There's a lot more reasons than that. There was a guy here a while back talking about getting divorced. His wife cheated on him, had a kid with another guy, and left. But she didn't stop there. She had another kid with another man, then another with a different guy. Now he wanted to split up for good after 3 or so years of her going around and doing her thing.

Here's the kicker. I tried to help him, so I looked up the laws (bible belt states) and any child born into a marriage meant that he was the father and responsible for the kid(s). If he fucked a woman and got her pregnant while married to his wife, that kid wouldn't be "their child". But if she fucked a random dude and got knocked up, that kid is "their child".

So she cheated, had 3 kids while being married to him, outside of his state, and legally he would be responsible and have to pay child support to all 3 kids until they turned 18 (or they change the laws and raise the age).

That's a HUGE reason to never get married if you ask me. Paternity be damned, the state will still find you responsible if you put a ring on that finger. And no amount of savings on your taxes will ever be worth the clusterfuck that comes with marriage. Do you really want to pay to raise a kid that isn't yours? Because with marriage, you're basically agreeing to do just that.

Is that 50,000 people in jail on a daily basis from unpaid child support correct? That statistic is mind blowing.

In the end it's all about respect. It's very difficult for men or women now to find people they respect enough to commit to.

Just wondering, if men are opting out of marriages, wouldn't women also be opting out, at the exact same rate? I don't think straight women whose boyfriends don't want to get married just become lesbians, after all.
