Dude. It’s a big reason I’m divorced now. Years of being told that I wasn’t open minded enough or that I wasn’t contributing to the emotional side of the relationship. Then when I finally tied and eventually broke emotionally I was cast aside as weak insecure and pathetic.

Dude if you had done this you would straight up be on the national news every day. In regards to your question it’s simple. She dosent want to. Forget everything you know about logic and reasoning on everything you have to do to deal with this woman going forward. Believe nothing, trust nothing she says or does. It’s a hard pill to swallow but the sooner you accept it it will get easier. I mentally had to stop thinking of her as a person.

I became good with just coexisting. our daughters are late teenagers. I don’t press, they know who they are and have their own autonomy to some extent. We actually get along better now it the last 6 months then the last few years. But no, there is no reason to rekindle. We out grew each other and I have no interest in anything more then what we have now

You were actually allowed to put knives in the dishwasher? How did you get away with that!! Everybody knows that the dishwasher “damages” the knife blades. Thats one of the first nuggets of wisdom marriage blessed me with. I had to relearn so many things after many bouts of trials and errors and doing it wrong when I was single Could you believe that I spent the better part of two decades doing it wrong before she so graciously entered my life and retaught me the correct method. When you first split and no one was berating you was it weird at first? For me it was…..no one telling me I didn’t know how to drive. No one rage sighing on the other side of the room constantly, only to be told nothing was wrong when you asked if things were okay, only to find out hours later that she still mad at you and your incompetence and that your inconsiderate for not being able to fortune tell her feelings next Tuesday ……..🤯🤯😮😮🙄🙄

We had a cleaning lady/ friend of my ex because my ex was allergic to dust….but not so allergic that we had to clean the house before the cleaning friend came, because we wouldn’t want the cleaning friend to be insulted and make the work more difficult than it needed to be, if I did, then I was inconsiderate. So I would clean mostly , (because ex couldn’t) then get yelled at because it wasn’t right , then pay her friend to clean what I just cleaned the night before, but now it was better cleaned…

The uncomfortable energy of trying to relax on a Saturday in the afternoon after doing all the yard work by yourself for 4 hours in the morning to come inside shower, sit down on the couch only to be stared at with an insulting look and bitch face expressing “what do you think you’re doing, we need to rage clean the house? I’m like trust me, I’m not as desperate as you think I am. I’ve learned it’s OK to have high expectations for myself however, when it comes to expectations for others,I dont get my hopes up. It’s not “dating” because I no dates ever become of my efforts. Honestly I’ve had one date….shes nice, but in all transparency she’s almost exactly like my ex wife….its like a mean trick. It’s been 2 years…... I even did my own amends to her for my own mistakes. Not for her, but for my own sanity. It was actually amazingly cathartic to do because I know I could have been a better husband. Her…..crickets…….. And honestly I am okay with it because now I can truly tell myself that I know I did everything I could, even trying to show forgiveness and say I’m sorry.

Serve her first. My ex kept kicking the can. Said she wanted a divorce beginning of May. Every week or so I would ask if she was going to file, no action just talk, I got sick of hearing it and living in limbo and did it myself. Gave her the papers July The look on her face was awesome. I didn’t know it at the time but this was the first step in claiming my own individuality and life back.

Do it in a public place when you tell her. That way you have witnesses in case she goes crazy. Make sure you record the whole conversation on your phone. If for no other reason than to make sure you understand what she says. I did it for my own personal use because it is going to be an awkward situation and having the ability to go back and listen for my own sanity helped me

Dude. You are wasting your time. It’s like trying to have a rational discussion with a toddler at this point. Save yourself the time, energy and frustration and get your own lawyer now and worry about your own future and your kids. Divorce is crappy enough with everything else that takes place. I understand it’s not cheap and that divorce’s can be expensive. Do you know why? Because it’s worth it!

I was in something similar. Not to the extreme you are but what you are describing isn’t love. It’s codependency. Didn’t cheat, same with work and she cutting back hours to “do more around the house”? When Covid hit I saw what that really was. “ I spent 4/12 hours alone just doing laundry today!” No you spent maybe 20-30 mins starting and moving over loads, and folding when the dryer went off. I had a similar situation was told in April she wanted a divorce. Wouldn’t file, kept making BS excuses. I finally just did it myself and I served her personally, that was early July. This was last year. Moved out that September and everything was done by February. House sold/closed last month. It’s still hurting but it gets easier with time. I’m very grateful for the therapist I have now. Turns out we have very similar experiences and current situations. He challenges me on my thoughts and offers honest opinions. Women tend to think therapy is only valid for the man. I have probably seen 7-8 counselors since we married 17 yrs ago. The one time she actually went with me at the request of one of the counselors she got angry afterwards because the therapist questioned her on some of her beliefs. Kinda weird having a female therapist challenge her. Not gonna lie.

I think you don’t understand the larger issue. It’s not just about “rights”. It’s about “ perception”. But to each their own

No they helped but I picked everything out, figured out the best way to re arrange furniture, measured everything and it was like four trips between different stores. I am super grateful my daughters and I did this together, but people and comments on other social media sites assume that the man who did 80/90 % of all the actual work is not engaged, or involved and didn’t do anything.

Get therapy for you only. It’s amazing how much you can get off your chest and you don’t have to worry about her refuting any of it or try to defend yourself

My point is if I had randomly walked up to a complete stranger and said the same thing to her a female it would have not gone over well

My STBXW worked 3rd shift in labor and delivery so I always had some sympathy for her, I was like a single parent half the time a couple week total a month. Then I started a new gig and made more money. She wanted to cut back and go to days. I honestly couldn’t blame her. Then Covid hit and I saw firsthand what a SAH mom does all day when there’s no accountability.

Curious what double standards you have had to endure. Mine are/we’re constant. If something is my idea, like a certain restaurant, never where or what she wants. I would then offer her an option to see if her parents would want to join us somewhere. Literally they would practically pick the same places. Now it’s a good idea 😑🤦‍♂️

Here’s another interesting fact I’m finding out. When it comes time to do the taxes only one parent can claim the children as dependents. Guess who gets to claim them……ding ding ding ……tell them what they’ve won Chuck! That’s right Bill, the one who receives child support also claims them as dependents.

Get your own account and move half of everything to it. Don’t let her have access to it either. For some reason my stbxw thinks she’s entitled to have access to my account, yep, sorry, not sorry

She knows it’s coming. Originally she was going to file but then we got into a scenario where it’s not “convenient “ I basically said I’m done playing your games because divorcing isn’t based on convenience.

Should have always been a state issue. Wether you agree with abortion or not it’s not the feds role in any of this. The wench Pelosi said this is “an attack on family planning “. Really I didn’t realize family planning only involves women having the ability to kill babies that aren’t born

just a question, no, ZERO INTEREST, was on a work trip where my STBXW met a coworker female of mine and they hit it off. IDK if they have been in contact or not, it was only a few weeks ago. I told her that this is happening and that i didnt want her to hear it from anyone other then me as rumors can happen. She said she understood.

I hear you. I was told last Saturday afternoon. I was the last to know but my gut says something has been up for the last few months. She hasn’t officially filled. We have a huge yard project that we are in the middle off that’s going on 2 years. She wants to file after it’s done. I’m still trying to process all this and yesterday she is downsizing the kids stuff. 2 girls 13-15. They are amazing…the kids not her……I know we can be clueless sometimes as men…but damn. This sucks
