This absolutly is a mens rights issue. Ignoring the fact that men can get it too (ignoring this specifically because no one ever mentions it) Every day of every month of every year is about raising awareness for beast cancer and how it affects women.

If not for seeing this post I wouldn't have even remembered. This is because I never see anything regarding testicular cancer, or any of the other cancers for that matter. I find it sickening in my mind that any form of cancer is classed (and yes it is classed even if no one says it out loud) as more important than any other.

I think that awareness needs to be raised for every type of cancer, including male specific and female specific forms, as they each influence the lives they affect in the same way.

Sorry for the rant. TL;DR All cancer is important, yet breast cancer is the most talked about (not even referencing the fact that men can get it too) Kudos to you OP.

I think it's definitely a men's rights issue. Proportionally to the number of men it kills, prostate cancer doesn't get nearly the funding that breast cancer does. Once again because apparently men are the disposable sex. This hits home for me because prostate cancer runs in my family.

It is for sure. Testicular cancer technically killed my father (he was revived on the table twice). He is 15 years cancer free now, but it is entirely possible he could have suffered less if he had known about how to check for these kinds of cancers.

By the time he noticed and was checked out the first doctor he went to told him to get his affairs in order. Fortunately the specialist he went to see next decided to throw down and try everything resulting in his survival. I always like to include this as a thanks to the doctors out there that decide fighting hard it worth the effort.

On a side note, the giant background ad on the page, featuring two womens' faces, links to here, an apparent "Cancer Center"... with images women, and only women, covering the site. That's why we need to raise awareness for things like testicular cancer - men are, in fact, affected by cancer.

Ok well this scares the living shit out of me. I have a dull ache and heaviness on one side of my balls. It's been like that as long as I can remember. How do I present that to my doctor? I'm on my parents healthcare plan, I don't wan't my mom losing her mind if I say I think I might have cancer and need to be checked.

In all cases of testicular cancer, the first treatment option is to remove the affected testicle.

This is what I want more people to be aware of. You can't save the testicle. You also can't prevent testicular cancer (unless the testicle is removed before the tumour appears).

Considering the (lauded) inequality between attention and money directed toward specifically women's health versus and attention and money directed toward specifically men's health I'd say it's most definitely a men's rights issue.
