Taking issue with the title, if you're going by TFA then he was a murdering torturing extortionist who used rape as a weapon to terrorize the area for over a decade. Vigilante justice was the only justice left available to the victims because the men responsible for bringing him to account had been bought and paid for.

I find a good test as to whether something is relevant to here is, "If you remove gender from the equation, would you get the same result?"

A guy savagely rapes a lot of other men. This monster is above the law. He tortures and murders his opponents with no respect for the law or common decency. After taunting his victims, his victims in turn torture and stab him to death.

Would reddit react in the exactly the same way to that hypothetical as they did to the OP? I'd say yes. This isn't gender-based hypocrisy. This is a monster getting a fatal overdose of his own medicine. Is torture ok, is mob justice ok? No. But when everything else fails, it's still justice. To make out like this is a men's rights issue is disingenuous and reckless.

Did you even read the thread or what this guy did?? It was either be raped by him for the rest of their lives or take justice into their own hands. The justice system was against them. I'm usually against this kind of thing but they had no choice. He admitted what he did multiple times and threatened the women to do it again AND to their daughters. The police just didn't care because he was a gangster, and they feared him. I will not weep his death or feel bad for him at all.

The truth is the issue is not the violence or pain, it is the violation of rights. He committed a crime (assuming he is guilty), he has lost the right to have his rights defended. Defense and revenge are not the same as attack and aggression.

As opposed to schooling and literacy amongst the slum's men, which is no doubt very common.

Apart from that rather insulting attempt at portraying a unisex problem as a women's problem, i really have nothing to complain about here. Sounds like the guy got what was coming to him, possibly in a manner less horrific than he deserved. I don't know what the Hindu version of hell is, but i hope it's at least as unpleasant as the Christian version.
