I work in an Engineering sector that is almost 95% male, my peers in the company I work for are all men.

Recently in a confrontation with a colleague I was accused of a range of things, all of which are kind of related. That I hoard knowledge (in that I don't cross train my colleagues from my own skill base) which is true. That I'm overly deferential to the management, which has an element of truth to it (unlike a lot of my colleagues I can accept a final decision and that certain people are in charge).

The it moved on to the more serious accusations, namely that I use my sexuality to get ahead. Which also has an element of truth to it.

For example we have a piece of machinery in our company, that initially only two people were able to calibrate properly (one of whom left the company and the other of whom started to become a pain in the arse). I tracked down a guy I knew from university, that I knew was a bit of a guru with it and got him to show me how to calibrate, over the space of a few weeks. I did all of this in my own time.

When I let my boss know that he now had someone else that could calibrate the machine, he became ecstatic. Certain of my colleagues, who'd been angling to get sent on a course to learn how to do something that I could now do perfectly adequately were less happy.

I probably didn't handle it that well, in a arguments that followed, some stuff was said that I wasn't able to let go. Some of it was funny though.

Anyway I'm describing a very complicated situation, and I've simplified it massively.

The bottom line is that it's not a matter of opinion I'm one of the best engineers in the Company. I probably don't have the Theoretical knowledge of some, but my practical skill set is immense. I can perform tasks that the majority of my colleagues can't. So when men say I'm sleeping my way to the top (even though I've only shagged one member of management) would men here agree that's the case?.

So my question is simply from what I've described, have I done anything that could be considered morally wrong?

I realize I'm probably going to get a few negative comments, but I feel this is the right reddit to post in.
