SINGLE women in their late 30s are increasingly giving up waiting for ''Mr Right'' and turning instead to IVF or assisted reproductive technology (ART) to fulfil their dream of having a baby.

Although Ms Hayden worried what some people would think of her decision to go it alone, her friends, family and workplace were very supportive.

So when I refuse to date most women for many reasons society thinks I am a weirdo but when they do the same because they want prince charming and then decide to have a child anyway no one thinks that is a double standard? I question the wisdom in letting single people intentionally have children as well if for no other reason than the money issue alone.

Until and unless the "best interests of the child" theory spawns legislation that prevents teenagers from raising the children they accidentally conceive with some football player they hooked up with at a party, I'm not interested in trying to prevent financially stable adult women from intentionally becoming pregnant by whatever consensual means they desire.

But as a matter of opinion, I wish they'd "settle" for decent mates in their twenties, rather than seeking out IVF in their late 30s.

It was at this point that I realised something absolutely astounding:

There's actually very, very little imperative for a single woman to use IVF instead of lying about birth control and having sex with a stranger. Outside of just kindness, and some few personal reasons, intercourse with a stranger gives exactly the same result except that you also end up getting money for it.

And that's awful.

Of course not having a father is a nightmare for kids. That HUGE, ALL-IMPORTANT thing aside for a moment my fear now, from a men's rights perspective is:

1) Women being allowed to look up sperm donors who thought they would by anonymous when they agreed to it. 2) Women being able to milk money from sperm donors who never wanted to be involved (just wanted to donate and be left alone).

Also, since a lot of women don't really care bout the best interest of their own children (and the trend seems to be getting worse and worse), I'd love to see an artificial womb. I know feminists are extremely against this idea because they, and women in general (yes, yes, I know there are a few exceptions) want control, control, control.
