I don't particularly like going out alone because typically chicks will go out in pairs of 2 or 3, and they typically stay together the entire night so you are bound to be cockblocked by one who is miserable and not getting any attention from men. Quite a few girls tend to have neverending egos at nightclubs. It's nice to talk to someone extroverted and friendly rather than the one who gives 1-2 word responses, even if you aren't trying to get any phone numbers.

If she looks at you and smiles that's your opener. Otherwise sitting in a corner and staring at them can be pretty creepy. This is why there is a 3 second rule. If she looks your way and makes eye contact just walk up and ask to talk to her, then compliment her. Breaking the ice is great too. Then get her number and leave.

I never mastered tinder so can't comment. Had decent success on other dating platforms but keep in mind that usually they are geared towards women. If you can just eat dinner or have a beer at a bar and comfortably get a woman's number, or don't have much of a problem asking a girl at college for hers I'd stick with that. Only responses I've gotten on tinder have been from working girls looking for money.
