Seems this is correlation. Women who are more likely to be submissive and enjoy gender roles are less likely to initiate divorce. Women who are more assertive and dislike gender roles are more likely to initiate. This would made the findings more useful at the courting stage of a relationship, where the man can find out her preferences right off the bat. I don't think it matter how much housework he does down the road; just what kind of person she is.

Trad people are going to be more likely to stay in a bad relationships due to their values and financial limitations, the reverse is true for dual earners with more "modern" attitudes.

Holy fuck people. Correlation is not causation! How hard is that?

There are other reasons why there is a correlation between doing housework and divorce. As long as there are other competing explanations, it is absolutely ridiculous to make such claims. It serves only to make the utterer look naive and unintelligent.

Here is an alternative explanation - I am not saying it is true, I am saying it is at least equally viable to "sharing chores leads to divorce". Partners who share chores also tend to be more liberal, and thus do not view marriage as long term as those who don't. Thus, sharing chores is an indicator of liberalism, and liberalism is an indicator that of a common trend towards less permanent marriages.
