative feelings you’ll never have a productive conversation. I think couples who don’t soften startup are essentially more invested in making their partners feel the negative repercussions of the mistake than they are invested in reclaiming common ground. In the original linked post, I found some things to help myself clarify what I can do to live a joyful reality. This is not a political action, at least not in the modern sense of the word. Instead, it is made up of human actions. I don't think these actions need to be grandiose... if they were, they wouldn't be repeatable actions that can sustainably become part of a lifestyle. Love this! Here are a few thoughts that I use to keep my own superiority complex in check: I am far more likely to be critical of something if I understand and am familiar with something... for me this usually means I am recognizing something disadvantageous in someone else that I know firsthand because I have that disadvantage myself. Now we're both unlearning some things and it's really challenging. I think the cardinal rules of communications are honesty (duh), intent (why are you saying what you're saying, are the motivations ethical or unethical?), attention (how do your messages land, how can you make them land better in the future? If saying "I love you" doesn't land as well, ho…

LOVE this. It touches on some ideas I also loved from the resources I mentioned on psychological femininity as well as ideas from the book Iron John by Robert Bly. If you've done your vetting, if your man is sane, what do you really have to fear? That you will learn how to follow? That you will no longer have to worry about controlling everything? That you will become even more attracted to your man? That your man will be his authentic self? Edit to add: This really makes a lot of sense. Part of…

There were times I was deliberately being flirty and was called out. There have been and are still times I am not flirting but am perceived as flirtatious for the reasons you have mentioned. There's a "hold my own" vibe that often comes with being extroverted, I think, that if not accompanied by a willingness to be vulnerable can be misinterpreted or truly done in a way that isn't submissive at all. When I switched from extroversion to have fun myself, and extroversion to bring people into havin…

Hi! Me!!! I'm here! I was single, found my boyfriend, then discovered RPW. I was pretty bold. Still am. We met on EHarmony... I was on the free account just to learn about myself and ended up really liking him from the controlled conversations the app guides you through. There was a "free communication" weekend, so I just went for it. "I think you're great. If you'd like to tell me more about how great you are, my number is ###.###.####. Xo, Jack_Hammarred." Asking the right questions is tough, I'm really amazed at how everyone condensed their thoughts into such great questions! I've challenged myself to embrace the power I have, to trust myself, but I'm still ashamed of my hesitation. Am I right to seek this confidence, and if so, how can I really toss my own lid off?

The way it puts you in touch with life is so humbling and awe inspiring. Nothing is permanent. Life is a gift. We are part of something bigger. Nothing is guaranteed. In one day, we bred mares, we had two foals born, lost one to aneurism (her mother was blind and stepped on her while the baby was asleep) and had to put down an old mare. The worst was the mare who lost her baby... I think we ended up keeping her with the wet (mates with foals at their side) herd and she ended up co-parenting some…

What I think is valuable about the "beauty in all shapes and sizes" is that losing/gaining and maintaining an attractively healthy physique is really difficult, nonlinear, and takes time. Just because I am now actively striving to convert fifteen pounds to be more healthy and beautiful, which I don't expect total results from to appear for about six months…

I come from an equine/livestock production background and feel this truth in a serious way. At my family operation and work there were a few old mares with foals on the ground. These were mares that were pushing 20 (a well taken care of horse can crest 30, but most horses, whether they work or reproduce, see their prime between the ages of five and fifteen) who hadn't foaled for a couple years because they couldn't get or stay bred. I always tried to carefully question the people making the bree…

This is a headspace I've struggled with a lot. My man has helped a LOT. He's helped me understand that there is a formidable strength in vulnerability, and that being strong isn't about not needing help or not making mistakes... it's actually about taking charge of what you can while continually handling life better. It has nothing to do with isolation or walls... we build walls because we are weak and don't want people to see or touch our weakness, not because other people make us weaker.

This has probably always been an issue. I feel like the worse offenders are actually women above 30, although most of the women that age are in my life by secondary choice (boyfriend's mother/SIL, my family) rather than my friends my age so my view could be skewed. But the ease and willingness with which women will openly discuss their negative opinions of other people and women is very uncouth. The "live your life" message in that comment is solid. I'm annoyed by a lot of social media but the nature of my work dictates I have a presence. I give this a toot. I see this life pro tip in so many comments here, usually from the men who come for women who post things like "I'm a total mess how do I get a man." I want to be a congruent person with nearly the same frame in any given social situation... plus or minus some topics of discussion, language, and interests.

Option 2 mixed with option 1. Control the access he has to critique you... maybe rather than showing him your favorite successes (pieces that a harsh critique will hurt your feelings with) show him what you are insecure about or what you hate and ask for constructive criticism... "I'm hating this... what would you change?" "I'm struggling to like this.. what do you like about this? I need to see it in a better light to move past this." Maybe make a happy ritual in the day where you talk about pl…

I had a dream I was teaching a horsemanship clinic, trying to demonstrate a specific maneuver before coaching the students. "Go ahead and drop your reins and watch my little horse. Forgive my solipsism as we demonstrate a correct stop..." Totally nonsensical, but I thought it was funny how my reading made it into my dream world.

I'm not a parent yet, ymmv. If you've got a gym membership or access to a kickboxing class or something inexpensive yet similar to martial arts, take your daughter to one to try out. Even tell her that her level of commitment to learning it will dictate your willingness to take her to martial arts. Let her prove whether or not she takes this interest seriously in a way that encourages her personal growth. On one hand, young people need adults in their lives to help them make decisions and provid…

When we communicate, we are balancing intentions, actions, and impacts. It's our responsibility as listeners to determine intention regardless of a persons actions or how they impacted us. Then it's our job to determine our intentions and select the actions that will deliver impacts that best match those intentions. There's a difference between a threatening come-on that's inappropriate and a mindless come-on from someone who operates out of kindness... I learned this the other way. My friend al…

Thanks for this. I still cringe about behaving childishly around Man, but there is a difference between the giggling and still being a productive adult contributor to the relationship that your post clarifies.

The whiteheads you are experiencing have more to do with your skin rather than a specific method of hair removal. You are removing the hair, allowing the space it previously filled to instead possibly fill with sebum and oil. Most likely, no matter what method of temporary hair removal method you select and what shade or type of skin you have, you can have this issue. Here is a great post about whiteheads/blackheads and prevention. https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/3g9izh/are_ahas_be…

I thought I'd share these lists Man and I exchanged about productivity back around New Year's. Given our almost perfectly opposite personality types, it's no surprise to me our lists are almost totally contradictory. Mine: A. Start the day with something fun related to your most important goals/responsibilities/relationships. Starting productivity on a high note gets the ball rolling, eliminating "to-do list paralysis." Don't let yourself start the task until a certain reasonable time, the suspe…

I love this! A festive smattering of things to think about. Thank you! I wish that article about the research would discuss the kinds of characteristics addressed. My thought would be that people are willing to overlook a man being over six feet if he is still closer to tall than short, or that they're willing to tolerate someone who drinks socially when they say they prefer a non-drinker. The laundry lists of characteristics people look for in partners are highly annoying, as they often seem to…

Man and I were watching it. Or, were. Until we saw episode 6 last night. He's been iffy about the series but we were fed up with Danny laughing to tears last night. He is such an unbelievable character. He has this childlike authenticity that, while good for a character who left the real world as a child and returned with a reinforced moral code, is cloying. If he is such a survivor, how does he not realize he needs to keep the mystical to himself and talk with his fist in order to survive in th…

Not married yet, so I don't do all the cleaning and chores at his apartment. When I'm there when he's out, I'll wash and put away all of his laundry. I enjoy doing it so much, whereas he just gets it done, and he's always surprised despite how much I rave about his washer and dryer (it's the holy grail of appliances.) Whenever I stay with him for a couple days and leave when he is at work or out I write a letter and leave it someplace for him. One day I was looking for a pocket knife and stumble…

THIS. I read a comment, possibly one you're alluding to, about this general concept and almost got a headache rolling my eyes so hard. There is a lot about the RP community that drives me nearly insane, but to each their own and there's too much good here to turn me away completely. We've all left the cave, and I think we are all here learning and celebrating opportunity well handled. I swallowed the pill about six months ago and have been really hesitant about it all until very recently because…

Our plan sounds a lot like u/teaandtalk We aren't married yet but we've talked about this in detail, especially since we both have awful spending habits if we go unchecked. I make more now and probably will for the foreseeable future. Yet I've just started paying my student loans back and he is almost done, so we are roughly on even footing now. We plan on putting in equal percentages of our income for a joint account and the rest in personal accounts. I spend more week to week than he does on d…

Awesome questions. I wonder if they are a bit vague and might make him exasperated... consider making these more specific and not bombarding him with a bunch of questions so he will give you better words in response. If he thinks you sit around all day, I wonder if there are things unkempt about the household (or cleanliness/orderliness things you aren't attending to that he values and doesn't take the initiative to handle himself) making him say this. I don't think telling him all about all the…

Yes yes yes. There's documentation that the things in the parent comment help drastically... exercise, sleep, good diet and overall health, constructive reflection, and good habits that you know are good and maintain even when you wanna go fetal position. But many psychological challenges are the result of something you can't change... chemical imbalances that are hormonally related that'll level out eventually or are more permanent things you'll have to work through your whole life. The cause o…

Falling into the "gotta finish school before I am xx years old" hype is ridiculous, IMO. Especially if you don't know what you want out of the experience and don't have a professional network that can help you leverage options, contacts, and a good reputation. Even more so if you don't have good scholarship prospects. Even more so if it's a degree program that will be expensive and require you to jump through lots of undergrad and graduate level hoops, and that degree isn't flexible (MBA will al…

My mom stayed at home with me until I was going to school, at which point she started working jobs that allowed her to get me on and off the school bus every day. I want to manage my time the same way if it’s financially feasible. They never "pushed" me, but instead expected honesty when they'd ask if my work was truly my best effort and if I was taking advantage of every opportunity to succeed. I found a passion for science and communications in high school, and the way my mom tirelessly suppor…

I know tops who are hitting walls, too, and tops who are afraid of hitting walls because "25 is old in gay years." I don't think the wall is exclusive to any gender/persuasion/tribe at all. It seems to me the wall is as much an external as an internal issue based both on your own perceptions of your market value (of whatever variety) and your real market value. Whether you were on the carousel for a few years, a few decades, or never, as you age your values and desires shift along with the rest …

I'm under 30, too. 2 years being single, 3 degrees at 3 different schools in 3 different states, 4 years roommates, 5 years total in college. Staying the night (or day) after casual sexual activity for either male/female is never a sure thing. It seems that sharing bodies is sometimes easier than sharing a bed, personal space, or a good night's sleep and the roommate's personal space. This is really common now, and taking a ride home post canoodle doesn't necessarily equate to negative connotati…

Email him or text him every few days while he is gone. In addition to whatever responsibilities he is getting bombarded with when he reconnects to wifi, he will have a few pleasant good vibes mixed in that show him his absence from your day to day in no way meant he was absent from your thoughts. It's also kind of therapeutic for those moments where you miss him or need to share something. He may need some serious decompression time when he comes home that may be completely different from his ty…

At this point in time with the technology we can access, I think worrying about being too available for phone interactions is a farce. Many people can access much of what they need to be effective from their phones. You're not needy for having near constant text availability, you're responsible. Make it easy on yourself and this person. Respond as soon as you get the message and have time to respond.

I'm late to the party but wanted to spill some first and second hand tea. I'm 24, met my SO 3.5 years ago. Monogamous LTR LDR. swoon Some of my girl friends and I spun a different plate every week/few weeks depending on our other goals/responsibilities and the nature of the plate. The range of experiences we had with our partners also varied drastically... I never sealed the deal with anyone, whereas other friends did so adventurously.
