We're making progress. They used to claim that men didn't face any disadvantages at all.

I make no claims about whether mens' or womens' disadvantages are worse. The only claim I make is that mens' disadvantages are bad enough to be addressed.

This is the most honest I've ever seen a feminist be about feminism. She actually said it's ok to not be a feminist, good to work on men's issues (a feminist even admitting men have issues at all is rare), and flat out states that feminism is only about equality for women and accepting that it' not a whole egalitarian concept. She's far from spot on, but it's a step in the right direction.

I am surprised this author is still a self proclaimed feminist, but she is correct, and far more honest than many other feminist authors. ( at least in this one article) Her graph is spot on in my opinion, as is her notion that people shouldn't call themselves feminist if they don't make it down the graph. Why she still sees that being a feminist is something to be praised , as indicated by the "congratulations", is something she needs to explain.

I think this is great because it;

a) It shows males are becoming more aware of men's issues.

b) It's an admission that (mainstream) feminism only cares about women's issues.

c) It drives self-respecting male feminists away from feminism. (I hope they read or listen to some Warren Farrell and Tom Goldich as a consequence.)

This is actually amazing. They are essentially telling people to stop supporting them.

found the picture they used pretty funny, as feminists normally dislike the idea of women being seen solely as body parts yet don't show the guys head

anyway, maybe I'm being petty, and the decision to crop the picture may have not been a feminists decision (athough it's the guardian. when they aren't talking about anything to do with feminism, they often aren't talking about gender rights at all so they should be aware as to what I'm pointing out)

I came here to look for this after seeing it on r/feminism. You all seem to like it, so I don't understand the feminist bashing and generalizations I occasionally see here. From subscribing to r/feminism, I've found that this, in more or less words, is the consensus:

We support men's rights, but that's not our focus! This is (at least my) feeling(s) exactly! I think it's really positive.
