this would only be a surprise to a feminist. no one would be surprised to find out that a man who killed his wife wasn't abused or gave no warning, because it would be assumed that he was a psychopath.

I think the statistic about suicide attempts post-murder are interesting. They're also odd since the article states that only 14% of women attempt suicide (compared to 45% in males), but 42% of women who murdered their partners had a mental disorder. Maybe it's just me, but I tend to think of individuals that abuse or callously murder others to probably have antisocial personality disorder, of which one of the symptoms is lack of remorse, and I tend to view attempted suicide (especially after committing such a crime) as a sign of showing remorse. It's just odd to think that out of the 58% of women who murdered their partners and did not have a mental disorder only 14% had enough remorse to attempt suicide. This is all just my opinion though and there are, of course, other ways of showing remorse besides killing yourself. It's just something interesting that I noticed

It's a bit of a stretch to say, "most weren't abused" when 40.5% of the victims' history of violence is unknown. Barring that, the percentage of offenders who were abused is 4.8% higher than those who weren't abused. For all we know, that 40.5% is an unknown that could support or falsify your premise.

On the other hand, the statistic regarding the presence of a mental disorder provides much greater weight in regards to motive as a correlation due to the 7.9% difference from 50% for those where a psychiatric/pathological was present with a 44.7% undetermined.

"Women's Studies" professors and other feminists (yes, you Abella) have done such a great job of demonizing men that even when they are murdered, they are considered the culprit. Most domestic abuse is emotional and women are at least as guilty as men in that area. And as stated, female have lots of resources for help, while men have none. Equality? Not by a long shot.
